Space Station 13 v11 - Admiral Hippie does bad videos

I went on hippie for the first time after playing /tg/ for god knows how long. The moment i farted my butt off and made a buttbott with it i knew i was home.
What is it particularly that people are finding unlikable about TG code? I predominantly play there, and while I have noticed a few changes that are a bit meh- what is it that turns you against it?
Coders don't play the game enough to balance things and I have the feeling they don't consult the playerbase for balance changes.
Also the removal of Telescience and addition of Goonchem have left a sour taste in a lot of mouths.

Funfact, we had goonchem on Hippiestation for a bit, turns out the playerbase hated it, so we reverted it.

You are truly our benevolent spess overlord.
does anybody know a way to use WASD on hippie or TG? keyboard is dying and i don't have the money to replace it yet been having to play on goon just to get my space station fix
So recent changes on tg made me realize how fucked the coderbus is over there perhaps its time to try hippy station or something. RIP /TG/station 2011-2015
The coders of /tg/ mainly Mr.Person and Paprika who both rarely ever play on the sever at all started making 'updates'. Hornygranny did one in the past which removed saxxing around the station, but it's easy to get past that after a few days, and it made hyperzine useful. But for the past few months Pap and Person have collectively made some of the worst possible updates to /tg/ ever.
Space Update Removed old ways of traveling in space IIRC all the z-levels were locked to certain positions so find them was hard unless you knew where to go., items now drifted and singularity became fucking amazingly destructive. Overall it was a decentish update, but once anyone left the station they discovered just how BAD it was. Being in space or zero-g station was made the biggest possible ever by slowing the move speed down to someone who was starving and made doing anything in space a pure hassle, jetpacks only offered you the ability to move and the main reason was "NUKE OPS COULDN"T KEEP UP IN SPACE" that was met with soo much response to undo it but nobody ever did, Mr.Person didn't want to live up to his mistakes and said everyone is whining.
Security Sprites See TG has a few new sprites for Security giving them a tactical and sorta private military look to them but still showed them as being sec. They looked amazing and nobody cared, except Pap. Pap thought he'd make a player poll to see what people like the most, and overwhelmingly people voted for Ausop's sprites over his, but that didn't matter he changed security sprites regardless.
Telescience removal It's too OP for anyone to use, literally the actual reason other than hardly anyone wants to use it.
Recently combat update Pretty bad update basically making getting the ebow useless as it is no longer an ebow actually requiring you to buy ammo for it now,Syndicate borg getting his laser and ebow removed and given a SAW and Grenade launcher (so much for balance). Making disablers the norm for e-guns, not just tasers which is fucking retarded.
Firing Pins Giving guns firing pins to stop people from using them as a way to prevent people from looting syndies. Rather than adding on DNA lock to them it's giving all guns a firing pin that can be taken out and made useless. Top feature is giving loyalty firing pins which makes traitors taking guns away from security or the captain, or even R&D completely useless
Goon chem I do not fucking know why TG needs goonstation features.

Pap also wanted to begin removing sleepers from medbay recently.

Fucking hell does that guy have any concept of how this game works.
He seems to just add stuff because 'That's cool', or refactors stuff because 'That's OP'. Surely the first thing you do before even taking it to peoples opinion is to think up (or even better write down) all the different things that will be affected.
So for instance in the case of sleepers, here's a few things that change from them being removed:
-Medbay can no longer throw people in and pump them with chems that fix them, meaning that the cryo tubes have to be used more, or they have to scramble around for bruise packs/ointment/anti-toxin.
-Cryo tubes being used more means either people who are cloned have to deal with being retarded for longer, or others may end up staying badly hurt for longer, or even dying right outside the cryo tubes because if medbay gets full it's a first come first served basis, even for people who can walk.
-Upgraded sleepers have extra chems which take the pressure off chemistry, and in cases where nasty diseases spread will usually have the alkysine required to cure people, which means chemistry doesn't start running out of charge trying to heal the deluge of assistants in the lobby.
-Sleepers have sleep-toxin in them. Not used much but I've seen it used to make sure people who have been arrested but needed medical assistance don't try to escape.
-Current /tg/ meta while I was there heavily favoured sleepers above most other things, this wil break a lot of MD's workflows.
etc. You can't make changes in complex games without thinking about this stuff.

