I dunno where you are gettin this Viro is removed stuff- I just joined a round on /tg/ and Virology was an option in job prefs and there was no mention of it in the changelogs.
Maybe it's only bagil
So on TGstation they literally removed virology.
I mean literally removed diseases, virology and such.
"NOW WE HAVE LESS CODE ISSUES GUYS"
removing entire features for the sake of a reduction of CODE ISSUES BONER. nice software development...
Isn't virology like super important?
I mean, it kind of makes healing more interesting for doctors, right?
Not to mention it's a very advanced and interesting feature. Wouldn't it be more sensible to just organize everything oh who am I kidding they're too fucking lazy and stupid to do anything right.

Uh, you mean there's an unmerged PR up that removes virology, with heavy opposition to it? That's a pretty big exaggeration on your part
As if anyone needed more reason to leave the worst server on ss13
I'll never understand why some people get so rabid at the thought of there being other servers that work differently from each other, instead of just enjoying the game
Lmao I love tg code, the community is shit
Preach more though
I just don't get where all the hate is coming from?
The server is just not remotely as good as it used to be. Ive played there for years and it was my first station, it used to be -prime-. Only reason I play it now is cause LW is down on weekdays and I don't like the 'lmfao I griff u' attitude of hippie

In honesty, even though I prefer /tg/station as a server I agree it is kind of a compromise. If I could run my own or play on one that was more to my liking I would play it in a heartbeat.
What's a good server for a new guy? So far I've tried Yogstation and one of Goon's servers.

pretty much, i mean im not lying when i say i love the code, way better than goon imho and its what i learned on, i just wish there was a good rp-centric server that utilized a similar branch
Virology is also a very effective crowd control weapon as an antagonist. Like 90% of the station run in and out of the Medbay every round. Everyone infect each other and will make the job on the medicinal department a hell.
If you stack three or so healing virii onto yourself and get some good armor It becomes nigh impossible to kill you. Stack that with either hull or a few hyperzine virii and you become a super soldier capable of survivng 4 horror form lings wailing on you for 5 minutes with no damage

You mean use the same virus on yourself but with different names by stacking, or something else?

Best server is 127.0.0.1 or none! The game's community is slowly devolving into bat shit insane asylum freaks
Paradise: Furrydise, literally. When I Ahelped about IC racism they told me calling a cat a "smelly kitten" is fine. Also adds shitty overpowered fox races with a laughable lore. Smgdh
Citadel is Paradise*10, which is a terrible, but true thing to say.
Hippie: Repetitive as all hell. Everyone playing is predictable and powergamers. They will usually try to piss you off by being total assholes. So long as they don't crit you it's considered an IC issue. Also because the admins have a very low ban quota they will ban you if you do something like crit someone and heal them shortly after (and I mean five seconds kind of short) because you're torturing them.
Yog: Will ban you for using common cuss words ironically. 13 years old admins. Enough said, except:

Goon: Same as Hippie but as bad as Yog. Toxic community and overall shit admins (imo). This is one of said admins: Popecrunch... Jesus fucking Christ
/tg/: used to be fun until midst 2014 where they changed rp Level to medium and had someone bribe them 200 DOSH to bring erp back. I've had a time where I was nearly banned for giving a sex change to an asshole detective instead of killing him.
Colonial Marines is, well, colonial marines. Every rounds are the same: Bald marines gear themselves, commander gives objectives no one follows (ever) and into the (alien infested) planet you go! There, about 90% of the marines will go full call of motherfuckin' duty and rush north where the aliens are always holed up and spam left click. They end up being more contributive than the rest of the squad who camps the LZ and try to rescue nonexistent survivors. You can also play as a crew member of the NSS DiddleBerries and get beaten by security until someone with a facehugger on his face storms into the room.
And many more. Best you leave before you become one of them
Never actually seen popecrunch ingame but holy fuck put some nsfw tags on that shit, I thought it was gonna be a chatlog or something. Don't see what it has to do with the server either.
I've only had good times on goon though, I wouldn't really say people powergamed, rather that they really like gimmick characters(That are usually the opposite of powerful), and there's generally no hard feelings if someone gets killed, as long as it was in a hilarious fashion, and/or partially their fault(Like I used to bartender with random drinks, like one that icecubed you and teleported you around for a minute or so, sometimes they ended up in space)
I'll let these videos speak for the server though:

I'm even in a couple of them :v:
Lifeweb has got a rather extremely cynical community, but at least they keep their gameplay professional with top-notch unrestricted RP and player-friendly as if there were rules. But with adult content and has a completely different lore, role-playing on Lifeweb is rather a question of morale.

There's just some people who don't like HellMOO-style morality like what's in Lifeweb. The ability to rape people in a multiplayer game is usually frowned upon by people who haven't been hardened to that kind of stuff.

