I was about to finish all shooting practice Side-ops until I acidentally jumped down and died.
It didnt save the progress and I have to redo them all. I only had 1 left too.
Why is the motherbase threated as a mission anyway? It wont save unless you leave by chopper, which is kinda dumb.
[sp]He's in love with the legend. He said it himself. Also that handy dandy brainwashing of his.[/sp]
[sp]If Venom loves Big Boss, does that technically make him gay for himself?[/sp]
about the ending: [sp]It's a bit weird, to be sure, but it's not anywhere near the level of just out the window unnecessary convolution that 2 and 4 had. It answered the two questions I had the most, namely how BB could manage to run both Outer Heaven and FOXHOUND, and why Kaz turned on him. Sure, there were some weird plot threads, but at least it made sense the first time through.[/sp]
Also, has anyone extracted the textures yet? I need that sweet cardboard box camo

[sp]why the hell are you guys posting pictures of your avatar as venom[/sp]
[sp]Good thing that most people just assume it's you being able to play as your "MGO" avatar.[/sp]

But you can't permanently complete the shooting practice side ops, right? I did a few after I built some branches of Mother Base, but they came back again, just like how other side ops will be playable again even when you already completed them.

I though that at the beginning too, [sp]So I made my guy a black man. I was going for a guy that would totally say "I'm getting too old for this shit". So the 46 intro was really weird for me, cause somehow they managed to white him up in 48 hours.[/sp]

[sp] Bahahahaha, i wondered how people would react to that as a weird looking guy. [/sp]

problem is
[sp] The MGS2 ending makes sense the more you think about it, whereas the MGS5 ending makes less and less cohesive sense and feels like a child wrote it to shock you.
The MGS4 ending was dogshit because it tried to tie everything together when it really couldn't/didnt need to be, I was hoping they were going to move away from that, but they didn't.
Could've retconned some parts of MG1/2 and just said BB ran outer heaven/foxhound through proxies ala zero instead of "big bosses best friend and soldier big bob acted as a decoy for him"[/sp]
the trailers also [sp] Hyped up big boss becoming a demon but oops instead its just big bob making some questionable decisions while big boss sits on his ass eating chips [/sp]

They do reappear, yea. But they can be completed and I need them for finishing all Side-Ops.
So I went AFK for a bit on MGS5 to do some stuff, and my Combat unit went from almost dead empty to fucking full, and my R&D from half-full to almost full. Jesus fucking christ, I dont even have enough platforms to accomodate all these assholes
I'm really upset at how the kids I rescued weeks ago still haven't gotten a shower, let alone a set of child-sized fatigues. Seriously, that feels like a big oversight.
Meanwhile my support unit still sits at level 28
[sp]i think venom is pretty pissed that big boss did what he did[/sp]
This is wrong.

I'm a fucking retard I swear. I was sitting here trying to work out a plot hole in my head regarding (probably want to finish 46 before clicking)[sp]How in the end information crawl thing why it was saying that Eli was indeed one of the clones without addressing that earlier in the game there was a bit where they did a DNA test to see if Eli was related to Venom Snake. For some reason I couldn't put 2 and 2 together and work out that the DNA test would come up with that result as Venom isn't the real BB. Keep up me.[/sp]
Looks like I got my refund from Kinguin today. I should be able to add 5 more dollars and buy the game off of Greenmangaming now.

[sp]How the fuck did Ocelot meet up with big boss on his motorcycle when venom and ocelot boarded the boat at like, 4 am but the sun was clearly out when he was with big boss [/sp]
major spoilers
[sp] the scene between big boss and ocelot with the motorcycle takes place after venom boards the boat but before ocelot does[/sp]
After everything, I just feel sorry for [sp]Venom Snake.[/sp]
When you think about it, [sp]Big Boss used Venom as a springboard for his legacy. MG1 becomes so irrelevant and holds a completely different meaning after the end of V.
No wonder Venom goes insane. Fuck, I'd go batshit nuclear too if I had to live with the fact that my real self is nothing now -- a phantom. Really puts MG1 Venom's wishes to create a soldier's paradise into perspective. As a once otherwise unimportant soldier, I'd want to make sure that those of my kin are well taken care of, and not used like I was.
Big Boss is a piece of shit.[/sp]
I'm at mission 20
Will it be long until I get the bandana?

