Now that I've finished the story [sp]I kinda wished there was more diversity to the environments, my favourite place to infiltrate was the mansion. Africa/Afghanistan were pretty similar imo[/sp]
100% agree. Although Konami likely will never do it I hope when get modding tools some day to make more stuff like it.
Troy Baker is a real gem.
I do have to admit, there were a few moments where I had to wonder if he was still stuck doing Joel's voice from The Last of Us :v:
Troy Baker is a real gem.
Does he even try anymore? Like, really. Ocelot isn't supposed to be from fucking Texas.
I do have to admit, there were a few moments where I had to wonder if he was still stuck doing Joel's voice from The Last of Us :v:
Every fucking time he talks about a gunship or enemy sniper. Every fucking time. And i get spotted by them both quite often. And i thought Kaz was going to be annoying. Troy is somehow more of a miscast than Kiefer.

Yes, Kaz, I am going to extract the soldier with an A++ skill, get off my back.
Troy is somehow more of a miscast than Kiefer.
I don't blame Troy for it; he doesn't have a natural southern accent and if they didn't want Ocelot to sound like that then the voice director(s) should have said something.
S rank medical staff? Really Boss you want to extract him???? E rank combat staff no problem boss we'll pick him up.
[sp]Salanthropeus was so hard for me. Anyone have tips?[/sp]
Endgame Huey talk [sp]Jesus christ I kept waiting for a twist he was innocent all along. I can't believe they played him straight.[/sp]
I might be the only one who thinks this but does anyone else feel that the overall music is less memorable than other songs from the franchise? The only songs I can really remember are Quiet's theme and Sins of the Father. Other than that, I can't really find the rest of the music to be memorable.
hot damn just finished mission 12
Still sounds pretty good tho.
Oh yeah, I will agree that the music is good. I just find it difficult to find it as easy to remember and shit as the rest of the games.

I thought the pitch was a good mix of young Ocelot and old Ocelot. Which I imagine what middle aged should be voiced like. I didn't really see him being very southern though, sure there was some in it, but the guy literally dresses like a cowboy.
Troy does weirdly lazy jobs when he takes a character once voiced by someone else, such as when he replaced Guy Cihi in SH2, in which he gives possibly the worst performance I've ever heard, and then proceeded to shit-talk everyone involved in the original VA.
I didn't really feel Troy did a bad job, but I definitely wouldn't have chosen him as the VA. Then again, I didn't like any of the voice choices for this game, but I digress.
[sp]What /was/ well developed in the second half, that's the real question here.[/sp]
[sp]I felt like him becoming paranoid was reasonable now that Skullface was gone and he really had nothing to do. Also the burger subplot.[/sp]
Jesus, the Skulls are ridiculous on extreme.
Big spoilers: [sp]The ending cutscene with Skull face was pretty intense. I ended up going Nuclear, during the cut scene prompt I didn't touch anything to see what would happen. Snake and Miller going apeshit with the lever action and Huey finishing him off wasn't what I expected.[/sp]
Finally completed all of the main story and can go back to this thread. Gameplay wise they delivered everything as promised, but story left me littlle disappointed. contains major spoilers [sp]Most of the scenes we saw in the trailers were scattered across the story, I hoped there would be some secret 'Chapter 3' with totally new location we haven't seen in gameplay videos, where the grand finale would occur, instead there's only simple tie in for MG1 and MG2. I also didn't feel the progression of Big Boss and his team into evil - it's their enemies who had really evil methods. Diamond Dogs just accomplished their goals like former MSF, I'd only point out the stricter mood around the base during 'Chapter 2' The theme of language was really interesting and the whole parasite thing, which I find inspiring for the future FOXDIE and Patriots' control. Honestly even this felt just to be there, like these were great moments but you just live through them and that's it, they didn't have much impact later on you. I felt bad for Huey at the beginning, I trusted him because of how desperately he sounded. It was disappointing for me to find out that he's fooled himself too far. Fuck Quiet, I raised the bond to the max for only like 1-2 missions and she went missing after Mission 45 forever. I EVEN MADE SILVER BOOBS FOR HER AND THAT'S FOR NOTHING!? I DIDN'T HAD A CHANCE TO TRY THEM. Really like Code Talker, but he feels unfinished. Anyway I'll say that I feel somewhat cheated, maybe I actually am, because of the whole real Big Boss' plan to leave a decoy that is you. You were played by Big Boss into playing Big Boss, this is clever but still hurts me a litte.[/sp] Now I'll go for Platinum Trophy.