I'm sure it's fair to say that in a post apocalyptic world where even the safest place is still considered as hell, crime rates are going to increase so much that listing the amounts of digits here would break the character limit.
Imagine putting one rich woman and 50 random mans living a shitty life in a square shaped room with no cameras or anything of that sort. How do you think the woman's in Vault 101 get pregnant? Tunnel Snakes. (They'll be there) :poot:.

It's because they KNOW people will get offended by this. Hell, their Patreon has already been nuked with no explanation. They want as few people to know about this as possible. I mean, for most people, the number of people you could ask about Hellmoo could be counted on one hand.
Hellmoo has a yiff command, so good luck finding someone in the space station 13 community to whine about it
Or anyone else for that matter, you can't take a game with a yiff command seriously.
Can you?

I get what you are saying, hah. But in all seriousness, just as "eatdembeanz" said, some of the elements in the game are seen amoral and disgusting by players because they are not tolerant of or not hardened to them.
I've nothing against Lifeweb (the community could try holding their horses though), I'm reflecting on their characteristics and why in general it isn't well-adorned by the SS13 community. See the controversy surrounding pedophilia.

There wasn't any big controversy about pedophilia though, people only used it as an excuse to shit on an otherwise great mod. It isn't well-adorned by the SS13 community because nobody there has ever played it, the only reason they did was sheer curiosity and not having fun. 75% of them quit when they couldn't figure out how to stand up and wanted a better wiki. They'd rather stay comfy in their little chairs playing on the same server over and over again doing the exact same thing every round because on SS13 to git gud all you need to do is spam left click (yes, this applies to machinery and construction)
For the ones that actually had a problem with the sexual content, they're probably blind kids who doesn't know any better, who think the real world is all about living an happy jolly life. Lifeweb is supposed to be an U turn, you expect to survive and become a(n) hero while instead you'll face a darker outcome. It's like living in Iraq irl. Shit is just as bad as lifeweb there. (unless everyone is lying and it's actually paradise) I can name more than one crime that you can do in lifeweb that is worse than rape, that yet people don't give a shit about.

I'd rather know what I'm doing than accidentally blowing up the chemistry because I mixed the wrong chemicals. But hey, this is just an example when playing vanilla SS13 with rules. There are good and bad ways to learn the mechanics of Lifeweb and I needed more time to adapt to the slightly unique keymappings. On Lifeweb the only thing you'd worry about players frowning on your incompetence and on some occasions your inevitable death, because it is more focused on roleplaying and has no constitution of rules other than being a total douchebag ruining the experience of everyone. Which I can guess is repeated acts of OOC:ing IC than LOOC and in any way and reason tampering with the server.
Secondly, not everyone are comfortable with amoral things. But since killing is an amoral thing too, I guess we'd be okay with virtual rape as we do with virtual manslaughter such as Hatred and GTA when you've got nothing to do or simply bored. All it needs time. But it is however a less occurring and unique issue, hence more discomfort around it than the [long dead] moral panic over shooter games. But now I'm speaking for myself.
Either the way. That's just to get out my chest, not everyone is comfortable with everything. I'm putting my hands down on that your response explains the issue well.

the graphics look a lot cooler than i remember if thats SS13
and that glass break looks better than just a bunch of glass under the guy
I love SS13, but fuck me, things have changed. I've been trying to get back into it, but it really feels like it's missing a lot of the aspects I enjoyed about the game, namely the station collapsing into chaos because of the schemes of traitors.
I haven't seen a good traitor scheme in years, or even heard about one. All I see is ebow-esword, gun down, or explode with a bomb. It was never a common thing for traitors to make good schemes, but now I just don't see it at all. I'm not entirely sure where to go. I love Hippiestation's freedom but dislike how the round seems to start in chaos rather than be blasted into it.

Might be Baystation code, I remember windows breaking like that rather than at your character's feet.

Lifeweb. That's the bridge Soulbreakers have to walk through at the start of the round to get out of their Cryosleep area and into their equipment room.
He's also wearing a Soulbreaker helmet and he has a dick, b/c Lifeweb has sprited dicks.
I have to wonder how he went through the window, though. Did a slave escape, and beat the shit out of him? Did a fellow Breaker get tired of his shit? We may never know.
i love the lifeweb sprites in that screenshot
it gives it a way cooler feel than SS13 currently has
aesthetic goes a long way

I actually like LifeWeb because how bleak it is, it really feels like a tile based HellMOO. Only issue I have is that I have to turn the gamma up to eyesore to be able to see where I am going. Pitch blackness works fine in a first person game with really good sound simulation, but no in a tile based game.

I wouldn't call it yiffing though, there are no furry elements in LifeWeb, and thanks god there aren't. Rape can easily be avoided by being robust enough as you wont get banned for robusting for any reason, only thing you get banned for is alting.
