there's a lot of people complaining about C'Thun decks, but I think Darwin Shaman is just fucking crazy. The 4 mana 7/7 is just the icing on the cake really
I'm playing priest and the 4 mana 7/7 can at least be death'd, 2 4/6 taunts is fucking difficult to deal with though.
Why are there people just playing straight up face decks with no new cards jesus fucking christ I hate aggro decks
Why are there people just playing straight up face decks with no new cards jesus fucking christ I hate aggro decks
Healbot needs a reprint badly =/
I also hate how I have to replace 3/2s in my opening hand because rogue will invariably coin si:7 them which should be illegal. [editline]3[/editline] I'm a little frustrated right now.
Why are there people just playing straight up face decks with no new cards jesus fucking christ I hate aggro decks
They're trying to get as many ranks as possible. If this is in non-Ranked play I have no idea.
I've played around 20 games since the new cards got added and I have yet to see someone play C'thun himself. Sure, they play the buff cards but by turn 10 they eitjer didnt draw him or they already lost.
I've drawn C'thun in every single game I've played with C'thun priest except for one. I've found that slowing the game down by running tons of removal to 2 for 1 your opponent works very well while still dropping cultists with ok stats.
is shaman the new paladin the new class that curves out insanely well, beats your drops for value with drop after drop except the difference is that they can run burn as well, so even if you clear the board they can still blow you the fuck out
Why are there people just playing straight up face decks with no new cards jesus fucking christ I hate aggro decks
aggro decks punish all the slow greedy c'thun decks
So I put together a cheapo ARRRRogue deck [t]http://i.imgur.com/eZYtWKP.jpg[/t] [sp]Buccaneer is a sweet card btw, gives +1 attack to a weapon when you equip it. My best games start with a turn one Buccaneer and a turn two 2/2 dagger[/sp]
Why are there people just playing straight up face decks with no new cards jesus fucking christ I hate aggro decks
Blame Blizzard for that, the only way to make a good deck cheaply is to make a face or zoo type deck. Whenever you're trying to build a slower control or combo deck, a bunch of essential spells will be epics and you'll also need a few expensive legendaries. It looks like Blizzard's philosophy is to make all the boring shit common and cards that have more complicated and interesting effects get bumped up to epic or legendary. Pretty much all the efficiently statted, aggressive minions and burn spells are rare at most, and this is the reason why people will often make aggressive decks. Boring minions can be useful when they're cheap because you can still make efficient trades and out-tempo your opponent in the early game. On the other hand, nobody wants to play a 6+ mana vanilla minion, because if you do that, you'll just get destroyed by decks that can do a lot more work with the same amount of mana. Just look at the late-game commons that have been released in the recent expansions. There's only a few decent ones, like North Sea Kraken and Bog Creeper, and even those are only considered to be great in arena. You can also take a look at the basic set. The class cards are actually OK, there's quite a lot of useful stuff among them, but the neutrals are way worse. Outside of a few exceptions, most of them are just trash-tier cards that nobody wants to use in constructed. So if you're a beginner, the only way to get good quickly is to make an aggro deck full of cheap cards.
Well this is at rank 3 so I'd be surprised if all of them are new.
Just unpacked this: :smug:
Allright, Yog. I believe in you. The other guy's got a 17/17 C'thun on board. I'm at 4 health, you've saved me from worse situations. Last game you Assassinated C'thun, you can do it again. I believe in you, I believe in the heart of the cards. I've sacrificed 14 spells in your name. Yogg-Saron, God of Death and Madness, Fiend of a Thousand Faces. Godspeed, Yogg. Godspeed. FUCK
Why are there people just playing straight up face decks with no new cards jesus fucking christ I hate aggro decks
I mainly find aggro frustrating when you know you can beat it but your card draws are terrible - like they're constantly throwing down cheap minions and you're drawing late game with no board clears

I had Brann on the field and Yogg in my hand at the start of fatigue. Yogg casted like 50 spells, two of which being Pyroblasts to my own face, but he managed to cast enough Frost Bolts, Lava Shocks, and Fireballs for me to win.
I mainly find aggro frustrating when you know you can beat it but your card draws are terrible - like they're constantly throwing down cheap minions and you're drawing late game with no board clears
That's aggro. They can draw anything and still do what they do pretty much, but you can't.

Game is over at that point
Boy playing against Armored C'Thun Warrior sure is fun [sp]I probably did about 40 damage to him before he finally drew his C'Thun, he still had 19 health...[/sp]

Twin Emperor + 2 Youthful Brewmasters is cheesey as fuck on top of Ancient Shieldbearer and Justicar. [editline]29th April 2016[/editline] He didn't even play C'thun against me and kept it in his hand during fatigue.

Yogg-Saron is Trolden incarnate.
after playing with and against C'Thun decks, I have to admit I neither enjoy playing them or playing against them not quite sure how you're meant to beat them yet apart from playing super aggro which I don't like
I enjoy both playing with and against C'Thun decks actually. The decks aren't non-interactive combo decks. They're midrange decks that rely heavily on board presence and control in order to not only fuel their combo, but to make sure C'Thun actually hits your face and kills you rather than almost killing a Sea Giant and some other minions, for example. Their entire game plan plays onto the board. The strong part about C'Thun is that he has a chance to repair the boardstate even if it gets really bad for you, but usually you have to do the rest of the winning yourself after that (which might not be hard with your new 20/20). It's a midrange deck that wants long games and has a combo-finisher. It's hardly an oppressive deck, especially considering that half the cards you're forced to play are super mediocre. [editline]29th April 2016[/editline] As a Magic player people complaining about C'Thun decks is hilarious. None of these cards really speak oppressive to me. I honestly think it's because of the standard format because of the lack of depth of cards. In some years, as expansions come out, we'll all be looking back at C'Thun as he is no longer played. The only cards in the deck that allow him to see play now are things like Twin Emperors and Shieldbearer. Without these few powerful defensive cards, the entire deck falls apart in a pile of mediocrity.
Played Tavern Brawl, had Renounce Darkness in my hand right away. Fun fact, it shows what cards got swapped even in Tavern Brawl. Turns out I barely had any Warlock cards. Later on, I was getting shat on by this guy, so much control. Few cards left, I was close to getting lethal but I had to survive a couple more turns. I had 3 health so I could afford a tap but otherwise I had nothing to help me survive. I pull Reno Jackson. I summon him and prepare for victory, turns out I had some copy of a card in my deck so I didn't get my heal. So I end my turn, knowing I'm gonna lose. The guy uses Coldlight Oracle for BM. I had a second Reno Jackson. I lost.

Apparently BMKibler is colorblind and those glows do nothing for him, saw him play a Reno to no effect and he was sad.
Apparently BMKibler is colorblind and those glows do nothing for him, saw him play a Reno to no effect and he was sad.
You mean Brian "Please don't call me Brian "Brian Kibler" Kibler" Kibler of Brian Kibler Gaming fame?
I never said it was an oppressive deck, I said I didn't enjoy playing with or against it slamming down vanilla minions each turn is just super boring to me
You never seem to enjoy playing against anything.
I've been betrayed by my own Mindgames. Played it before I was going going to play Reno, and I pulled Auchenai from my opponent's deck.
Doesn't Reno have a yellow highlight to indicate if he's going to heal you?
I was excited, the chances of me having duplicates in a Tavern Brawl is pretty low so I didn't even notice.
