Someone made a pretty extensive guide for a lot of the jobs in lifeweb in a post here a few months ago. I'm trying to find it again but it's eluding me.
They have a wiki, whenever I figure out how to connect to their server without getting banned as someone above has mentioned, I'm gonna check it out, reading some rather hilarious stories from people playing it. Oh, connection failed.
LFWB only autobans you if you log in as an alt. You're also going to have to either wait for the next week if you get Praise the Lorded (alting), or just go to the Russian Overlords of the Official Discord channel, which you can find on the wiki. Also, yeah. The party is over now. Gotta wait until next week for things to start up again.
it sucks so much that its only up on the weekends. I want to play it so much but it's not there :(
When does the party start? [editline]11th January 2016[/editline] Friday to Sunday?
When does the party start? [editline]11th January 2016[/editline] Friday to Sunday?
Yeah. For the most part, it extends into Monday, though only as Great Migration, where there's no official antags and everyone is a migrant in the caves.
Speaking of Lifeweb, weren't there some dude on FP who worked on some medieval type stuff based off SS13? What happened to that?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/gw912Gx.png[/t] I admire SS13 for community-driven anarchy and dramatic scenes of corridors of garbage dumps, cannibalism, disciplined mass-ignorance and forcing the one-man janitorial team to work overtime.
Yup, it's only up on weekends. Sometimes it'll be up on mondays, but usually only on weekends.
That feeling where after five rounds of chaos, death and crashing you have the perfect uneventful round to make a Gygax when Mining decides not to do their fucking job. :hairpull:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/gw912Gx.png[/t] I admire SS13 for community-driven anarchy and dramatic scenes of corridors of garbage dumps, cannibalism, disciplined mass-ignorance and forcing the one-man janitorial team to work overtime.
Oh hey, there's me in the corner. I'm crying while printing out Ripley boards because mining is dead.
For real?
It's worth noting that any ban except an alt ban is only for 1 second. It's just so they can tell you why you're not getting in without having to let you in, first.
Dude gibs me with a maxcap and only gets a catban for it. okay
whats this mood system they have sounds awfully familiar to motives on goon
It works like The Sims, except that it places a decreasing stamina cap instead of reduced health. If you don't solve the issues that your character has in their mind for while, they become easily tired and less motivated to perform actions. It's a pretty neat and creative mechanic. [editline]11th January 2016[/editline]
Isn't there pretty much jobs that's just that in Lifeweb? ERPing with people? I skimmed the wiki at one point and recalled some hooker job or something. Also, out of curiosity, would doing ERP pixel-sex actually improve your character's mood?
You can avoid ERP entirely if you don't play the role of a maid, hooker, or family member.
Can I stab ERPers with shit stained daggers without getting banned?
See my post on the last page. Lifeweb has no rules. You don't get banned for anything, except for alting. [editline]11th January 2016[/editline] Two pages, ago, that is, apparently. :dog:
Can I stab ERPers with shit stained daggers without getting banned?
Yup. No rules after all.
God damn, I wonder how they keep it all in check.
Honestly idc about erp, as long as I can beat on fuckers who try to fondle me
The thing is that rape is 100% a-okay rule wise so you better be able to defend yourself well if that's what you intend to do I remember one of my friends told me about some guy who would run around and rape pretty much everyone he saw as well as all his kids every single round he played to the point where it was pretty much standard procedure to immediately cave his head in with anything you could find if you spawned next to him, or else you were gon' get it next
[t]http://i.imgur.com/fuI1D4N.png[/t] brave clown holds his position while aliens roam the station brave clown shitposts over announcements and opens up emergency access to maintenance brave clown goes down with a laser gun in his mouth as the aliens break in screaming no bananas for aliens
God damn, I wonder how they keep it all in check.
They don't The player base might be toxic in ooc but not IC Expect someone to try to push you down the moat or a pit filled with piss for the lulz though, but alot less random murders like ss13
God damn, I wonder how they keep it all in check.
It's hard for shitlers to abuse other people without getting themselves killed by the ultra-lethal environment, and people who stick around seem to be more dedicated and less shitlery.
I took a look at the Gangs gamemode on the wiki. I noticed this:
You cannot recruit anyone who is loyalty implanted, or already belongs to a gang. Heads of staff, however, can be recruited.

Rehabilitation Like revolution, loyalty implants can be used to deconvert gangsters. Unlike revolution, however, the implant is destroyed after a successful deconversion, so you will need to use two of them to prevent them from getting recruited again.
For the love of GOD someone change this to work like deconverting revs. At most, you MIGHT be able to order 3 extra loyalty implant cases in a given round. Assuming cargo hasn't been compromised, which it likely has. Counting the case that starts in the Armory, that's 12 loyalty implants you have to work with on a station with 80+ people. Having them break after deconverting people effectively cuts the number of people security can recruit in half. This on it's own would be bad enough, but gang leaders and lieutenants can buy Implant Breakers for relatively cheap to convert loyalists anyway. I don't know how many 'influence points' gangs accumulate every three minutes, but if it's roughly the same rate as supply points, then it takes around 1/5 the time to buy one implant breaker than it does to buy a case of three implants. Keeping in mind the loyalty implant cases have an odd number, and in this gamemode it takes 2 implants to properly deconvert people, this is really shitty. Oh and the supply shuttle actually takes two minutes to travel to and from the station, a delay the gang bosses don't have to worry about. There's also several gangs, each accumulating their own points to spend on these things. Are security supposed to have a chance?
Wait, doesn't this mean Gangsters can unconvert the opposing factions?
If you use loyalty implants on them first, yes. I don't feel like that's a good enough reason for it to be the way it is, you can already remove loyalty implants via surgery. Gangs really don't need such a piss easy way of getting rid of loyalty implants.

Every time you knock someone out in this way there is a %50 chance to deconvert them. Also in Revs the idea is to kill the heads, whereas in gangs it;s all about making a gang, revs are more of a threat to the heads than a gang. Revs can build up their rev army MUCH faster than a gang can because all they need is a flash as opposed to the pen which has a sizeable cooldown.
so is there any good reason lifeweb is off on the weekdays?
On Hippiestation they removed the ability to buy the multiverse. to replace this, me and a coder made a new artifact. The Moonlight Great sword. An okey melee weapon that charges as you hit people. After 5 hits on someone that is alive the blade will be fully charged. Your next attack will shoot out 5 energy pellets that deals 15 brute each. The sword is currently being tested and what not so if you get the chance id like to hear some feed back

I just started playing this on Hippie station, oh my god this game is hilarious.
you replaced buying the multiverse with a weapon that will still be garbage compared to a charged stun baton riiiight
To be fair everything is garbage against a stun baton in melee, the thing is a 1 hit knockdown, how do you beat that without it being a 1 hit kill
