I find it kind of difficult trying to describe the amount of cut content without spoiling anything because [sp] most of the cut content you'll see is after chapter 1, and I would go as far as to say that the game feels complete at chapter 1- however, everything beyond chapter 1 is rushed/recycled/they didn't get nearly enough devtime to actually finish their episodic series.[/sp]
[sp]Honestly, I would have preferred a more linear, structured game than it being open world if it meant the the story would have been complete. I felt hardly any closure with what we got.[/sp]
So i finally unlocked [sp]stealth camo[/sp], now what are requirements for developing it? Cant find it in develompent projects list. [sp]Also someone mod horse into BB's bike from final scene asap, dont care if it'll looks like weird and flying[/sp]

[/sp]
I still can't get the free FOB. Time to validate steam files...
[sp]All these massive plot holes make me really sad.[/sp]
[sp]It just feels like Kojima completely gave up halfway through development and decided to throw out most of Big Boss's character development in favor of a pointless twist. For some reason, I'm wondering if Kojima leaving Konami will be good for the series.[/sp]
it doesn't help that you can use trainers while playing online so everyone that invades your fob is likely cheating anyway. on top of that fobs are supposed to be set up so they can only be attacked like maybe twice a week but instead you just get attacked every three hours and it directly results in you losing motherbase staff and processed materials. it's utter bullshit. even when you're offline your fob is still up on the server and it's free game. you log in to collect your daily reward or whatever but instead you get severely punished because you weren't there to save your own skin for a mandatory feature that you pretty much have no way of skipping
Console players have it bad as well since you need PSN+/Xbox Live Gold to defend your base directly. Albeit it will take longer for people to take everything, but it kinda sucks it's behind a paywall. I can understand MGO requiring it, but FOBs needing it is silly in my opinion.
Anyone got the music playing during the final [sp]Paz[/sp] cutscene?
The game is outstanding and runs extremely well on PC. About 11 hours in or so.
[sp]And this entry totally fucks with Big Boss and who he is to other characters in the series. The Big Boss that we knew up 'til this point was a mentor to Snake, a savior to people like Sniper Wolf, Gray Fox, and Naomi. But now all that was just the phantom Big Boss? That just makes the relationship between the real Big Boss and Snake seem so unsubstantial now.[/sp]

how do you stand up in your box like that?
how do you stand up in your box like that?
The crouch button.
it's kind of nuts how many of phantom pain's problems only really show up in the last like two hours of gameplay out of 60~ or so
I gave Quiet another few missions and I feel she's maybe too good. She's wiping outposts out like nothing with her tranq rifle. Quiet major spoilers [sp]I'm now actually sad and afraid I might get used to her too much when she leaves.[/sp]
Speaking of major Quiet spoilers [sp]After her story is finished, can you use her in mission replays or is she gone completely?[/sp]
Honestly I would've liked if they explained more about (ENDGAME SPOILERS) [sp]Tretij Rebenok and how the fuck Eliquid uses him to control Sahelanthropus[/sp]
can you be raided as soon as you create a fob? a made one yesterday maybe the day before but it hasnt been raided, i havnt done any more storyline missions though
Speaking of major Quiet spoilers [sp]After her story is finished, can you use her in mission replays or is she gone completely?[/sp]
More Quiet spoilers [sp]Put the butterfly emblem on and she won't leave, but you won't be able to finish the story[/sp]
I still feel that in regards to [sp]__Paz__[/sp] there was something they could've done a lot better than what we got. [sp]Personally, I'd love to have Paz back for real, but they handled the fact that she was just a phantom really poorly. I think if they'd done something with Kid Mantis reviving her in some way using Venom's psyche, like what happens with the Man of Fire, but in a way only Venom sees her, or something similar, it'd be even more emotionally impacting. Introduce her earlier, in a greater capacity then just off in a room where you give her photos. Don't have other characters acknowledge her either. Like the plot twist from Black Ops, only with Kid Mantis you can fuck around even more with what's real and what isn't by having things physically change too. Right now, the tape of Paz humming legitimately has no way to exist, but it does, and it actually has an effect on gameplay. How? Did Venom do the world's best Paz impression?[/sp]
More Quiet spoilers [sp]Put the butterfly emblem on and she won't leave, but you won't be able to finish the story[/sp]
[sp]I know about that, but I mean if you were to 100 percent complete the game would she still be around for mission replays? I know she disappears from all subsequent missions and freeroam.[/sp]