Not gonna argue with that second part, but [sp]what about this makes less sense the more you think about it? it's a pretty straightforward twist as far as twists go[/sp]
So is there a definitive list of which licensed songs are in the game?
To this point I've got the following:

i'm having a lot of fun [sp]grabbing onto enemies then making quiet snipe their heads off in my embrace[/sp]
IF i ever need to sneak up on huey i know how now

[sp] I phrased it wrong, but I think my issue with it is that it tries too hard to tie it all together and comes across feeling disjointed and unfinished. Feels like a "it was all a dream" kinda twist to explain away whatever loose threads there were, and anything that couldn't be fixed with that was fixed it psycho mantis having deus-ex machina abilities
There literally doesn't seem to be a reason for Venom Snake and big boss to be different people, it detracts from big bosses story and just feels silly.
whole game sorta feel likes a bait and switch like MG2, but generally worse written. The trailers really made it seem like it was going to show the rising of outer heaven and the fall of big boss but instead the plot went basically nowhere
I really have no idea why they didn't just make the game about BB instead of what they did[/sp]
MGSV SPOILS
dunno how that conflicts with what i said
[sp]he pretty much has to accept what he is now and roll with the punches, and it doesn't help that bb is heading an operation to destroy outer heaven[/sp]
[sp]To be fair, the whole operation to destroy outer heaven was a ruse- Snake was supposed to die there, most likely while meeting the fake Petrovich (who activated his trap a bit too early, or Snake dove out of the way before he could fall), and the world wouldn't know that Outer Heaven had plans to mass produce automated metal gears. Snake destroying the prototype and killing Venom was probably not part of the plan that Boss put in the MSX tape "Operation Intrude N313".[/sp]
[sp]I really have no idea why they didn't just make the game about BB instead of what they did[/sp]
[sp]To be honest? With how Mission 51 goes about, that could have been a latedev idea Kojima had when he realized Konami was throwing him out.[/sp]
Something I realized while playing the huey sideop- [sp]It combines the pissing of Hal from MGS1 to Huey getting tossed off the stairs by coldman in PW. Pretty insteresting, that.[/sp]
Don't put anyone on your security team.
this works
Well which one is it
Had my FOB for a day and thankfully no-one's come in to steal shit yet. If I put all my A++ guys on direct contract no-one can kidnap them right?
I just limit my security forces to B so none of my A-S+ dudes will be ever in risk
As far as I'm concerned B is basically trash anyway, and most online players will probably think the same.
Additionally, your FOB can be invaded while you're offline, which will blockade it for 6-72 hours depending on the extent of damages (I think 72h gets triggered if your infiltrator goes through the door)
Also, the FOB will only store the UNREFINED materials it digs up. Might also get some portion of the fultoned stuff, but it's not even nearly the all of it. Just upgrade your base development platform on your FOB to refine faster, all your refined stuff is stored on your Mother Base.
You can see the materials that are being held at your FOB by going to Resources screen and then the unrefined tab, the world ball icon indicates the amount currently at your FOB. Only a portion of it can be stolen at once as well, so you're not really losing much. Unless you invade someone who has built (post-M30 spoilers) [sp]nukes, since they can just wipe out your shitty FOB off the face of the earth. There'll be an icon when you invade that tells the dude's got nukes. Don't invade people with nukes unless you're confident you can pull it off full stealth.[/sp] If you want to avoid a catastrophe, just don't invade people.
I think the problem is the late game seems very rushed, storywise, most likely due to kojima being pushed out the door. [sp]Paz serves no purpose, I figure she was going to do something more but then she just gets written away. The Man Who Sold The World has no real lead-up to the mission, it feels like a whole chunk where Venom slowly has the truth dawn on him is missing. And not to mention Eli's whole plot thread literally goes nowhere.[/sp]
I understand why people are mad, I personally liked the ending, it was a bit bewildering, but it wasn't as awful as it could've been. Given more time, though, it could've been a lot better too.
If you send the same set of soldiers out again and again they get service medals that boost their combat abilities. Neat.
her starting support stat was E, now it's A
this is the osldier i send out in place of Snake everywhere i go

[sp]when you achieve hero status with 150k heroism, enemies can no longer retaliate against you w/ nukes[/sp]
they can do that? What does it do?
