They probably have good statistics on these choices?

Wouldn't a standard cycle just remove [I]more[/I] cards?
Plus standard cycle is a pretty awful idea to start with, or at least the implementation is. Instead of actually bothering to balance cards (which a digital card game is in a unique position to do), they just dump everything into a special needs ladder.
Playing Burgle Rogue against another Rogue is so un-fun.

I saw the thread posted on Leddit initially so I don't know if there are other community sources that provided their input. I agree with the caustic rng cards being bumped off. Some of the others I'm weary of but I'm interested in seeing Win Axe being banned.

Maybe it's just for variety's sake? I don't think of Drake as broken or anything but if you start banning out the broken cards a solid card like that is going to be in like every deck

I think this is an interesting idea and would like to see a tournament with banned cards but some of the choices feel like they're balancing around player emotions/feelings which I'm weary of

I'm hoping call of the wild isn't banned. Only reason hunter is viable, it's overpowered but it sort of has to be. Same reason shaman got so much stupid shit. It's just shaman required multiple expansions to get good shit, hunter only really needed 1 card.

Since the monthly rewards were so kind to remind that Poisoned Blade exists, I want to compare it to Spirit claws:
Mana cost: 4 vs. 1
Stats: 1/3 vs. 1/3
Cost of bonus effect: 2 vs. 0 (you gain blade stats [I]instead of a dagger[/I], you gain claw stats without losing anything)
The bonus effect: +1 damage vs. +2 damage.
Mana cost of dealing 9 damage: 8 vs. 3 (a spellpower totem or Thalnos, but buffing the weapon is just a bonus so you could also say it costs 1 mana)
I'm no Blizzard balance professional, but I get the feeling these numbers don't quite add up.

Keep in mind that they were made at completely different times in Hearthstone's history and power creep exists. Also keep in mind that they're for two different classes.

Poisoned Blade was made during a time when Blade Flurry was around too mind you. Imagine that degeneracy if the costs and effectiveness were the same then.

What if Poisoned Blade was 2/1 for 2 mana and got 2 attack per hero ability use? I was thinking it should be a high damage low use weapon, since poison doesn't really last an infinitely long time but can be very potent. Could work much better with taking down high HP targets or Blade Flurry, since you're not forced to attack minions multiple times taking more and more damage.
poisoned blade should be a 1/1 with "destroy any minion damaged by this weapon"
Making all of rogue's weapon damage buffing abilities useless.
I do however think a poisoned weapon might be cool, just not with rogue.
Has Blizz ever buffed a card they gutted? Is Blade Flurry really dead forever?

Pretty much dead, I wish it was either 4 mana, or didn't deal damage to face, they essentially nuked it with both debuffs.

I played 3 hunters in a row and they all had 2 call of the wilds in hand on turn 8 without drawing a single extra card.
Holy shit, I want off this endless Shaman/Hunter ride.
Finally got Liadrin, and it made me realize how much I kinda dislike some of the default Hero art
Like, Jaina, Valeera, Anduin, and Garrosh all look fine to me but the other 5 are just so boring
Think they'll ever do alternate versions of the default Heroes as a bonus or reward? Obviously new Heroes would be preferable but I like some of the actual characters and want to use art of them that isn't boring
Also fuck leveling to 20 in WoW is boring
