Would you guys mind spoilertagging your Huey-hate? I can tell by now that something really bad related to him is gonna happen...
I personally don't mind the frankenguns. Yeah the other games were really good about using real guns, but I think of it like Diamond Dogs are producing their own, new gun types loosely based on existing guns. I don't understand why the enemies are using them too, but I don't use their weapons so I kinda ignore it.
What MGSV feels like is a gameplay evolution from 4 that was really needed (although too much logistical stuff puts a damper in the experience, like all that downtime wasted on chopper transportation all over the place to enter, extract, refresh side-ops, etc.), and a complete and utter side-story to the rest of the series otherwise that doesn't resolve or answer much. (Major Spoilers) [sp]It's literally, 'Okay here's a new villain called Skull Face who blew up MSF, now let's only really resolve his plot arc and otherwise everything else is superfluous or everyone being assholes,' and ultimately everything just continues on like this didn't mean a whole lot anyway. It doesn't even actually tie into Outer Heaven, Big Boss just made it in the background while you were fucking around with Diamond Dogs.[/sp]
Would you guys mind spoilertagging your Huey-hate? I can tell by now that something really bad related to him is gonna happen...
there really isn't, he's just an asshole that only cares about himself
there really isn't, he's just an asshole that only cares about himself
he gives off the opposite impression until that point in the game, so thanks for spoiling that for me
he gives off the opposite impression until that point in the game, so thanks for spoiling that for me
Really? I thought he was a traitorous asshole since GZ came out. He clearly staged the "inspection" and the first thing he does when he sees Big Boss in TPP is bitch about how it was BB's fault. He's a sleazy, whiny, pretentious, obviously lying little shit in every scene he's in. It's not like it's even that much of a spoiler that he's a dick, considering what he does to Emma later on.
FoB AI is really horrendous. It feels like the old school AI that would cheat to keep up with you.
FOB AI's main problem is that it loves to spot you through thin, complex-geometry barriers, which fucks you in your initial approach because that+stairs is what you get most of the time. The AI (hell, the game in general) also doesn't seem to be built for an FOB's verticality, that might have something to do with it. Aiming over and under a railing is extremely finicky.
Do I need to Fulton my vehicles after I used them? It's rather expensive with tanks.
Small easter egg in the Phantom Limb mission, won't spoil it: [sp]When you're carrying out Kaz out of the base and he asks you to say the magic words, you can actually say it by pressing the action button.[/sp] vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Syu1WP9x4sk
big spoilers here [sp]what makes this even better is that it's forced compared to kief's ground zeroes one, because he's saying it for the first time[/sp]
Do I need to Fulton my vehicles after I used them? It's rather expensive with tanks.
It's really not, nearly anything you can fulton can be immediately resold for several times the value of the fulton. Mortars give you like 4k GMP profit.
[sp]actually, venom makes outer heaven, BB makes zanzibar land[/sp]
Granted I've not seen the end or played the full game yet (still installing), so I don't fully grasp everything, but [sp]that was just how it was explained to me when my curiosity got the better of me. That you were building Diamond Dogs as a front for Skull Face while the real Big Boss forms Outer Heaven, which you then take over for Metal Gear 1.[/sp]
huey spoilers [sp]i think the inspection wasn't ordered with bad intentions from huey, it would be really beneficial for msf to be cleared of any potential world-attention-drawing crimes[/sp]
doesn't [sp]Huey say he believes in nuclear deterrence in Peace Walker rescuing him from the Soviet camp and see him say he didn't believe in nukes and say the OP Trojan Horse was Snake's fault kinda made me feel less sorry for him when he was interrogated later[/sp]
Despite being sick the past few days(with today being the worst), I somehow managed to S rank Mission 29. Weird thing is I had to retry several times, so I guess I was fast enough. [sp]are Skulls supposed to be able to shoot through walls? because one of them was able to.[/sp]
End of Game spoilers and question/theory here [sp]I think the 'unreliable narrator' might be something to lean on here, considering what happens with Paz makes pretty much zero sense, especially since Ocelot and Miller apparently see her and talk to her, as well as an unrelated medic. It can't be because of painful memories/unwillingness to let go since Ocelot was pretty much uninvolved with her, so why the hell would he see her if that was the case? Or should we just take that as "supernatural stuff, proceed as usual".[/sp]
talking about spineless shitlords [sp] That was a real spineless shithole move by the real big boss [/sp]
So you can dismiss ocelot... What happens if you do??
[sp]are Skulls supposed to be able to shoot through walls? because one of them was able to.[/sp]
(Africa bosses spoilers) [sp]Nah, it's a model clipping issue. Their weapon holding stance is really wide, you can see the end of the gun sticking through most thinner walls which is how they shoot through them.[/sp]
So you can dismiss ocelot... What happens if you do??
he calls on his ocelot squad to help his self esteem out and then brainwashes himself into quadruple crossing them
okay so throwing this out there about the endgame [sp]ocelot's self-hypnosis has been shown to be a horrible idea, and not reversible. near death he has an ocelot moment, and that's it, he lives the rest thinking he's liquid. now, if he hypnotized himself to think venom is the real bb - why does he rave on great lengths about outer heaven, and not zanzibar land, from mgs2 onward? Ocelot's intentions and image about BB were always skewed it seemed, but if my theory is correct then he's actually furthering venom's sentiments?[/sp] [editline]8th September 2015[/editline] without realizing, that is
I think [sp] Outer heaven is more of a concept than the actual name for any single place [/sp]
yeah but the concept is uttered by [sp]Venom[/sp]
So you can dismiss ocelot... What happens if you do??
Who would ever want to dismiss Ocelot, dismiss Miller for embezzling GMP to make the perfect burger.
he calls on his ocelot squad to help his self esteem out and then brainwashes himself into quadruple crossing them
Speaking of which god damn this game for not allowing you to have combat units dressed up as Ocelot Squad. I was banking on that from the get-go and it never delivered. I'm waiting for a mod to use the model so I can run around as the coolest of the cool and make cat noises at people while shooting them with my revolver. It'll be accurate to my strong fanboy feelings over Ocelot anyway.
uh why are you reading endgame spoilers if you haven't even played the game yet? heres some spoils for you if you just dont care (endgame DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT THE SPOILERS) [sp]venom's motherbase IS outer heaven[/sp]
I did not choose to be spoiled. Decided to look up TVTropes pages and forgot that most people don't spoiler the Trope tags too, which pretty much spoiled [sp]the entire Ishmael reveal for me just by seeing the names. So I know the gist, just not how it plays out in the actual game. Also I've been playing the PS4 version by renting it, I just have the game for real now.[/sp]
Probably should spoiler tag everything past "spoiled" a lot of people havent finished the game and dont know about it, and its a nice surprise.
Right, sorry about that. Spoilered it like you did.
would be amaze to see ocelot and the boys patrolling mb snapping their fingers and beating up the pipsqueak e rankers [editline]8th September 2015[/editline] rikoh you should spoiler tag that stuff man
It's weird because you see them in certain scenes and they're always looking tip-top and the most professional of all the members at MB. You'd expect them to be involved more or for you to allow your S++ ranked combat units to be "Promoted" to Ocelot Squad. That and yes, I do want them re-enacting the West Side Story but with them making finger guns and making 'pew pew' noises as they surrounded E-rankers before giving them a wedgie and disappearing in a cloud of smoke.
[sp]Wait, where did sahelant-something, Eli and mantisperson bugger off to after the end? Are they the extreme mission or something?[/sp]
