So why do people complain about this mission again? It was easy as fuck.
[sp]Wait for them to stop at the outpost, tranq all the guards, then approch the rear APC by crawling, Skulls will pop out, basically crounch walk around a bit until they wander off a bit then get in the APC and wreck their shit, the APC will eventually explode but if you damaged them enough you'll be able to take them out easily with a rifle or autosniper like I did, again, fucking easy as shit mission[/sp]
It's even easier than that.
[sp]Wait for the truck to leave the base, then shoot one of its tires. It'll stop and spawn the skulls, attach balloon to truck. Leave area before Skulls even see you. Easy S Rank.[/sp]

Not as fun as [sp]blasting the shit out of them though[/sp]
Well you have no reason to call in the chopper after side missions, just go to the pause menu and choose return to acc.
I wish I knew that alot sooner.
Do I need to wait for the game to save first?

or just walk in with d walker + gatling and wreck shit
Boss sure loves zebras. Bonus Ass asses.
There have been a lot of thematic and tonal shifts throughout the MGS series, but one thing that's remained constant and absolute is its devotion to arse.
Container thing?
The shipping containers full of resources. When you get the Fulton that can extract them you can go along with them on the ride.
If you jump onto the top of them and use the Fulton from up there you get a little prompt to hold onto the Fulton.
Do I need to wait for the game to save first?
it basically treats you going to the acc as a save. everything you've fultoned will be taken back to base n shit

Wait, are you kidding me? Does that loose any free roam progress?
Anyone else having problems with online? Sometimes it works but it loses connection pretty frequently and menus take forever to load
I'm pretty sure it's like that for everyone so I'm gonna assume it's Konami's servers.
Guys why does the [sp]ELI (Final) Cut Chapter[/sp] feel like [sp]Venom is still Big Boss[/sp] at the point of the [sp]chapter being cut[/sp]?
Okay, so does anyone know [sp]how many Skulls to extract to get the suit?[/sp]

I've probably spend hundreds of thousands of GMP on extraction choppers in freeroam always making sure I do at least 2 side ops so as not to waste GMP. For fuck sake, why didn't I realize that. Return to ACC always seemed like the freeroam equivalent of restart mission to me: lose all your progress go back to what is effectively an earlier state.
Oh god damn it, POST 25 SPOILERS [sp]75% of my MB staff speaks kikongo[/sp]
Maybe this's been posted already, but this happened to start playing in medical when I got back from a mission earlier, I don't have this song on cassette.
ALSO, thanks to one of my soldier's voicelines, possible spoiler at 1:02, you'll wanna stop before then if you haven't gotten to Mission 25/26

Where on the base is the [sp]Zoo area?[/sp]
Where on the base is the [sp]Zoo area?[/sp]
Not on the base.
From the ACC, select go to Motherbase, then press Triangle/Y/whatever button it says in the top right corner when you're choosing a landing zone on Motherbase.

Yeah, she plays a random cassette song, even if you don't currently own it yet. Haven't heard he play Snake Eater though, but I do have that as my ACC music as it comes in so I hear enough of it already.
Where do you even get songs, I have barely any? What I have is mostly no lyric, which sucks because the 80s pop stuff is a lot of fun.

Actually, if you call the support chopper when you're on base, you can access the zoo there as well. Its cool!
on a sidenote those soldier conversations started to get old so I started cracking my hand around base so they'd stop to salute me.
[Sp]sometimes its good foreshadowing though- some talk about how Boss enters a room on the medical platform, wondering why, which isn't strange until you remember Miller and Ocelot supposedly entered the room as well...[/Sp]
fuck me i just did something really stupid
i was redoing mission 10 to nab the transportation specialist before he's executed
i did that, and fultoned everyone off the base.
then i aborted the mission instead of getting back on the chopperr
fuck meeeeeeeeeee

Agreed. Way too simple.
I finished the cathedral section last night and have some questions about Zero, the Patriots, et al. Contains spoilers through mid-MGS4
- Why does he decide to start The Patriots in America? Zero is British - he was born in Exeter, he observes tea-time on the daily, he has an accent, he loves James Bond, and he met The Boss in the SAS - so why did he choose to go forward with this whole plan in America?
- Why the sudden strong admiration for The Boss? In MGS3 he had nowhere near the emotional connection to her that Naked Snake did, it was always just a frank "and remember, Snake, you're going to have to kill The Boss" but then he went forward and dedicated his life to shaping the world according to her vision? Seems a little odd.
- I'm a bit confused about the purpose of Les Enfants Terribles once you factor in the accelerated aging. In 2014 Solid Snake is close to death from aging; at this time Big Boss would be in his eighties (not unthought of to still be alive). If the purpose of the clones was to keep the legacy of Big Boss alive, why are they set to age out about the same time that he does?
- Why make Solidus? He was born after Solid and Liquid so he can't factor into the same plan, plus although he started as another soldier/warlord he eventually became a politician... I assume that this'll be explained more later, but it still feels odd that Big Mama left him out of her explanation of everything else.
It could be that I am misremembering details of MGS3 (or maybe something was explained in Portable Ops, which I skipped) in which case feel free to correct me.
Theres a feeling of accomplishment when you successfully infiltrate someones FOB without an alerts.

Wasn't expecting to get an S on this but eh. I wanted to extract all 6 prisoners, but Quiet activated the searchers that kill one and the other I just could not actually find. Oh well.
11 new APCs and tanks though! Get fucked soviets.
i have never played any mgs, and i don't have access to a playstation currently
should i just get phantom pain
No seriously, I hope I'm not the only one whose side ops are sometimes not saving. I have to do the fucking r&d target practice for the third fucking time now!
What the fuck Motherbase, stop accepting new recruits, especially [sp]BECAUSE ALL OF THEM ARE E-CLASS INFECTED[/sp] Fuck's sake.
I found DD completely by accident on my way to a side op. My only indicator was a message from Ocelot saying I found the little guy so I had to look around.
this game is great, well worth the wait. Is killing skulls just a matter of how much dakka I hit them with or is there some easy way to kill them?
I feel like a big dumb. I've got a full bond with DD, but [sp]I'm not seeing the option to customize him anywhere. Where is it?[/sp]
I've got all the bond-o-meter filled and all that.

You'll have fun, just don't expect to understand half of what's going on
