[QUOTE=SpartanXC9;48640343]Oh that's awsome! How do I get these?[/QUOTE] That's the problem; no one knows for sure. Some say indiscriminate / high levels of killing will make the points rise. Others say it's specific things, like burning people alive, killing people you told to get down, killing animals, or so forth. One confirmed method of getting a shitton of Demon points, is (late gameplay spoilers) [sp]building a nuke as a deterrent for your base, assured to eat up your Heroism if you haven't been grinding it at all.[/sp]
[QUOTE=Zeos;48640370][sp] Or the fact that YOU CAN CALL THE SUPPORT WITHOUT SAYING ANY WORDS. Jesus Christ they didn't know what to do with any of the characters.[/sp][/QUOTE] I always thought that was just a game mechanic and snake did speak to the pilot we just didn't hear it. Or perhaps she didn't know how to use it properly.
how good is chapter 2 versus chapter 1? just finished mission 31.
How do I activate mission 42? I've done all the story beats up to it and was just told "ehhh we'll let you know."
[QUOTE=gbtygfvyg;48640453]Wrong [sp]Skull Face only put the English virus strain in her which is why she avoided speaking English, the only other language she spoke was Navajo but since barely anyone speaks Navajo or understands the language she just foregoes speaking entirely.[/sp][/QUOTE] [sp]The game actually says she has every strain in her and Code Talker mentions that Navajo does nothing to the parasite[/sp] [QUOTE=scratch (nl);48640477]how good is chapter 2 versus chapter 1? just finished mission 31.[/QUOTE] It's barely there since only 1 and 1/2 chapters were complete out of a 5 chapter game
So, I've gathered that the general consensus of this game is that gameplay wise, it's extremely engaging and fun, but plot/story wise, it's a underwhelming experience? I'm only on mission 7 or 8, and to be honest, the mission structures are already starting to feel a little repetitive. Something I was fearing for this game is the lack of urgency in the missions. In MGS4, you always felt like you were making steps closer to unlocking the next section of the game. Every set piece was specifically designed to feature certain things, which always made it feel fresh. Even though it was linear, you were always coming up on something you've never seen before. It's an inherent problem faced by open-world games, I think. All the activities take place in one level, essentially. Though I have to admit, some of the key areas in MGSV so far have been very varied, which is definitely a good thing.
[QUOTE=SpartanXC9;48640513][sp]The game actually says she has every strain in her and Code Talker mentions that Navajo does nothing to the parasite[/sp][/QUOTE] Where does it say this because the cutscene said otherwise.
Honestly, MGS4 felt like the perfect example of a game restrained by its linearity. There was a lot of attention to detail, a lot of gameplay features and content that most players will [i]never[/i] experience without going out of their way for it. Especially the fact that you can somewhat swim, but the only time water can be found in the game is in Act 3 far, far off the beaten path when the whole act is an extended escort mission. Yet the story hounds and nips at the game's heels every other minute, and ten minutes of gameplay are then met with 20-30 minutes of cutscene, as if the story wanted to one-up the actual gameplay time. MGS5 is a game that could've benefitted from a better-contained structure in comparison. You have tons of gameplay, but some of the expanses are a bit too open for their own good and you repeat a lot of basic mission structures over and over. And even aside from that, besides certain scenes, the game's story feels more like it wants to pull a Metal Gear 1 and shut up so that you can get back to the gameplay. But without the substance of a consistent and tight plot to push you onwards, the gameplay pretty much becomes the saving grace on principle of quality. MGS5 is literally the anti-MGS4.

