I guess I just don't count Control Warrior w/ C'Thun stuff as true C'Thun
It goes back to what people were saying earlier about only needing a little synergy for C'Thun stuff to work, there aren't as many decks built around him entirely as there were at the start
I don't think we're ever going to stop seeing N'Zoth and Sylvanas (Especially Sylvanas) so I just don't ever think full-on "C'Thun decks" are ever going to be a major threat again
Unless they nerf Sylvie. Which seems... Unlikely
By that logic there really isn't many "true" N'Zoth decks either. N'Zoth Priest only runs 3 deathrattles. Most of the time you really don't need a gigantic N'Zoth turn to win the game.
All the Old Gods, except for Y'Shaarj, are wonderful design-wise because they don't really need much setup for them to work for you (and well, a huge Yogg can sometimes [most of the time] be detrimental to you).
the faster your deck the faster you win or lose, the faster you climb
Unless you're an exceptionally good player with a good deck. Chessdude went 16-0 with Malygos Rogue, which is fairly slow, to rank 1 Legend. Luck alone can't get you that far.
Has someone done the (presumably shitload of) math regarding Yogg? Are the majority of his outcomes good or bad?

fairly good
the correct amount of spells is around 10-14
anymore is more likely to fatigue you
He's basically 10 mana, clear the board, draw a few cards, and possibly heal/do some damage to either character
sometimes hes insane and gives you a board, or sometimes he's awful and buffs the enemy board

Blizzard, do you want me to play Druid? You could have just told me...
A new Tavern Brawl has been released in NA!
SHADOW TOWERS
"Who lurks in the shadowy towers? You do! Skulking behind the Towers' sturdy walls, your minions have stealth their first turn."
Special Rules:
1. You have to build a deck for this Brawl.
2. Right after you summon a minion, it recieves a Stealth Aura effect. This means that stuff such as Flare will NOT remove Stealth from minions affected by the buff. This Aura lasts until the start of your next turn (note that currently, no other Stealth effect behaves this extrmely specific way, being unremovable and ending just like Conceal).
3. Both heroes start with 10 Armor in addition to the usual 30 Health.
And, because I'm late, have some Brawl backstory:
Back when the Brawl was discovered, a Shadow Tower minion was actually found whitin the gamefiles, belonging to this Brawl. The minion couldn't attack, and would make minions adjacent to it Stealthed and unable to attack. Those Shadow Towers would spawn just like the Christmas Brawl gifts - one on each side of the board, and if destroyed, the Shadow Tower would appear again for the player. There are unused strings that would explain the mechanics of the Brawl, but interestingly enough the current buff was also included (and implemented). Blizzard possibly thought the Brawl was too complicated, or maybe just a mess in it's original state.
Yep great combo

Alarmobot, *deck full of 28 huge minions*

he was already in legend at that point, i assume? climbing to legend is different than playing in legend

He started somewhere in the few ranks before legend, I'm fairly sure. He kept saying he would go to bed but he kept winning.
[editline]25th May 2016[/editline]
Nevermind, I was wrong, he started at rank 64 legend but for some reason started out playing against a rank 4 pre-legend, which is really weird.
Also legend meta is much harder than non legend meta. You're playing against much, much better players.

I think you are arguing a different point than the guy you're responding to. The point he is arguing has nothing to do with legend rank, just the effectiveness of laddering pre-legend with an aggro deck due to the sheer volume of games you can play within a timeframe. Winrate doesn't matter nearly as much on ladder as it does in legend. If you were laddering with some random aggro deck pre-legend you would obvious try to play the meta much more once you hit legend.
holy shit, justicar/c'thun warrior is so fucking stupid right now.
I opened a Onyxia after the tavern brawl today. Is he any good? Or should I just disenchant him?
I opened a Onyxia after the tavern brawl today. Is he any good? Or should I just disenchant him?
*she
and she's not amazing, no, but I'd stick her in a few decks and see how you like her first. 400 dust doesn't go very far.
I opened an Illidan Stormage last night after i was doing some ranked grinding; is he played in anything?
I opened a Onyxia after the tavern brawl today. Is he any good? Or should I just disenchant him?
She is the ultimate meme dream in Evolve Shaman.
I would keep her for just the cheese factor in that.
[editline]26th May 2016[/editline]
If you don't get a Doomsayer, it is almost impossible for an opponent to deal with that board.

make sure to keep the coin and double evolve while you're at it with the cheesing.

He' so underplayed I forgot he even existed. I haven't even seen him out of a Golden Monkey in forever either.

pretty strong IMO, severely underrated. It IS 14/14 worth of stats.

im kind of tempted to craft it then
I want to try the new tavern brawl but past experiences tell me I'm going to get easily destroyed due not having the cards that everyone uses.
I tried a spell damage+nontarget spell deck but it didn't work fantastically.

dont feel that way dude! i got kind of a shitty collection but i just knocked together a spellpower ramp druid deck and it was pretty easy to win.
if you spam tavern brawl enough you will eventually meet an instant conceder to get your pack
if you spam tavern brawl enough you will eventually meet an instant conceder to get your pack
Someone waiting for a turn 1 alarmbot
I want to try the new tavern brawl but past experiences tell me I'm going to get easily destroyed due not having the cards that everyone uses.
Like everybody else is saying, sometimes you got to grind through these Brawls a little but that free pack is so nice for newer players that it's worth it
What I used to do if I didn't think I had the cards was just make a shitty Warlock Zoo deck
Eventually either you'll zoo them out or you'll get an insta concede like people have said

She's recognized as extremely good in arena. Constructed just doesn't have the same parameters for defining a good card. Still she could definitely be swapped in for another big dragon in a dragon deck and you wouldn't be sad about it. Definitely playable, just not played.
I opened an Illidan Stormage last night after i was doing some ranked grinding; is he played in anything?
I had moderate success with him in a Token Druid deck as a fifth token generator (behind Violet Teacher and Summoning Stone). Aside from that he's below average.
Well after thinking for a while in making a deck for the brawl my first opponent was a Mage that instant conceded. That victory felt empty so I tried again and I had a nice fight against a totem Shaman which I won. Everything when better than expected.
Renounce Darkness is pretty fun for the brawl.
Just lost 12 games in a row against Shamans. Literally all aggro shamans. And they all killed me with no cards in hand with either a Lava Burst or Rock Biter with a Doomhammer in play off the top when they were dead the next turn. Every time, not even an exaggeration. No matter what deck I played.
Just look at this shit. How lucky does everyone against me have to be.

Feels miserable. I've been trying to play Hearthstone to cope with and forget the fact that my pet died a few days ago and this shit just makes me want to off myself even more.
[editline]26th May 2016[/editline]
I fucking hate this. Aggro Shamans are worse than Freeze Mages.
