Oh yeah, if you feel like you just want to help looking up some stuff for the server, look up what alternatives exist to integrate bukkit with the monster pack, and how people are experiencing them working.
The faster we know what alternatives there are and what to pick, the faster we can get the server up :v:

a little word of advice before people start playing monster: install optifine ultra c6 for 1.6.4. the pack sometimes has pretty severe framerate issues with certain specs and optifine helps a whole lot for some reason
I thought optifine had loads of problems with the pack?

Optifine helps FPS (for most people) but because it rewrites a lot of minecraft's rendering, it does cause it's fair share of visual problems - in some cases, GUIs can become entirely unreadable with graphics that are misplaced or outright missing, and you can expect to see a LOT of z-fighting, especially on Thermal Expansion's power and liquid pipes. Haven't seen it on item pipes, but then I don't use optifine myself.

Is there any rough estimate to when the server may or may not come into play? Next week, next month, next couple of months? Or is it just "when it happens"?
Man, people are so anxious when there is no server. When it's finally up, all this excitement suddenly disappears within a couple weeks/months.

Greenhaven (x50 z-1800)
Doom's Tower (z1778 z-30) and
The Torvus Complex (z-63 z-133)
(to name a few notable locations).
The strip of land was the map with Aecor, Lierdagh, and Cuevas. Cuevas and Aecor seem to be the only notable landmark besides spawn remaining.

like finding a huge iron core planet meant you'd never really run out of iron, it'd just take time to get it out and smelted so you could build great things but only if u cared enough about them rather than just bein the ideas guy
I do remember the space docking station that was created though. It was awesome when people had their massive ships hooked up to it and it formed this huge floating structure.
The concept you describe sort of sounds like that Tekkit Big Dig Pack where you still had to dig for resources, but the clusters of ores were large, so it never felt like work.

Look at all those roads. We built those. Or some of them, anyway. The Traveler's Guild, the company I usurped from Hai2Joo, built a lot of those roads.
I miss those rail networks.They were outstanding.