Also, honestly, are you looking for story inconsistences in tapes' existence? There are tapes of Kaz embezzling DD funds for his burgers, and Boss never approaches him talking about that. In my opinion the subquest hit me harder than the entire mgs5 story tbh - first you're reminded of MSF which was a jolly group of fun ppl including kaz who was a beacon of happines, all the hilarious shenaningas and whatnot and instantly compare all of the first 3 tapes to current state of diamond dogs, with everyone being eaten by the need of revange. Then 4th tape ends in such a way that I had to relisten to the entire tape, and then shit hits the fan hard. Honestly it's a subquest I'd recommend everyone to finish[/sp]

I brought up Black Ops for a reason, that's a game where you play with a character for nearly the whole game only to find out that they're just a figment of the protagonist's psyche. If we had the Paz we had here, only instead of being off in a side room, she's actually doing stuff. Of course, she's not ACTUALLY doing stuff, but whatever. There was a theory going around that Skull Face was going to follow Venom around as a hallucination, as a way for Venom to push blame off himself and onto someone else. What I think would be better is if Paz egged Snake on to do more and more terrible things to get back at XOF, and as the game gradually goes on you get the same diary tapes. Finally, the player kills Skull Face or whatever, and then it's revealed that Paz was never around, and it was just Venom's grief made manifest that was pushing him towards revenge. I'm not saying what they did here was bad, I'm just saying it could be a lot better.[/sp]

Rebenok attached himself onto Eli's drive and hatred against Big Boss[/sp]
I'm not even to mission 10 yet, but from what I've played so far and what I hear I'm getting the impression that MGSV is kind of an underwhelming mainline metal gear game when comparing to the strengths of the previous games, despite being a really fucking awesome open world stealth action shooter. It almost feels like it should have been a side game to the series like Revengeance was, even though it's really AAA in quality and does open world shooting better than most games.
It's really not, nearly anything you can fulton can be immediately resold for several times the value of the fulton. Mortars give you like 4k GMP profit.
im about to make a killing in the mortar market, just as soon as i figure out how to sell mortars.
Having played a lot of FOB defences, the vast majority of invaders just have a completely wrong approach to them Typically you find two types of player: 1. The fulton addict: extracts everything they see, regardless of how obvious it makes their current position, without even trying to relocate until they see an enemy. Typically they're very easy to sneak up on. 2. The rambo: typically spamming grenade launchers, they might get lucky particularly in level 1 platforms if they manage to kill all guards without getting spotted and either kill or evade the defender, else it's plain suicide. Yet to see anyone not failing spectacularly trying this on a large platform I think a lot of people are confused on what the objective of the mode is, reaching the core is just a major victory, but even failing that you can do a -lot- of damage before the defender catches you, and you've got plenty of time to do anything you like, there is no need to rush it. Use stealth, set up traps, use your gadgets (sneaking suit + smoke grenades make you pretty much invisible even with NVG) keep moving and leave the defender guessing where you're going to strike next- he can respawn and you can't, so avoid confrontation whenever possible. Guards are dumb as hell so they're very easy to take out, even going gung-ho can work so long as you keep moving and don't get spotted, or you're going to be in a world of hurt especially because you'll be marked and the defender will know your exact position Going non-lethal on the guards is extremely risky and usually not worth it.Nearby guards are marked on the defender's HUD so if someone suddently falls asleep it's very noticeable and sets you up to get wrecked while you're out in the open extracting them. But it can work as a distraction, or even a trap. A defender camping the core door is the best thing that can happen to you. Steal all his shit then if you can actually make it through the door, all the better. It's not about winning, it's about the amount of stuff you can steal
im about to make a killing in the mortar market, just as soon as i figure out how to sell mortars.
Go to resources in the mother base screen and then emplacements.
Ten years late by now, but I didn't think this game would satisfy my Starship Troopers obsession but it did. G44 with the grenade launcher (would have went shotgun, but its fucking ugly without a pump) and helicopter music set to this
Speaking of which god damn this game for not allowing you to have combat units dressed up as Ocelot Squad. I was banking on that from the get-go and it never delivered. I'm waiting for a mod to use the model so I can run around as the coolest of the cool and make cat noises at people while shooting them with my revolver. It'll be accurate to my strong fanboy feelings over Ocelot anyway.
You can get everything except the beret. The black ocelot uniform actually is entirely black on MB soldiers. I suppose PC players probably can't at this point though.
