TBH, I'm not worried about DayZ fanboys coming over to ss13. First they have to find out how to install byond, then make a ckey, then find ss13 servers to play on. This also means that hidden servers like tg and bay might be exempt from the fanboys because it'd be harder to find the servers. Paradise is screwed though.

So based on the threads it seems that while it is SS13 inspired it will be mechanically different in that it will have a persistent world with RPG-like mechanics. Honestly I say good, trying to remake SS13 is the devils own work and I'd rather he make a good new game that has some ss13 feel rather than trying to remake the tangled scrambled demon scrotum of a mess that is SS13.

whats wrong with other species its not the thing itself its the people who play them you can easily ignore furries in a yiff session and seperate them from people who just want to play something that isn't human

For me personally, a sci-fi mmo(rpg?) without alien species really missed an opportunity. Kinda like a medieval fantasy game without any species. Although I guess the point is moot when there are two arguably great rpgs that fit both of those bills (EVE and Runescape to be specific)

I'm ok with nonhuman races as long as they can only be second class assistants

The only time I enjoy being around non-human races is when I'm lynching them.

I think adding furry races just adds more reason for race wars on the station. I'm ok with that since that has resulted in hilarity before.

Gassing the catbeasts and starting a race war now is always fun.

Furry races are fine when it's tongue in cheek. Heck after a while on hippe some of the lizards eventually found out some humans are nicer to lizards and rush to their aid when their comrade is under attack. Then the Birds were added and thus began the Ligger vs Birb interspeices holocaust of 2087.

And I mean, why the hell wouldn't you grief a server with a deviant art quality lobby picture and clueless admins that doesn't even check your CID. I've actually sometimes met pretty chill admins on certain servers, where I eventually stopped fucking around on them. Of course, paradise has some really shitty admins unfortunately, when I broke into chem once to make smoke+space drugs grenades, an admin fucked around with the chemmaster I was using and blew it up.
