Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft V4 - We're gonna be RICH!
The card art looks super weird.
It's like they just screencapped Cho'gall's ingame model from WoW and photoshopped some effects into his hands and around him.
Hearthstone's art has never been all that consistent honestly - some use 3d models while others are drawn 2d
[editline]8th April 2016[/editline]
Card looks sweet though!
I love how in line cho'gall is with warlocks whole "harm self for POWER" theme. Wonder if there is a cost cap for the battle cry, or if you could use it to cast a 10 cost on round 7 WITH a 7/7. Dunno if warlocks have any 10 cost spells though

DOOM! and Rafaam's artifacts.
There are no caps on damage, so I doubt there's a cap on this. I'm certain that if your opponent plays 4 loathebs in one turn you will be able play cho + doom to die in one hit.
I can't even begin to imagine how that exact series of events would happen but I understand your theory haha
Imagine that you're playing mage, your opponent just activated your duplicate on your Loatheb and you decide to play your emperor Thaurrisan, and you also happened to have a Brann Bronzebeard left in you hand. And then the following turn you play your Brann and 2 Loathebs for 10 mana.
Then your warlock opponent gets confused and panicked by all the spores and 5/5s. So he really wants to clear the board, but his doom costs 30 mana. Luckily, he has his good friend Cho'Gall with him to help him get his doom.
And this is why Wild Format is a thing!
I feel some people are overhyping Cho'Gall.
I mean yeah, it's a nice tempo drop. It fits well with Warlock.. or it doesn't. Cho'Gall will be run only because Dr. Boom will dissapear from Standard, and Warlock won't get a better option in the 7-cost range than Cho and Gall.
Your main problem is that you have two spells that you can only really cast with Cho'Gall - Siphon Soul and Shadowflame (add Implosion if you are in Wild). All other spells are simply horrible. Too horrible to actually use with Cho'Gall (all demon synergy spells are not worth even a card slot). Sure, you have Siphon Soul which is the only amazing spell with this and Shadowflame can give you 7 mana boardclear, or on 8 mana you can Power Overwhelming + Cho'Gall + Shadowflame the PO'd thing. But that's just it.
Without those spells, Cho'Gall is just going to be too shitty. Board clears will damage Cho'Gall and deal even more damage to your hero when you don't need that. You won't run the horrendous spells which warlocks have with this. This card will be in any Control Warlock, and those won't run Sense Demons or Demonheart.
I like the legendary, but it's not as powerful as some people think. I think it's actually pretty mediocre as a whole, but from what we have seen, there is no other option in the meta where Boom doesn't exist. If we see some more powerful spells revealed that help you turn the tide, than Cho'Gall will become better in my eyes.
cho'gall -> twisting nether
unimaginable value
I really think one of the redeeming factors of Cho'Gall is the fact that he is a 7-drop.
There's basically nothing to play for that Mana cost (in Standard) now that Boom's rotating out, especially not in Warlock.
+It's freaking Cho'gall

Oh hey, one of the cards from the intro!
Current thoughts:

Pretty much a Warlock specific Argent Squire.
I'm not even sure if it will see play in Zoo in Wild. Might replace Haunted Creeper in Standard though.
I can't immediately think of why you'd pick that over an Argent Squire, unless you wanted more Argent Squires.
With an Argent Squire, you can:
- Buff it with something, which it'll definitely not take 1 damage when hurting something thanks to Divine Shield, and of course will keep the buff.
- Take its Divine Shield with a Blood Knight, which no one plays but does give a huge buff from just one Argent Squire.
With the Possessed Villager, you can:
- Buff Undertaker with it, which no one plays anymore (and is getting swapped out of Standard).
- Trigger it twice with Baron Rivendare, which no one also plays anymore (and again, getting swapped out of Standard).
I assume the token has no effect of its own? It's so weird that this expansions pushing so hard for control and midrange and Warlock still gets a zoo card
Also I love that they just decided to reveal 3 Warlock cards in a row for some reason
Pretty neat card to get out of Dark Peddler.
Neat/10

You can Power Overwhelming this and get a 1/1 minion.

You do have a better chance of getting this out of Dark Peddler than Argent for whatever that's worth, which could be relevant in zoo
I feel like I should repost this video from a while back cause the latest old god card fits this concept ridiculously well.

It's interesting how it seems this card has the craziest biggest delta of randomness while still being exciting for both players cause it can REALLY go either way
Does Beast of Shadows have any tag? Like maybe a Demon?
Otherwise I way prefer Argent Squire, unless I need a Coil target for emergency draw or something.
......Waitaminute, this card only serves as a Dark Peddler nerf isn't it.
Edit: Oh, Power Overwhelming!! Okay this card isn't so bad after all.
voidwalker has purpose in zoo for just being annoying and protecting more threatening minions for a turn
Power overwhelming seems like the only thing that would make this card better than argent squire. IMO, the initial card should have 2 health. That would make it better while not really increasing its usefulness much, especially with haunted creeper out.
Thijs is a card

Still bad.
Needs atleast 4 minions on the board to extract value out of it.
Everyfin is Awesome for Druid.
...wat :speechless:
Seems an ok card, basically acts as a nine health heal (ignoring spells that is)
You might want to tag that
I already did.
Btw. trash tier as well.
Wisps of the Old Gods - darn that pun.
Well this card looks okay in my books. If you have a filled board it can act as a bloodlust, it can fill your board if you have it empty. Honestly my biggest concern is it's Mana Cost, which may doom it to be Dark Wispers territory of usefulness.
Soggoth the Slitherer
Taunt that cannot be removed by spells. What a shame it's a 9 Mana 5/9 LEGENDARY card. We know of that GvG taunt which does the same, but earlier on, and it wasn't played. I doubt this will be too, even in control decks (because you can't run it elsewhere). It's countered by Silence, Black Knight ruins it, and it's a 5/9 for 9 Mana which's only benefit is that it's undestructible by normal removal cards. If anything, atleast it's not a Boogeymonster, but seriously this should have been 8 Mana or have 5/10 or 4/12 stats (yes that makes a big difference) than we would talk.
Arcane Nullifier X-21: Electric Boogaloo, Tentacle Edition.
Why would you even print it? Would you ever play that over other 9-drops like Ysera, Nefarian, Rafaam, Mal'ganis, Cenarius, Alexstrasza or Anub'arak?
Black Knight is still a thing in both modes, also.
kinda shitty value BUT it's nice to get a taunt minion with a lot of health that can't just be boardwiped or removed honestly
Yeah, I forgot to say Y'Shaarj decks may run it for the chance of getting value from it.
As I said, if it would have nicer stats or would cost 8 Mana in it's current form than it would be something to consider as an option to tank huge minions. The only deck I can see putting this in is Y'Shaarj value deck or Fatigue Warrior (unremovable taunt that clears small minions? sounds like value, protects you so you can safely monkey).