Press tab, if the chatbar has gone white, you are now in hotkey mode.
The key point of hotkey mode is WASD moves... however here's the full list of instant robustness.
W, A, S, D = Move your character
Q = Drop
E = Equip
R = Throw
T = Say (opens a new input window)
F = Cycle intents left
G = Cycle intents right
Z = Activate held object
X = Swap hands
1 = Help intent
2 = Disarm intent
3 = Grab intent
4 = Harm intent

One of the reasons they gave was it meant now R&D could make a gun and decon it for extra research without having to open the box. Which seems good natured... everything else about it is pretty pants IMO.
Heck if they wanted a middle ground, why not make all guns mechanism locked until unlocked via an appropriate ID (or EMag) Sci can decon guns for R&D, clunky lockboxes are gone, system functions Basically the same as it used to. Bonus, you can now ship guns to the Armoury without some asshat assistant disamring you and spacing it jsut because "lol wuz funny"
on that subject I had an assistant run off with a locker full of Mining materials because he thought it was funny...
I killed him...

The coders are incredibly disconnected with the playerbase and enforce changes many do not want.
Funfact, we had goonchem on Hippiestation for a bit, turns out the playerbase hated it, so we reverted it.
By the way how did that BT-209 idea that I suggested go along?
I haven't played SS13 in a few weeks, and I haven't played Hippie in even longer so I haven't checked to see if anything new has been added.

You can set paper on fire with a lighter. Also when security get your ass aug'd if possible, recently I survived a syndicate bomb exploding on hippie while being exposed to space without internals, only suffered minor damage. All we need now is those aug mods I've suggested and then Robo-Cop can be robust as fuck.
http://spacestation13.com/ I dunno if this was posted yet, but the spacestation 13 standalone project died. It went open source though!
I'd definitely host a dedicated server if anyone could get it going. The bare bones system is there. Just tons to be added.

See my posts, it's buggy as hell and there really is nothing.
As an example for the buggyness, the server crashes if you hit yourself.
What's hippy like versus /tg/station?
What's hippy like versus /tg/station?
Well, I'm the host and owner of Hippie Station if you haven't noticed, but I tend to let other people give their own opinions about my server.
remember that time that goon had id locks on all the guns
yeah
lets go back to that
-tg
What's hippy like versus /tg/station?
Hippy is like tg of yore, fighting the good fight, while tg is now a senile old man on life support with some crazy freaks jumping around him twiddling dials on his machinery.
What's hippy like versus /tg/station?
/tg/ Was relatively vanilla with a few features added in but has devolved into a massive cluster fuck of terrible coders who think they know what's best for the sever w/o ever actually playing. Hippie atleast has someone taking input on facepunch and not adding in retarded changes.
Just had a paper's please round on Badger as a subverted borg, killed some assistant in the bridge, then got taken down by security. Crew rebels, smashes the checkpoint, so a Wizard deathsquad gets summoned.
Edit: About ten minutes after I whacked the assistant, the Captain joined and made this wonderful announcement.

Yesterday (or was it two days ago?) I was the Chaplain on hippie, I decided to make my religion bad rats, and went around saying "Hail The Bad Rat!" And eventually killed runtime then farted on like 50 copies of the bible in a coffin.
Hail Bad Rat.
wait does anything bad happen if you fart on a bible on hippie

Can we have sax, vuvuzela and duckbot from Goon please?

also it stops being funny roughly halfway through
i literally just about choked to death on my coke as soon as it started playing the conference room music
How to be a good chef.
Step one get into tech storage and take two High power micro lasers.
Step two get a toolbox, decon your microwaves and rebuild them repaces the micro lasers with high power ones.
Step three, take the meat from the fridge, put one in each microwave with one salt and one pepper... the upgraded microwaves means you will get two stakes per slab of meat.
Now put 15 flour in each microwave and set them off for four loaves of bread.
Put 5 units of Universal enzyme in the glass beaker and keep putting space milk in the beaker, it will porduce a shittone of cheese.
Use a knife to carve the bread into slices and the cheese into wedges.
Into each microwave put the following
-One steak
-two slices of bread
-one cheese
Out of each microwave you will get two sandwiches... making a total of four
Put one sandwich in each microwave and you will get back two toasted sandwiches PER microwave, a total of 8 sandwiches from a single steak slice.
if somehow you get R&D to give you Ulta high power micro lasers you will get THREE units of food every time you use the microwave.
1 slice of meat becomes three steaks.
Each of those three steaks becomes a total of 9 sandwiches and then 27 toasted sandwiches.
And then a greyshirt eats every single one
Or the chemist comes in and polyacids it all like the complete jerkbutt he is.
And then a greyshirt eats every single one
New TG code means once you're full you cannot eat anymore...
And I had nearly 80 sandwiches on that table... I dare you I FUKKEN DARE YOU!
I feel like out of most of the servers out there right now hippie offers the classic SS13 experience.
Now imagine if someone made a cross-server movement system, where if you go far enough into space in a certain direction you will be joined to another server, spat out on the edge of space with your old gear and then you could do whatever on the new server.
