Sold my laptop, It's being picked up tomorrow as the server launches...... :suicide: Won't have a new laptop until my order arrives (But that has to be shipped around the entire world so it's gonna take a while) [editline]24th January 2014[/editline] profan I can hear you laughing pls don't
May bring 2-4 people along. How far is the world border here? Please add eevor to the whitelist.
May bring 2-4 people along. How far is the world border here and is this whitelisted?
Read the OP.
May bring 2-4 people along. How far is the world border here and is this whitelisted?
The world border is 6KM, asking that is fair game :v: (wasn't in the OP until I added it just now) But for the rest, read the OP!
I haven't played much with world border, does this limit the nether as well?
I haven't played much with world border, does this limit the nether as well?
Well, we haven't put a world border on the nether as of right now. Since the main map is held on a ram disk, we limit the space it can take up in order to make sure we don't run out of space. So that part you won't need to worry about unless it starts taking up > a gigabyte or something :v: (the nether that is) I assume weird things may happen if you try to drop out of the nether when at a location in the nether that would normally get you outside the border into the normal world, haven't tested it myself.
If Mystcraft is enabled, make sure to disable/block the "Book Binder" block. The rest is fine.
If Mystcraft is enabled, make sure to disable/block the "Book Binder" block. The rest is fine.
pls don't do this ty
Personally, I would just disable mystcraft all together. On a FTB server a while ago, all it seemed to do was cause problems. Also 11 AM launch time :( I'll be in class from 10:30 to 3:30. GG

GG
My reasoning for disabling the Book Binder: Custom ages cannot be created, meaning it is an admin-only thing for creative. >Custom ages won't be filling up the server's space ridiculously, as it is the server will have probably no less than SIX different dimensions(Overworld, Nether, End, The Promised Land, The Deep Dark and the Twilight Forest) Still enables the use of Mystcraft linking books.

The last FTB server I played on was down constantly to clean out the Mystcraft worlds.
Why hello there.
there is a mod in the modpack we'll use with a craftable portal which brings you to a dimension of nothing but the underground. You spawn in a small square box in a solid layer of stone. Digging up gets you to bedrock, down to a large 30 layers big area of nothing. At the bottom of that is a floor of cobble, and underneath that a fuckton of caves + ores. [editline]24th January 2014[/editline] and the portal is cheap too, only requiring fucktons of cobble (>8000) and some...interesting... ingots made from iron ingots + a diamond.
Is there a complete list of mods that will be on the server, and how do I join it? I might join again as well. Name is MaskedStranger, if we still need to be whitelisted.
we'll use the Monster pack (listed in the FTB launcher). As far as I know Profan didn't add any mods that weren't already on(DO NOTE: some mods are disabled by default, but can be enabled by clicking the edit mod pack button. For example biomes o plenty)
cant wait to blow up steam boilers again :v:

To bee or not to bee, that is the question.
To bee or not to bee, that is the question.
I have a feeling that Dr. Bees might make a triumphant return to the world of Profan this season...
Are we going to have that large map on your website again like we did before?
I'm gonna play around with rotarycraft. You spawn with a book of it.
I'm gonna play around with rotarycraft. You spawn with a book of it, and as far as I know you can get the most ingots per ore out of the extractor included in the mod 1 ore has an average of 6-7 ingots and a nether ore around 9 :v:
That's true, but the power required for that is kinda ridiculius. Each step of the extraction process requires a different amount of torque and speed, so the only way to run all extraction steps at once is to give it enough power to satisfy all of the individual requirements at once, meaning the highest speed required and the highest torque required, so you end up needing a huuge amount of power.
if you got the highest torque and speed requirement met, all the processes will work. [editline]24th January 2014[/editline] and it is actually fairly cheap to power 1 extractor, I played around with it and it worked fine [editline]24th January 2014[/editline] The biggest issue I have with it is that every single block has a custom model, and some have quite complicated ones as well. It'll be really hard to main a good FPS with a medium sized base.
the amount of ram it eats is fucking crazy.
the amount of ram it eats is fucking crazy.
I recommend increasing the amount of RAM allocated to the game to 2-4 GB :v: Won't run very well at all with just 1 GB at least, can be adjusted in the options tab in the launcher.
