There's Cartoon animals and then there's Furrys.
One is an adorable form of stylisation the other is some weird fanbase who feel the need to inject their fandom into everything.
Draw silly little cartoon animals all you want, but just keep it where it's wanted and all will be fine.

Round was running a bit slow as captain, so I gave the AI a fun gimmick for the round.

The way I see it fetishes are better left private, you may get respect for putting them out there but it shouldn't be expected and it isn't a right.

Furry is a fetish, and should be treated as such. It should be kept private. I don't understand why furries think it's normal to tell their friends/family that they are a furry, it's a fetish! Do they tell them what other fetishes they're into too?

On the topic of furry spacemen, I [I]really[/I] fucking hope that this doesn't lead to a Baystation situation on /tg/. By that, I mean it just starts out as an awkward alien race, but it eventually gets weird powers like immunity to fire and finally gets some OP shit like 10 damage stunning claws and becomes full blown fursona power fantasy.
Anyway, back to the topic of actual SS13, I really miss the medical and engineering assistants. They were very cool to have around when all other jobs were taken and people playing them seemed infinitely less greytidey than the greyshirts.
I went for atmos again
I started as one, with someone else being one too. I asked him real quick if he was new to this business and said "well definitely no autism here for sure". I'm like ok and go to the mix chamber and start replacing pumps with pipes
He then call me out and say something like "HEY waitaminute that's not in the starter guide".
I reply to him with " its my own setup" and he goes "ah OK cool" and fucks off to maint
So I turn on the plasma pump thing and plasma starts by flooding cargo, to which the ai quickly notices and sets us both to arrest.
As I come back to atmos, I get arrested by an officer and play it cool (a la "What's wrong officer" and other kind things" and the officer remarks my gratitude.
So I'm in brig and they also bring in the other atmos guy. Suddenly that officer from earlier starts checking my backpack for suspicious shit, to which I forgot to get rid of the pumps I unwrenched
He lets me go saying he found nothing and I go back to the plasma pump thing and set it back on

It's not just the ERP side.
Here's the butt of the issue. (Shameless copy paste from something I posted on reddit)
Someone has walked into a room and said "Hi I am different from all of you! Please acknowledge this!" now what if a character logged onto an ss13 server and declared themselves a car fan? And they chose to play their special car driver species who start with a free car. They drive around in this car looking for other car drivers and band with them, forming groups of car drivers. They gang up on other non car drivers because one of them slighted another fellow car driver, and constantly use car driver emotes such as "Clarksonator revs his engine at the sight of carfan21"
Lets imagine the same scenario with an Anime fan, they join an ss13 server and talk about anime all day long, they play the game with a special anime character species and go around looking for other anime fans forming groups of anime fans. They attack and wound non-anime fans outside the group for so much as slighting a fellow anime fan and use anime emotes constantly.
It's not a specific hatred of furries, it's the group clique thing in general, the fact that people HAVE to be different by an order of magnitude. This is what annoys people, why do you need a sub community within an existing community to cater for something very specific, SS13 is already something very specific, if you want to carter to SS13 for car-fans go make your own community, don't try to worm your little cliquey 'isms into an existing community and demand respect. This is about SS13; not Anime, nor Cars nor furry creatures.
this is also why in-game xenophobia is a-ok
I've never sexualized anything in this game, even ironically

I thought i'd post here about this update; It's not groundbreaking or anything, but it's going to add a lot more depth to DragonRoll:
