Fuck, the ending was pretty terrible up until the very VERY end. That attention to detail. I liked MGSV. I got more than enough out of my ~$30, and it's very possibly my GOTY, but it has more issues than I'd like it to have. The VA was lacking. The way the story and gameplay interact works very well in the early game, then very badly in the endgame. A lot of plot-critical info is relegated to optional tapes, which really shouldn't happen. I wouldn't give it a 100/100.
yeah no doubt. once you get past chapter 1 the whole game just falls apart since you can tell it was rushed to completion to meet the sept 1 deadline and it really shows that being said I got my money's worth in the first half of the game anyway too. It's still stupid that people try to justify their purchases for expensive triple A titles with little to no content/replayability and yet this game just manages to stay so addicting that you lose track of time. i thought witcher 3 nailed that but msgv is a total cut above
Wandering Mother Base Soldiers Side Ops / Major Spoilers: [sp]Man, I didn't expect the last guy to use fucking Stealth Camo.[/sp] [sp]And I'm almost ashamed to admit it but that Paz cutscene for getting all the photos made me cry. I don't know why. I felt bad both for Paz when she broke down and exploded again and for Snake reaching for the butterfly of peace that was never there. Fucking hell I still have the lump in my throat.[/sp]
[sp]What do you mean the last guy? Everyone from 5 onwards used stealth camo[/sp]
[sp]What do you mean the last guy? Everyone from 5 onwards used stealth camo[/sp]
[sp]Oh. I didn't screw up my first shot for those guys so I never found out[/sp] :v:
Is it just me or erotic magazines are missing in this game I'm already at mission 30 and I'll be very sad to find out it is
[sp]What do you mean the last guy? Everyone from 5 onwards used stealth camo[/sp]
[sp]He was probably sniping them from a distance, they don't pop their camo until they detect you (which made the guy in the jungle a pain in the ass).[/sp] Also, (Ch. 2 spoilers -->)fuck [sp]__Huey.[/sp] Also fuck [sp]Eli, and his meddling kids too[/sp]
watching thirsty soldiers ignore their dead comrades and enthusiastically triggering my claymore+magazine was the best thing ever
Is it just me or erotic magazines are missing in this game I'm already at mission 30 and I'll be very sad to find out it is
replaced by boxes with posters on the sides.
Is it just me or erotic magazines are missing in this game I'm already at mission 30 and I'll be very sad to find out it is
Probably because the cardboard box with a horizontal poster does the same thing, but I would have loved to research books with more fascinating and eye-catching articles

[sp]He goes from "he's okay, he probably just fucked up" to being completely outraged at him, to just feeling empty pity for a hollow man, lost in a web of lies he's woven himself, lies he's used so long and against so many, he believes them himself.[/sp]
Okay, that's great they figured the whole (Mission 45 spoilers) [sp]Quiet coming back[/sp] using mod stuff. Fuck that noise, I want puppy DD 24/7 (with still-adorable-but-useful DD on the side would be nice). How do I make that happen.
Probably because the cardboard box with a horizontal poster does the same thing, but I would have loved to research books with more fascinating and eye-catching articles
ah, damn making readable magazines (like in 4) would've been kinda neat I guess you can't have everything

The tapes you get at the end of chapter 2 are way better than the entirety of chapter 2, save for mission 43. [sp]Strangelove's[/sp] tape is ripping my heart out.
[MISSION 16 - CARAVAN] [SP]Not sure why most of you guys find this mission hard, S'd it on my first run. Intercepted the convoy at the triangular intersection north of the airport, wasted the advance team from ZPF, deployed a EMP mine. I then knocked out the front Stout, which triggered the Skulls, got in my fucking BTR and filled the fuckers with Russian lead.[/SP]
So after Mission 45 [sp]which made me tear up a little bit because I was a little attached to her[/sp], I'm like permanently covered in blood. I don't mean like, just wound blood.. Almost like its an outfit, from head to toe, BLOOD... And I can't shower it off and changing outfits doesn't work.. Bug or... Am I just that fucked up?
