Absolutely. Please don't take our eager to play as an attack, but instead as a pat on the back for running such a succesful server. If we didn't love the work you guys do to maintain it, nobody would be here cheering you on :) Everyone here understands and respects that you have other real life commitments that take precedence over fixing the server, and we wouldn't want you to neglect that just because we're bored. Take your time!
Man, I love you guys :v: We will do our best to restore the server to working order, within the time I can put into it of course :smile:
Not to add more to your plate, but we've just found out that 1.0.9 of Monster includes an updated version of KAMI that includes a number of pretty awesome things, so I'd like to request on behalf of the Thaumaturge Guild that we move forward to said version if possible. I don't believe any block or item IDs have been changed, only config options that relate to mod options (though, naturally, please test if you do decide to update just to be safe :v:) It also re-enables the Knight Phantom that was disabled for the Monster launch because of attack syncing issues (the boss is multiple mobs that act as one, it's pretty neat) And fixes a crash with the fiery pick crashing servers if you also have silk touch on it.
SO CLOSE! ;A;
If it's any consolation, this is the best server I've ever played on. Keep up the good work and take as much time as you need :dance:
I see the server is up, however, I can't seem to join due to so many missing files.. What is happening. Also, I do find that Profan's Humble FTB Monster V1 server is one of my favourite servers to play on and I will wait as long as possible for it to be up. However, I do hope it is up sooner rather than later. :D
when i tried to login i had whole bunch of missing ids came up on my screen.
SO CLOSE! ;A;
Though it's not my server to run, I've been checking to a possible solution on this by checking mismatches between server and client configs for 1.0.9 client/server and 1.0.7 client (can't seem to backdate the server files to 1.0.7) There are no differences in the microblock block-add config files between 1.0.7 client and 1.0.9 server, and I'm currently about to check the 1.0.9 client against the server. If there's no differences, it may be that the server has updated and not updated it's configs (which, while it retains modified settings, also means it won't get updated to the 1.0.9 defaults), and if there is a difference, that's probably the answer and it's FTB's fault.. This is going off that the server has updated, however, if Profan decides to correct me otherwise then this bit of testing is for naught. [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] There seems to be no differences. It appears the server may have updated without updating config files. [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] Oh dear, just retried the world I tried earlier and I'm now getting blockID errors 14228, 507, 2467, 16974, 2784, 3739 and 9281 are all missing, from CalclaviaCore, RotaryCraft, Dynamic Tanks, Chisel and RotaryCraft, and 7006 is different between client and world, though I have no idea what mod it's from. It worked flawlessly before, damnit. [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] I did just check the FTB developer posts to be sure, a world reset is recommended but not required, strictly because of some changes to worldgen that would cause nasty chunk boundaries at the edge of the old generation - but we've generated the whole explorable overworld, haven't we?

So no nasty chunk boundaries. I really don't think the terrain changes will effect us at all
The question is whether it's worth going through with it. If we find some awful error, it might be game over.
If we find some awful error, we'd just start a new map. The server's been on Monster for, what, less than 2 weeks? It's not the end of the world to start over that fairly small distance and that's coming from someone who both dislikes world resets and is part of the Thaum guild who've spent a considerable length of time planning and working on the Thaum Guild building.

Might start playing properly again once I've started my current uni projects. Its nice to see so many people from "way back when" playing again.

TBH I would be heartbroken if we start over again but maybe working with others and starting a new might not be a bad thing. Whatever you have to do to get the server up I will agree with :)
I should make myself clear - I don't want a map reset, at all. I just think if you're prepared to quit over the bugs of a buggy modpack, you have no patience.

Just because your time apparently is worthless, it doesn't mean everyone elses is.

Alfie isn't saying that the map just should be reset with no regard to all the things everyone built, so we can play again, he's saying that if the map is corrupted or not playable, we'll make a new map. Alfie seems to misunderstand you by thinking you are quitting because of all the waiting. [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] Chances are I'm misunderstanding everybody :v:

But I think the general consensus is that we want to avoid a map reset as much as possible.

I'm aware he'd be leaving for the new map, not for the wait for the current map. I think it's silly that'd he want to leave if we are forced to a new map. It sucks that time effort is undone, because no it's not worthless, but it's not that big a deal either. I mean, what else would you do? Go to another server and start again there instead? On a related note, Afromana wants to know what exactly "the profan people" have done so far to get the server in it's connectable-but-unusable state.
7:11 PM - Afromana: Wonder why the profan people are being so silent 7:11 PM - Afromana: surely they did SOMETHING 7:11 PM - Alfie: they're probably working on it 7:11 PM - Afromana: just curious what their change was 7:12 PM - Alfie: ask? :v 7:11 PM - Afromana: how silly
Cmon guys, we just need to be patient for a little while longer. Whatever comes, be it a map reset or something else, we need to accept that it is what it is and theres no changing it.
I'd just like to throw this in the sea of comments here. I love you guys for running this server. It's obviously pretty high maintenance, but I haven't seen such a well run server than this along with a great community for a long time. Love you guys! [sp]No homo though[/sp]

I turned 'homo' long ago. xD
I am not rebuilding Fin & Nor. That place took me ten hours. If there's a chance this will become common, I'll find something else to play. Here's hoping, eh?
Lets not jump to conclusions here shall we? Lets just wait till Profan sorts everything out.
I'm just stating my position here. I'm in college. I don't have much time for games. I'd rather play something that won't randomly delete what I've done, if I'm going to use my free time for games. I'm sure they'll figure something out, though.
