Why are the textures so ridiculously low quality?
Why are the textures so ridiculously low quality?
Image quality, they are fine ingame.
Basically we need more coders guys, so spread the word!
I can code. Finals are ending and i will have plenty of time. The only qualification i have is that i code C++, i never worked on any sourcemods, nor have i worked on any group. I learn fast though, if you're interested contact me on steam: MatheusMCardoso [editline]23rd November 2012[/editline] I will make a proper entry for the role once i get to my house.
We've now got several coders on the team, thanks for spreading the news guys!
I was too late, got into a lot of stuff the past two days. I'm sorry i didn't have the time. Glad you've got things running! Big WW fan here.

Isn't this the mod where the devs hardcoded their Steam IDs so they can ultimately abuse on any server? Which they did.
Isn't this the mod where the devs hardcoded their Steam IDs so they can ultimately abuse on any server? Which they did.
What are you talking about? The only times we've experimented with Steam ID's was a year back when we tested out if we could apply some global bans. (This was done on an un-released version of the mod) There is nothing in the code of the current version that is able to make us abuse on servers, (which we wouldnt do anyways). I also have to ask where you heard this.
Did somebody say "bans"? The only person to ever threaten any sort of global dev created ban was Potteh. He threatened the realism community with it when we wouldnt be sheep and let him throw out the way we like to play. That eventually eased off though after a week. But Potteh is no friend of WW1 Source anymore and has been long since kicked from the developing team and just about all the servers in WW1 Source have independently banned them from their servers if they where around during the time he was around and knew all that he did to us and the mod. ---- Edit: Nevermind. No use trying to defend such a dumb allegation of "Devs hardcode banning" people from their own game but has no proof of it ever happening. Just another person grieving for whatever reason or the other than to acknowledge that some random normal people have invested thousands of hours of their free time to bring you a free mod to play in and have fun with. And what better place to do that then publicly for all to see? Emo Panda, no one believes your crap. Bug off troll.
Isn't this the mod where the devs hardcoded their Steam IDs so they can ultimately abuse on any server? Which they did.
That was Insurgency
That was Insurgency
Their next project is going hilariously off the tracks
Their next project is going hilariously off the tracks
What do you mean?
Insurgency 2 which they plan on selling.
I loved this mod.. IT always sparked an interest for me to learn more about history and to learn of the past. Who ever created the original mod defiantly is awesome.
We're looking for some texture artists for some one off pieces of work/ texture reworks - The Final Push is here guys ... Help us get this launched!!! We are down to our last few items on the art list, the art is 95%done ... expect some updates soon ... but I can't stress how important a little help might be to us, even if it's a one off! I know it's a lot to ask for soooo... as for teasers ... I hope this helps
The final push is almost here, another teaser!
wait its alive?
wait its alive?
We've been working on it since 2011 on and off, so yup! We stopped for quite some time in the summer of 2012 when we announced it dead, but we got it back on track eventually.
IT'S BACK!
more than back
When you posted that first picture, I admit I was first thinking that the dev team was optimistic due to the development history of the mod. Now that you guys are showing that you mean it, as well as explaining why its been taking so long, im starting to think you guys are actually going to make a release. Consider me hyped.
Fucking. Hyped. You guys are some of the most dedicated modders I've seen, and honestly can't wait for this mod to come out! By the way... Have you guys tried contacting Valve to get WW1 Source put out on Steam?
Downloaded this a while back. I was disappointed nobody was on. I'm glad to see it's coming back!
Attention Troops! It's been two months since our last news-update, so we figured it was time for another one. We’ve dropped a few sneak peeks in the past week or so, so a major update is long overdue. The Good News! The artwork for WW1:Source is finally complete. Everything is done – give or take a few updates here and there on older items. This basically means a total overhaul of all characters, weapons and a lot of map assets originally found in WW1:Source 1.13b. The Bad The mod’s not finished yet Media: Volcol, Strayferret and Semmel have been working hard on finalizing the character models, the updated models now have period accurate uniforms, webbing and genebecral equipment. We don’t claim to be 100% true to historical use of weapons/equipment; we can guarantee the equipment was used at some point between 1914 and 1918. For variety we have different faces and helmets – so not everyone will look alike – to add to this we have of course included custom uniforms for officers, so they’re a little easier to pick out at range. The Central Powers The British Empire The characters are rigged, in game and looking quite dashing! We will be sharing renders and some in game videos soon. To follow this – we’ve a little weapon teaser in the form of the Lewis Gun. Modelled by Volcol and textured by Steve Smith at the University of Huddersfield We will be sharing new content and animations when they become available. So, what does all of this actually mean? Well, it means – for want of a better phrase, we’ve reached the final push. We only really have to complete animations now, and implement a new and much more stable code build. The mapping is for the most part complete, animations are being worked on and the code is being built as quickly as possible. We’re close! Could we benefit from some help? We sure could! Our best estimate is that we will be able to approach testing in two months, if you have any experience with coding or animating we’d love to hear from you. We are always looking for help. Beta Testing: The 3rd Marines have put a lot of work and effort into keeping the mod community alive; they regularly hold events that exceed 30 players. We have teamed up with the 3rd marines and are offering testing positions to the top 5 players on their new community drive “The Surge”. Click the banner for more info! General testing applications will be opening up in a few weeks’ time, so keep an eye out for future updates. So for now troops, we hope you’ve enjoyed it, stay tuned The WW1 Source Development Team
Moddb - WW1 Source, July 2013 updated!
