I don't exfiltrate if I wanna do other ops or missions in the area. I just drive or go by horseback. Though yeah it'd be amazing if you could be picked up by the helicopter and dropped off somewhere else without having to do the whole ACC shtick.

I actually only use it on Mother Base. I still haven't activated all of the points. You unlock two boxes, one for collecting all of them in one of the areas and the other for all (12 in Afghanistan, 9 in Africa). But yeah, use the Return to ACC in the menu, you save GMP for the helicopter. Another saving tip, if you are going to do side ops in free roam try planning ahead to do more of them in the area. Even if you do the trick with ACC each deployment can cost a lot based on your gear. And moving in the world is more entertaining than the constant arrival by heli. Damn, how I wish I could just appear on the ground if I pick a safe landing zone.

For some reason I once picked a landing zone and Pequod landed right next to an APC, which immediately shot my chopper down. I quickly tried to reload Checkpoint and maybe get back to the ACC so I can pick another landing zone but it spawned me right next to the APC (stealthed) so I could just take it out. Turned out it was a Heavy Armor Side Ops I knew nothing about, but how was I supposed to know my chopper would try land on top of the APC? Also, what happens if your chopper gets shot down? Do you just lose GMP? Does a new 'clone' pilot with a new chopper appear as Pequod?

It's useful as a dredge of resources just incase you need it. I love to shoot out lights over huge distances with just the AR, so satisfying. Havent got this feel since bf3 long range shots.
