First round as an AI, and all I did was a doorknob.
How do you make playing AI fun, you can't even do any projects in the off-time.

Which server was this on.
I know on /tg/ and some bay based ones you can write scripts for telecomms to make messages come out differently, that may stop some of the boredom.

As the AI, you are the silicon, immortal demigod of the station, limited only by your creativity, technological know-how, and desire for shenanigans and espionage. As a mainly silicon player, when I play AI, I generally do the following:
1. Turn all the station intercoms to your custom frequency, turn the microphones on, and the speakers off. People are idiots and don't use those unless they have to, so it helps you to have omnipresent ears around the station.
2. Using your handy enslaved cyborgs, go get the monitor decryption key from the RD's office and jack into the PDA messaging server. Nothing's more hilarious than reading the horrible love notes crew members send that they think is private. "ooh let's go murder this guy." BUSTED.
3. If you've become a rampant psychopath or have a law which allows you to murder, try disabling the timer mechanism and safety on medbay doors. Most people who go in there are slow and will be easily crushed by 200 PSI of door-shaped death and gore.
4. As mentioned before, you could always try your hand at telecomms, making a script that replaces all mention of the word captain with the word "asshat". I did that once, and hoo boy. that was pretty funny.
5. Finally, try interacting with the crew. As station AI, they're running around inside of you, so you might as well get to know them. I tend to play trivia games or scavenger hunts with my crews. If anything, a good talk here and there relieves the boredom of being an omnipresent machine god.
Always remember to be pleasant and chipper, even while you're slowly replacing all the air in the station with invisible CO2 gas to kill the meatbags. Every now and then you'll get a fun law change which will shake things up, but besides that, your job is mostly a whistleblower and environment controller.
make sure the roboticists arent making the borgs independent of you, it's like having your children stolen from you

Testing out some of the new cosmetic Predator masks on CM.
Any ideas for additional masks/armor sets?
does the predator have the gun on his shoulder
does the predator have the gun on his shoulder
Yeah, it's togglable (like the wrist blades) and uses up their energy to fire.
Predators are only being tested in the Alpha and aren't openly available. They'll be whitelisted in the final release.
that is brill
The Colonial Marines alpha is really great. The changes from the standard build are huge, and you'll notice them all right off the bat. So far I think my favorite rework is the Sulaco's design, feels straight out of the movie.

edit:
Also tail attacks. Risky as fuck, but if you hit a marine with a fully revved tail, you'll slice their head right off.
so is CM any fun to just hopi into? I love me some hippie, and used to play TG religiously before it went to shit, and i've got a shitty laptop for right now so i wanna get back into ss13

I was Death, the good AI, that round. It was fun, but the humans I was with met a tragic end when we escaped N.S.A. by going through a disposals pipe only to realize after a few seconds that the singularity ate cargo.
I can't stand the massive amount of shitlery on Hippie anymore, can someone point me to an actually good server with a good playerbase?

Vorestation
[sp]go for Goon/LLJK, steer clear of /tg/ and Bay[/sp]
Hows vg these days? Are they running modded or unmodded tg?

Goon is pretty meh IMO

I initially thought you were the syndi AI because of your name, then NSA decided to channel shodan while I waited for the shuttle to leave in the comfort of the engie escape pod along with the body of an innocent atmos tech I sadly had to kill
Apparently you can cult xenos. on vg that is.
Hows vg these days? Are they running modded or unmodded tg?
Modded baycode.
Apparently you can cult xenos. on vg that is.
I remember like a year and a half ago on /tg/ we did this by accident. Story time!
Be the Research Director like always
Max capped most of research about the time one of the admins asked for prayers
I get culted and wander about my department seeing if anyone else it.
1 Roboticist, 2 people in Xenobiology, and 1 telescience guy are culted
Notice there's an Alien Empress in the pen with monkies and face huggers.
Fuck off out of there and wait around a bit before mining shows up with the mother load.
I make a durand as fast as I can and outfit it with my typical loadout, Ultra AC2,Energy Rely and Repair Drone
Security at this point has rushed Xenobiology and they notice a mech stomping and near and are like "FUCK YES!"
They open the door and begin arresting them, the HoS enters as well.
Durand opens fire on security and downs the HoS and 4 officers.
OHSHIT
According to one of the admins they didn't fucking expect the durand to do that, didn't even
know a cultist(Me) was driving it.
The xenos were actually spawned BEFORE the culting began so this was purely an unintended effect.
So we noticed some of the alien larva that popped from the culted monkeys were also culted.
We waited for a few minutes for them to evolves and low and fucking behold the Alien Drone was culted. And they could use runes.
The end result of the round was xenos and cult members summoning nar-nar.
Needless to say that was the best round ever and only twice it's ever been done again on /tg/.
I know a lot of people here thought that Hippie's medbay was super easy to break into, we'll thats been fixed

Say hello to the 'new' medbay lobby
Why would you put rwalls there for Medbay? Medbay is supposed to be somewhat easy to break into.
Thank goodness. It was too easy for urist mcgreytide to just break down chemistrys windows and fuck everything up

Whenever the Engineer kept trying to fortify Medbay for no reason I would robust the shit out of him.
If I catch anyone else doing it they're getting the same reasoning.
Medbay needs to be broken into because usually the Doctors are shit or any other valid criteria.

It still is, all it takes is a quick emag or hack and medbay is open for everyone. Hell, people are always coming and going to the point where you can just walk in after some doctor or chemist walks out.

Rwalls are still overdoing it though.

Thats true, but arent engineers also pretty shit a lot of the time too? Engineering isnt too easy to break into.
I think the fact that people cant do their job properly isnt a good reason to let a bunch of random people break into places easily.
I don't see the problem. It's still piss easy to hack the doors, finding the wires takes a minute or two tops. Sure multitools are rarer than welding tools, but that's the point, to limit the amount of greytiding.