It's similar to Portal in that regard - most people play it for the story and exploration, not for the puzzles. Though I enjoy MGSV gameplay a lot on it's own, the only thing that's making me a bit sad is the cut content from the end-game. I have no idea what is it, since I'm on mission 14 (50 hours into the game though :v: ), but just knowing that a major plot point is missing makes me not hyped for the ending.
D-Walker is god damned expensive with the upgrades. also, is there any way to see [sp]kojima[/sp] at mother base?

wandering mother base soldier ran onto a mine RIP
[QUOTE=Akuma_lektro;48640665]wandering mother base soldier ran onto a mine RIP[/QUOTE] Damn, I'm sorry for your loss. Idk if this was posted already but: if you get the first tape from [sp]the first time you go to the blue light room on the medical bay at motherbase; if you play her humming tape near the wandering motherbase soldiers they will actually come to you or won't run if you get close to them[/sp]

Sorry if this is old news, I wasn't going to read through 300 new posts :v: [editline]8th September 2015[/editline] [QUOTE=Akuma_lektro;48640665]wandering mother base soldier ran onto a mine RIP[/QUOTE] I had Quiet run through a mine once, confused the hell out of me when the base reported an explosion before I even did anything. I had no idea there were enemy mines at that point.
[QUOTE=Qbe-tex;48640504]Keep playing side-ops, ocelot should eventually call you back to motherbase. (for me it was like 3-4 side-ops)[/QUOTE] That worked. [sp]Now I'm sad.[/sp]
side ops spoilers - [sp]Why are the wandering mother base soldiers fucking crazy? Did they take PCP or something?[/sp]
Wait, do I have to have [sp]Quiet leave for the story to continue? Because that would be dumb, as someone could totally lock themselves out of the ending because of having a certain Emblem[/sp]

[QUOTE=MightyLOLZOR;48640733]side ops spoilers - [sp]Why are the wandering mother base soldiers fucking crazy? Did they take PCP or something?[/sp][/QUOTE] their eyes are white like kaz and code talkers aswell, cut content IMO
The first [sp]wandering mother base soldier[/sp] scared the shit out of me
[QUOTE=Tuskin;48640794][sp]No, you can get the True Ending, Mission 46 without letting her leave, I did it [/sp][/QUOTE] Part of me feels like[sp]I should let her go because it's the right thing to do, but.........those tits though[/sp]
[QUOTE=krakadict;48640801]their eyes are white like kaz and code talkers aswell, cut content IMO[/QUOTE] Code Talker is old though, he could just be blind. [sp]Might see via the Parasites[/sp]
Which mission should I avoid in order to (possibly major Quiet spoilers) [sp]keep Quiet[/sp]. Just the number please.
Real Talk, Ending spoilers [sp] Headcanon is that Venom and Quiet get together, and he, being Boss too, fakes his own death at Outer Heaven, and lives the rest of his life as like, the owner of a camp for underprivileged children. Because that's basically more consequential than the ending of this game.[/sp]
Oh man, just met my first invincible cheater invader Idiot just kept shooting at my shield so I got close, punched him in the face and threw him in the water
[QUOTE=SpartanXC9;48639774]Oh wow that sucks! Is this because of Konami?[/QUOTE] The cut content is, yeah. All the plot holes and the all-around confusing plot is because Kojima was surrounded by yes-men throughout development. Kojima is really just George Lucas. You get someone to challenge him creatively, you'll get a masterpiece. When he's alone and completely in charge, you get a total mess. Kojima had five fucking years to work on this game, and this is what we get. All the shit that's lazily crammed into the game, NOW I understand why he was fired. I understand it completely. This entire plot is meaningless. The game, in it's current state, has no reason to exist. [sp]I, along with just about everyone else, thought this was actually going to be the missing link to complete the saga. But no, Kojima fucked it up again, just like he did with 4. He had to put in a completely pointless body-double plot element so he could dance around the majority of Big Boss's character development because he wants him to be completely perfect. I can see clearly now. Kojima is a fucking hack. This entire plot is just disappointing. Portable Ops did a better job tying up loose ends.[/sp] [editline]8th September 2015[/editline] [QUOTE=Zeos;48640888]Real Talk, Ending spoilers [sp] Headcanon is that Venom and Quiet get together, and he, being Boss too, fakes his own death at Outer Heaven, and lives the rest of his life as like, the owner of a camp for underprivileged children.