Was there an actuall attemp to make avatar looks like young big boss / solid snake?
huh i unlocked the "secret ending" by accident, it just showed up right after the MB meeting where the important thing happens
Reflex mode and enemy indicators are for plebs. Plz, git gud.
I didn't even need to get detected for Mission 16 [sp]killing the unsuspecting skulls with C4 doesn't trigger the battle - go put up some decoys and line it with C4 bam, perfect stealth[/sp]
Reflex mode and enemy indicators are for plebs. Plz, git gud.
I just wish I still had a compass/minimap with markers off. Having to bring up the map constantly is kind of annoying.
one thing I don't get it, in the prologue/[sp]truth ending, how the fuck does the real big boss just vanish and die like 3 times but keep teleporting and coming back[/sp] [editline]9th September 2015[/editline] ocelot buddy, never actually shoots anything just distracts the enemy with his cool revolver tricks
Is Mission 51 a rough sketch or something? It reeks of amateur hour garbage. [sp]Hurr big boss suddenly becomes RED-WHITE colorblind! For like 10 seconds![/sp]
also idk if this videos been posted, but it's a spoiler for episode 30 so https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31dsolM10ng
What I have to say about Boss not talking much in MGSV. MAJOR MGSV Spoilers [sp]I agree that he's too silent at times. In GZ he was pretty silent, too, but he said few lines in those couple of cutscenes of the main mission. I know I'm in the minority but I didn't grew up with these games and I'm not a fan of Hayter at all. He was "okay" in the first two games but after that he started to talk with weird itonation and then added the throat cancer angle. I keep hearing that the rest of the games has hammy VAs all over the place but at least their voices sound more natural. I love Kiefer's voice. He sounds very natural and fits the character. Unfortunately I wonder if an actor this big was a good idea. The situation with Konami and Kojima's budget and scope surely influenced why there isn't that many cutscenes and most dialogs happen in tapes. I think they could have looked for a lesser know VA that has a natural raspy voice. VAs as a whole keep surprising me with their talent. You don't always need a surely more expensive Hollywood actor. That being said I don't necessarily want more cutscenes, just more reactions from Big Boss. Which leads us to the story. We don't play as the real Boss. If you look at the three parts he's actually in (hospital, after hospital and tape for Venom) the real Boss seems more talkative. Venom on the other hand has implanted memories, got it way worse in the crash than Boss (lost his hand, had 108 shrapnels of metal and bone origin in him and some are left in his body) and has a huge shrapnel in his head. I think it's safe to say that can fuck with a man leaving him silent. So taking this into account I can see why Boss doesn't talk much in this game. Do I like it? Nope. I, too, wanted to see how Big Boss falls and instead we get to play as a guy that isn't very important. Thank Kojima that the gameplay is everything I ever wanted.[/sp]
despite how hammy skullface was in some scenes, that scene where he's talking [sp]directly at the camera when you confront him is scary as fuck[/sp] [editline]9th September 2015[/editline]
What I have to say about Boss not talking much in MGSV.
you're a demon grats on hitting that low
well shit
Is Mission 51 a rough sketch or something? It reeks of amateur hour garbage. [sp]Hurr big boss suddenly becomes RED-WHITE colorblind! For like 10 seconds![/sp]
Except it's one of the very first things mentioned in the game
I'm not sad that Ocelot isn't a buddy, but i'm disappointed that we only have four, and only two of them actually have any sort of character - and one of those two is fucking D-Dog so no one can deny him. A co-op system, being able to get support from Diamond Dog forces beyond just supply and chopper, or anything more than just, "Oh hey you can bring one buddy in for your otherwise-solo infiltration ops, whether it's a horse, a dog, a robot or a naked sniper." There's a blatant disparity there.
it would be pretty rad if I could solo as dog or quiet or have combat team staff as a buddy
D-Dog is the weapon to surpass metal gear
I kinda wish you could deploy with your troops
