Space Station 13 v11 - Admiral Hippie does bad videos

I already got the HoS gun PR merged a small while ago.
The gun itself saw a lot of changes throughout the PR's history as I adapted feedback and advice, the final gun has 5 Stun Rounds, 10 Laser Rounds or 20 Disable rounds. It spawns in the HoS's Personal Locker and is a antagonist objective to steal.

Then some sick nasty skill here:

(Forgive the artifacts as I wasn't prepared to record. It just happened to happen.)

So, from what I understand, paprika/sociopath mcgee implemented 'goonchem' and the general populace hated him for that; but what exactly was it? Was it goonchem with all the little secrets, rituals, ingredients, etc? or..? Me only playing goonstation and chemistry being my favorite thing about that, I'm just curious.
I mean I can understand either way why a different community might hate it, and I can honestly say I hate paprika from the stories I've heard of him.

Imagine you play on a server with relatively vanilla SS13 code, everyone that's played has been on for many months or even years playing SS13. Now think about a coder who'd hardly ever play at all, and really do no play testing with a control group of players. He then rolls out a massive change that completely changes how you do medical, chemistry, cyro etc. Think about this change having MASSIVE feedback on it being bad and changing it back, and instead of doing so they don't because they know better than the players. Essentially that's what happened. Many players didn't WANT goonchem, let alone it was never tested in the first place and ended up breaking a lot of shit on the sever. That's why they played at /tg/, to not play at goon but ya know force another servers feature into a crowd who didn't want it is retarded.
The changes to TGstation was pretty much the reason why I stopped playing SS13. I didn't have the patience to get adjusted to another set of rules on a different server, or to get adjusted to any significant changes in comparison to TGstation, so I ended up playing some other games instead of TGstation.
Paprika has a cancerous personality. Glad to see he's gone.
So I randomly lost connection, can't reconnect to the server and the player list is private. I take it I was banned?
Edit:
Nope, server legitimately went down.
That's awful.

Goof was the one who added Goonchem afaik.
Paprka is a good coder, he knows what he's doing in that department and you can't really argue that. Sure he's added some terrible shit but he could sure as hell could write up good Space Code.
His problem is he has a "I am the coder this station needs, i'll fix all these problems myself because im great." That combined with he basically insulted anyone who disagreed with him and that he made fun of a dude who actually tried to kill himself makes him a pretty shitty person to deal with.

Which server? Tg station has an awful firewall that thinks you're ddosing them occasionally. It just bans your internet traffic for like 10 minutes. Switching IP's fixes it.
Also I found in tg station if you make synthflesh smoke, even the minimal amounts of the reaction can fully heal groups of people from deep crit almost instantly.
Thinking about making some omnizine smoke from warm donk-pockets. It'd give me around 24 uses just from the kitchen.
Can't wait till I single handedly get it nerfed.
[editline]ads[/editline]
Ok Omnizine smoke does jack shit, even though it puts omnizine into people's blood it doesn't react or do anything.
This really makes me want to try goon station again, since interactions seem intended or at least work a little better.
I recently found out how to overload the goon engine.
It's really scary when you hotwire it straight to the station rather than through SMES's, every APC goes berserk and started picking off the crew (not helped by my powergloves.)
I wish I had (could afford) internet.
I miss my spesstatin game :(

How do you overload the engine?
[QUOTE=Solomon;47231982]How do you overload the engine?[/QUOTE]
Use the right gases in the pipes and the right burn mix in the heater.
other than that it's up to you, though if someone on knows how to do it then ask them, most people will point you in the right direction.

I've been playing on goon since 2010 and probably have well over 1k hours of playtime, and I still don't know how to make bombs or setup that goddamn engine.

There's a guide on the wiki on how to set it up in a very basic setup, though as usual there's no mention about how to get it any higher than about 1.4MW.
The only reason I know how to do it was because some very kind person who's apparently been part of a team that got the damn thing up to 4500 Yottawatts showed me and someone else the basics of making a hellburn.
Whenever I play goon there is always a conveniently placed death machine nearby for someone to throw me into. So it's hard to get into Goon for me.
Today I got a latejoin traitor at /tg/. My objective was to steal the nuclear authentication disk and to escape alive, which suited me well enough: I'm quite unrobust. As a scientist, I did research just so long as required to print out the AI upload circuit. I snatched an ID off a dead atmospheric technician and headed above the chapel, where I built an AI upload computer, and ordered a hacked upload module from my uplink and uploaded the usual boring law with something like "do what I say and don't tell anyone about this".
I then proceeded to query the AI if the pinpointer and the disk are still in the captains office - the disk was sadly gone. So I instructed the AI to let me slip in via teleporter maintenance and turned the pinpointer on. Guess what: its arrow flashed at the secure safe. Yes, really. I couldn't believe the captain actually did that, but whatever. I took out a screwdriver and a multitool and proceeded to wipe the safes memory in order to open it. And fucked it up somehow, cause it didn't let me enter a new password and stayed locked (although it did ask for a new code to be entered, doing so and pressing E resulted in an ERROR). So I spent my remaining TCs on an emag, took the disc and sent myself down disposals.
I continued down to the crusher, which I emagged and fed it the pinpointer to make sure I won't be chased down later. It felt so good to complete my objective - I don't traitor often.
Not really sure how, but I somehow ended up in the post office again. The guys at cargo were a bit upset about me/somebody turning the conveyors on all the time, yet regardless, I did so again and rested down onto the belt.
Yes, really.
Needless to say, it took too long to stand back up once I got flushed out at the disposals crusher. Yes, the emagged one.
:downs:

Server number 1 is a great place to hop on for first learners who keep getting killed 2 seconds in since it's on extended, but no roleplay thank god.

Nobody stopped the alien clown
I think hippie needs a good ol purge. Shits getting just a bit out of hand.

Been theorizing some new diseases to test out eventually on Hippiestation.
Can't wait. :v:

Of course get taitor on first try but interrupted by competing spies.
Rude.

Server is ded.
Oh my, the most valid of lid hunters AI I have ever seen.
[editline]2nd March 2015[/editline]
This is why I hate the Paladin lawset, it just keeps being used for valid hunting.
I have successfully weaponized disposal pipes.

I hope you realize what you have done, assistants are going to try and GET themselves infected with this shit just because they want to be greedy little bastards, this will then make the HoS think he is all the MORE justified as being station comandant and take extreame measures as a first course of action.
And don't even get me started on what this will do to clowns.
It's amazing how much this game has changed over the year, kinda makes it harder to get back into.
