Hippie Station is basically "I Have a Mouth And I Must Scream" isn't it

May have seen one of the worst rules on any SS13 sever yesterday on Hippie. Some guy was one of the cat people and for what ever damned reason someone goes about and begins to murder him, Ahelp it because this seems like a clear cut case of being a massive shitler for the sake of killing someone. Forgot the admin names but this is how the conversation went. Me:"Yo, this Security guy just killed another sec officer." Admins:" Was he a cat person?" Me: "Yeah, but killing for being a cat person is a massive dick move." Admins: "Nope, Catpeople are valid salad, I explictly warn people not to be cat people." Me: "How does that make sense, that's just being a dick to a player to be a dick." Next thing is silence throughout the rest of the round, I get that they're griefable but seriously actually have a good reason to be a dick to them rather than. "LEL TOPKEKEST CAT KILLR 2024." I don't even play as Xenospecies on other servers but that's a goddamn retarded rule.

Maybe its because Tajarans are universally hated and its a players choice to be one. Think of it as hard mode. If they dont want to deal with it they dont have to be a cat, its as simple as that.

It's like that guy who charges 10 bux to be kicked in the nuts, sure kicking a guy in the nuts is wrong but he's not only asking but getting MONEY from it. It's like painting a massive "kick me" sign on yourself. Personally I want to draft some into a super soldier program.

what server would you guys say is the best? i've played on almost all major servers and i think they all have their pros and cons. except for bs12, bs12 has nothing going for it.

One of the weird things I've noticed and has for some reason become one of the main struggles I have to deal with, as silly as it may sound, when I venture to play something other than goonstation, is the lighting/brightness. Servers running /tg/ and bay code all look like it's on very low brightness and have low lighting. It's kind of weird and bothers my eyes a bit. It's exactly equivalent to how things look when you have sunglasses on in goon. You have to really see it in person and you probably wouldn't even notice if you're used to just playing hippie or whatever but check it out when you can. The low brightness makes it feel dull to me.

I want to see what happens if the Captain signs into law that all non-humans (Lizards, Birbs, Cats) are only allowed in certain areas or exiled to the mining station.

The crew is so used to the captain being pants on head retarded that you don't have any real responsibilities except holding the disk, and even then you could give it to the HoS (or HoP if you can find the fucker). You get all access to explore around with and people usually help you out and protect you just cause you wear the green. Might get robusted for your ID in maint though.

The "friendly antag" situation is a whole different thing, completely seperate from this. Personally, I'm all for catpeople/lizards being valid.

And really it depends on the players sometimes, fluff-wise NanoTrasen says that no one should ever spare a Wizard if they see one, never deal with one either. Besides when there's this guy with power to teleport around and stun you for long periods of time like no sweat, or shape-shift or scream loud enough to burst your ears, people tend to feel uneasy that someone has a revolver for a hand.
