I like how one is just AMERICA
Holy shit, Lawligagger. Been going through some of your videos... Admiral Hippie is yours, right? Simply amazing. Instant sub. You asshole.

That was such an awesome dick move, you fucker. I can't stop watching it. Slightly old but gold.
Only like a half year old.
In retrospect I meant to say "not that old but gold". Sometimes, the fact that English isn't my first language slips out.

Alright, so a while ago I noticed there was a distinct lack of a video guide series. I've taken it on my self to try and make one myself and this is my first attempt at doing so.

Though maybe you don't want newbies flooding Hippie Station. Great format, though, I love it.
I get the distinct feeling that newbies would be eaten alive on Hippie. Also the clown needs to honk when punched.
I get the distinct feeling that newbies would be eaten alive on Hippie.
I tend to feel like a bit of a shit for advertising my server, I made it a distinct goal to avoid advertising it in my own on the video.
I tend to feel like a bit of a shit for advertising my server, I made it a distinct goal to avoid advertising it in my own on the video.
Yeah, but are you still going to make tutorials about server-specific things like the supermatter engine?
Yeah, but are you still going to make tutorials about server-specific things like the supermatter engine?
Since the game is split up into 3 different major codebases (4 if you count the shitpile that is paracode) It'd be pretty easy to make some basic guides to all 3 IMO.

When you say 'distinct lack' the truth is that it's closer to nothing at all. Any guides that ARE out there are absolutely horrible, and you have the skill to make them very good.

CMO is such a fun job on /tg/, you can be helpful in so many different ways, and you get a lot of leeway in what you want to do. Want to sub in for a chemist and cook up ridiculous amounts of styptic, charcoal and synthflesh? Go right ahead. Want to man the medbay foyer and treat the hordes of assistants who were manhandled by security? Grab a medkit and get to work! Someone get mauled by carp in space with their suit sensors on? Hit up command EVA for a space suit and go get mauled by the same carp that killed them. Someone dragging a freshly dead security officer past you to cloning? Save him the headache of needing to wait to finish cloning/getting dressed/fixing cellular damage and whip out your compact defib on em. Hell, since you have the only defib that's not incredibly cumbersome, go run around hunting dead bodies and bring them right back into the action. Best of all, hardly anyone ever takes the job, so I get it 9/10 times I want it (even when joining late).
Pretty sure Baycode and (current) paracode are descended from /tg/.
Yeah all branches off r4407 are pretty similar as the only major forks were /tg/ and bay, which despite their differences are still quite similar overall. Goon1 is way way different though, what with a lot of consoles just being terminals and a complete rewrite of atmos code among some of the larger changes.
but aint /tg/ becoming bay slowly?
but aint /tg/ becoming bay slowly?
It's becoming shitbay because the coders don't give a fuck about the rest of the community and the admins get shit on by players. They're getting implements that bay would probably laugh at and say "It's a game."
Goon honestly would need several video guides just because of how complex it is, To this day I still can't work basic DWAINE shit.
they got a good guide on how to operate the dwaine computers in the artifacts lab but the artifact that i actually activated blew up the whole lab and the captain so i don't think i want to touch artifacts anymore
heads up paprika was just banned from the forums, irc, and gameservers the headcoders also banned him from #coderbus and the github for /tg/station
The plot thickens
Are they gonna fix the damage he done to tgstation now?
heads up paprika was just banned from the forums, irc, and gameservers the headcoders also banned him from #coderbus and the github for /tg/station
It's about time to be honest.
My prayers to exadv (and bitching at XSI and co) have been answered.
If I ever wanted to make some misc sounds for hippie are there any outstandingly bad ones right now that I could replace? Or anything that might be needed? Im fucking around with sound right now and could use something extra to do/go and record.
