Tragic accident involving a bugged Combustion Engine led to my repeated death as I and Minimal (thank you so much) hunted down the issue

Unfortunately, all entities in the vicinity of the bugged area were immediately destroyed upon entering the game world, so each time I died, my stuff went with me, including:

Advanced Electric Jetpack (Prot 4)

I don't mean to be that guy, and I really hate to ask, but is there any chance I could get a reimbursement of any of these items? For someone who isn't very well established yet on the server, this was basically everything I had. I live at -1800, +1400 (there's a linking book at spawn, in the water along the coastline, under the bridge -- it leads to the nether, where there is another linking book to my area).

If it's not possible, I'll live with it, but god, it's unbelievably discouraging to [what feels like] start all over.

Today, I returned to work on my house, to find my beautiful, pristine view had been ruined by a rather rude neighbor who I later discovered was pilfering from my quarry. The neighbor in question, Elfy, had surrounded my beautiful house with disgusting, aesthetically-displeasing, mass-produced farmland, without asking the man who owned the property.

I asked him about it, and he denied his action in anything until I pointed out that one of the chests he had locked was one from an earlier quarry of mine, and I found my turtle in one of his unlocked chests. Upon my finding this, he denied all knowledge of my house, claimed to get permission from an admin (Only to be unable to actually tell me the admin's name, and only claiming permission from "the founder of edo"... Again, no names.), and then logging out abruptly when I began asking more questions.

The area in question will be razed, terraformed, and made beautiful in the interest of restoring my pristine view. I request that the perpetrator, Elfy, be sentenced to some sort of manual labor or community service for committing a travesty such as this on our fair town.

As part of the disaster team here at G&G, and since you have astounding credit in accord to others players, were obliged to provide free one-time insurance which includes a kit to start mining again as soon as possible

Admins cannot give players lost items which were due to their own shenanigans, but other players can.

I very much appreciate the offer, but I feel awful accepting donations of any sort. Also, because the loss of the items was a result of a bug (some Combustion Engine thing I've never heard of before), so I feel this is better left to the server admins to make a decision on.

I don't get the mentality of "This chest isn't locked, I'll just TAKE EVERYTHING."

Seriously, if it's underneath someone's house, and the only entrance into the area with the chest is a staircase inside the house, why would you think you could even try to take from it? And then, why would you proceed to take everything from it?

The chests were unlocked, yes, but they had to be; turtles don't play nice with lwc. It should be understood that, if the chests are underneath someone's house, they don't belong to you, and you shouldn't go stealing from them. And then, when you almost empty all of them, there should be some point where something should be done from the admins. Whether it be returning the items and telling the person off, or banning them entirely. Theft wasn't allowed before we had LWC, why is it allowed now?

I realize I shouldn't have begun tearing down his farm. That was me overextending my bounds, and I am sorry. However, when the resources used to construct it were stolen from you, would it not be your farm by extension? Food for thought.

A final point to consider, his house doesn't meet building theme, it's blocking the road out of town to the Sand Kingdom. His farms destroyed the water currents in the bay and blocked it entirely in some places (preventing boat travel), and ruined one of the main aesthetic features of Edo (The reason I built on the waterfront. On a related note, does the water count as Edo as well?).

I'd like the administration to reconsider their decision on the matter, and to consider a punishment for Elfy's confirmed thievery. However, I respect their current decision, and hope this does not damage any relationships between myself and the administration. I apologize to the admins for my brashness, and I apologize to Elfy for destroying his farm.

And yes, the water does technically count as part because I flattened to that point, and Elec built his Bee farm across the river. I agree that Elfy building farmland on the water is a rather bad touch, and I'll fix that myself.

Here's a final word on the rules surrounding unlocked chests, locked chests and taking from either:

Stealing from unlocked chests will not get you banned - But it will definitely get you punished. If you [I]do[/I] steal from one, you will be lightly punished through removal of the item(s) from your inventory.
Stealing from a chest that is obviously unlocked for a purpose (e.g for turtles to deposit) will get you temporarily banned for 1-3 days.

Remember to lock your chests with /lock. That way you won't ever have to worry about your things getting stolen.

Elfy moved out of Edo sometime today, and left a few signs outside my house saying I could use his land. So, naturally, I built a public farm on it.

Honoring the legacy and all that, I guess. Anyway, the place is free to use, and it's free to the city as part of ongoing beautification efforts. I found a little time to hop on the server today, so I figured I might as well do something.
