Thankfully they're a config option, so they can be disabled. Not like it'll make making a fast farm any harder. And as to the ATLauncher drama, it was due to Jeb accidently spreading a false bit of info around, I think.
Oh, you'll also want to disable the Force Wrench. It allows you to move any tile entity by storing the block data in an item drop - which is fine, except there are some crash bugs associated with it. The Block Mover item from Random Things (?) does the same thing sans most of the crash bugs because it stores the data in the block mover item, though it does still crash with ME drives (there's a fuckton of data on those) and sometimes Thermal Expansion machines. Both of which are also crashes with the Force Wrench.
ATLauncher was recently in the middle of a bit of drama for saving login tokens(not details, but tokens idk proper details) from players in order to verify the authenticity of the account. Mojang was not a fan of it.
They were grabbing the login tokens (which are a piece of data saying that you are you, valid for a really short time and containing absolutely no information about your password or even your username), and sending them to their own servers to be redirected to mojang servers as a second check for validity to reduce pirated copies of minecraft being usable with the launcher, as it was causing them server strain. Their temporary copies of the login tokens were deleted as soon as the verification returned which was usually within a second. Since Mojang pointed out that they didn't like them (amung others) doing this, they've actually since removed the feature from the launcher. AT Launcher wasn't actually the cause of the drama beginning, people just decided to pick on it once the drama did begin. Actually playing in singleplayer, I didn't crash with the Block Mover with thermal expansion machines, and I actually can't pick up ME drives. Force Wrench crashed the instant I right-clicked on a redstone furnace, though, probably because the block mover stores the data in it's own item while the force wrench makes a new little item which is.. temperamental. I think I just figured it out, the force wrench seems to crash with any block where additional data causes the block to render differently - thermal expansion machines have data that determine the coloured sides, and conduits of any crash because their data determines the can-connect/cannot-connect/is-connected stuff, as do item transport pipes.
I contacted Profan, here is what he said:
Thursday, June 05, 2014 6:04 PM - Minimal: profan. check the server thread 6:11 PM - Profan: hmm? 6:04 PM - Minimal: there is a big discussion 6:04 PM - Minimal: on the server 6:12 PM - Profan: jesus, the server has turned into an autonomous entity 6:12 PM - Profan: i thought it was dead while i was in project-based coma 6:05 PM - Minimal: hmm 6:13 PM - Profan: to be fair, i'm completely uninterested in minecraft as it is 6:13 PM - Profan: but if people on the server are invested enough and they seem to be 6:13 PM - Profan: i might set it up again on another pack 6:06 PM - Minimal: :3
I like how we've just kind of decided "Hey Profan, change the server for us."
I like how we've just kind of decided "Hey Profan, change the server for us."
Well, I can't guarantee any timeframe but if it appears like the majority do want a change (and it seems that way), I'll be making some plans. I'll definitely need to appoint some new server admins as i'll be travelling a lot during the summer and I'm generally not that interested in the server, but since I know you guys are I might as well keep it up.

I'm assuming you're referring to in-game ops rather than those with FTP access because my understanding of almost anything extends my ability to make use of it.
Hmmmm...
Hmmmm...
sry .rich but your just never here :V I think Alfie here is best for convenience sake.
I look forward to a new pack and building something new with people again as we have a lot of people wanting it. I'm not bothered with the mods or the launcher, they all have flaws and good things about them. All I ask is blood magic or some nice Thaumcraft addons as well as mods up to date mods like enderIO as they now have AE cables in the conduits
I hereby announce that with the introduction of Ars Magica, Blood Magic and Witchery, the Thaum Guild is going to be renamed to The Brotherhood of Shiny Particle Effects.
for tech whos going to lead the tech guild
I shall lead us engineers to riches and glory!
I shall lead us engineers to riches and glory!
All hail Lard, Lord of Rats Nests and Piping Clusterfucks!

I'll probably try and set up a spawn-base.
Domination Corporation! Conquering every damn mod possible
im still here if it counts, got a ton of free time this year to dick around in minecraft
Domination Corporation! Conquering every damn mod possible
you better be arming your base with Rotarycraft freeze rays.
Rotarycraft, or any of Reika's mods aren't in Resonant Rise/Yogscast Complete Pack due to how the mod author made most of his mods incompatible with other mods for some odd reason. That and they're very unoptimized mods, which is also why they failed to get into the pack.
Played around with RotaryCraft on the last pack and it was horrible. Got really far with it with Zaldos, but it had no compatibility with other mods for moving fluids, and the pipes included had infinite storage and worked poorly. The mod had very little documentation at the time, and we had to move all our rotarycraft machines away from our main base and underground because they introduced a fuckload of FPS lag.
And those sounds!
Ah, wasn't aware of that. Shame about RotaryCraft really, some really cool concepts for blocks etc.
Yeah. But on the upside, Mekanism introduces some pretty cool stuff, and there's also Big Reactors, which allows for insane power generation if you set it up right. And they're multiblock, to top it off. It even has Steam Turbines as an option! And there's also mods to combine Thaumcraft with Technology, so you can use Thaumcraft stuffs/Thaumic Tinkerer/Forbidden Magic stuffs to generate power from raw magical power!
Which is the most tech oriented pack nowdays,I am kinda out of touch.
I've dabbled with Mekansm in the past. It gets bonus points for A. Having a good teleport system. B. An expensive 5x ore-processing system and C. ROBOT PETS.
Oh, yes, the Robot pets. The cutest part of the mod. They have their own standard chest inventory, a smelter, and they let you craft stuff! Useful little fellas.
so we have tech guild and a magic guild so when we have the new server up?
Wait til Profan sees how many people are up for this and when he has enough time irl then he'll probably sort stuff out. We also need to all agree on a pack
