There was a guy named "Supermatter Monitor" and got the core ejected, so we did the only logical thing. Made him a supermatter monitor.
Can you still drag the super matter through the halls? If so, how? There's been a few antag rounds where I tried to detach it, but all the tools I've tried so far don't work
Congrats, you can cry a fucking river. Sounds more like you're mad that a friend of mine ruined your 32x32 pixel party, "imho". Tbh i wouldn't expect any good reply from two canadian, with one having "It's time to chew ass" on his steam description (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Big Dumb American))
Gee, I think we triggered him.
There was a bit of an accident on the shuttle today. [t]http://i.imgur.com/QEWQpNd.png[/t]
I dont understand how ERP did settle in this game in the first place
If I'm not mistaken, a lot of it's the fault of Byond's awful community and the fact that SS13 in its earlier days was full blown "SPAYCE ARPY PLZ NO KILL ^_^". Baystation fostering it for all those years couldn't have helped, either.

You have to understand, a majority (Not all, but read: A majority) of aurora's admins are very socially inept kids between ages 13 to 16 primarily. I'm only making this statement because it's a common occurrence for SS13 admins to get accused of being a socially inept preteen but in Aurora's case there was a private dox on a number of their admins a while back including fb profiles which are still active. So you just have the keep this in mind when dealing with them and their antics. That being said about them I think it's clear why they choose SS13 as their medium for erotic role play, although I still think it's hilariously retarded to cybersex at all. Especially on SS13, and it deserves to be laughed at. Not sure what they specifically did to get doxxed either but I can't say I'm surprised based on their history of staff-player relations
I just downloaded this. Looks fun, but I have no clue as to what the hell I'm doing or supposed to do. I'm on Admiral Hippie's server and jackshit is happening, I take it it's running the extended gamemode?

I'd use the fact it's quiet to learn the controls properly and get a general feel for the game, something that's impossible when it gets manic when there's loads of people on.

Unless hippiestation has improved at all (and i don't think it has, i haven't gone on it in a while and i haven't seen any posts about it improving) then it makes for a bad first impression of spacemans.
Goonstation is NOT a good place to learn.
It's a great place for a first impression. That's why he suggested it.
Goonstation is NOT a good place to learn.
It makes for a good first impression. And don't say it's not a good place to learn, they have a really quiet extended server and a huge list of mentors ready to help. Just don't ask them something that can be found on the wiki.
Just don't ask them something that can be found on the wiki.
Don't think I've ever seen people be hostile about any lack of game knowledge unless you ignore them and keep fucking things up.

Hippie is fun though, just don't get disheartened if some cockstain caves your skull in - you can usually read the /tg/ wiki for useful info (although the codebases differ, so stuff might be incorrect) ANYWAYS I was coming here to ask - I'm working on a map and it was working fine, recently ported to hippie code and worked out the kinks, but I have no idea what's the deal with the shuttles - they never arrive. I replaced the /tg/ objects with the shuttle areas, but they never work in game and it cost me a greentext so I have a personal vendetta to fix those fuckers Anyone know the problem/how to fix it/where I can go to look it up?
Goonstation is NOT a good place to learn.
from my experiences on this game, if i had started playing on any other server than goonstation i probably wouldn't have kept playing. honestly i wish i could go back to when i didn't know anything about the game, i had a lot more fun when i didn't have any idea what i was doing
Getting back into SS13 on my new Pc, but getting this
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (byond) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
How I Fix? [editline]10th July 2015[/editline] Holy shit I forgot how laggy SS13 is.
Goonstation is NOT a good place to learn.
Man, my first SS13 round was a guy instructing me how to stuff him in a furnace while I had no clue what the fuck was going on. Thanks Goon xoxo
My first round was me getting force fed a sleepy pill that for some reason spawned in the locker room and getting stabbed to death with a screw driver in maint
My first round was me getting force fed a sleepy pill that for some reason spawned in the locker room and getting stabbed to death with a screw driver in maint
that'd be a ??? pills, don't eat those they tend to be deadly.

If I had played on /tg/, there's no way I would have stayed. It was a clunky, laggy mess all across the board, but the extra features of Goon made me keep coming back. Plus, Goonstation's constant death teaches people patience.
Goon is way laggier than tg code for me. TG code can look laggy, but you don't find yourself moving too far or the wrong way cause of it usually.
Man I don't know what these guys are saying. Goon is a GREAT place to start. Granted it's not how I started, many years ago, but I have since introduced many of my friends to space station 13 through goon. It's got admins who are experienced and don't jump the gun on things or get assblasted about things that other people are doing. Even if you break a rule they probably won't get assblasted about it, and mentors are there too who are happy to help players who have questions about the game. It's very welcoming on the main menu. The character creation is easy to understand and fun to use. None of those 'Skillz points', flavor text, races, limb adjustments, medical/security records etc that may be tough to understand for someone playing for the first time. It's got an easy to learn and memorize station and for the most part it's clear what everything is to most new players. It doesn't enforce RP and it doesn't enforce non-RP. That's why you have a lot of people who play in-character on goon but they're not doing a whole bunch of /me shit or taking it too seriously, and can go out of character at any time which is a super friendly environment for learning and interacting with other players. It has really good code, most things work well and are learner-friendly It has that godly Equip/Swap button so you don't have to undress and drop your ID all over the floor just to change uniforms It has a friendly little robot near arrivals that gives you a guided tour of the station, should you ask it to, and gives you a little bit of information. The rules are simple and clear, and the gameplay is super relaxed. Usually nobody gives a fuck if you don't know what you're doing. Even if for some reason you're brand new and get selected as captain, geneticist, chief engineer, or any job really nobody will give you a hard time if you're not sure what to do or if you fuck up. The wiki has a nice introduction to the game and a helpful FAQ, some guides that can really interest people in the games mechanics and some neat rundowns on all the jobs available in the jobs page. Sure if you're new on goonstation you may wind up dead or murdered very quickly, however, Welcome to Space Station 13 and speaking for me personally half the fun of the game when I started was seeing what wacky ways I could die each round. But for the most part on goon for me, and for all the friends I have introduced to the game, the odds of getting killed by something that isn't your own fault within the first 30 minutes are usually low for the average player. So yeah I would say goonstation is both great to learn and be introduced to Space Station 13.
I fixed it now.
And you're not going to tell us how?
Holy shit Byond is not loading the ad properly so I can't even join a server. [editline]10th July 2015[/editline]
And you're not going to tell us how?
Connected through the Byond client instead. [editline]10th July 2015[/editline] also which tg code station is in currently? hippie right?
Atlasstation is supposedly more stable.
Also goon has multiple servers so if you die you can hop on another goon station.
I would suggest Goon to any new players. Pretty much everyone there is pretty friendly and willing to help, and the mentors are chill as hell and will answer any of your questions. I've never had any problems with the staff (unless you count when I first started playing and I was kind of a shit). Plus it's got really fun stuff to do (space exploration, science, mechanics, etc) that's not crazy difficult to learn, and as everyone said it doesn't enforce RP at all so you can do pretty much whatever you want.
