So, might be a little late on the conversation, but double projectile isn't as good as X increase in damage if you're going for sneak attacks. Only the first one gets the damage bonus, and the second aggros the enemy instantly if it doesn't kill them.

I resent the fact that they purposely misled the combat zone in the trailers.
You see the player standing *in the audience* watching (who we now know is cait) kill somebody with a pipe wrench, and you think "hey there's a combat arena that we probably get to fight in, awesome"
But then in some sick ironic twist the combat zone just turns out to be another dungeon filled with raiders
Are there any mentions of new vegas in fallout 4?
Nick Valentine's Mysterious Stranger file contains mention of NCR and even Shady Sands.

what's worse is there's another place similar to it

That's just the West Coast in general though, not specifically New Vegas.
It wouldn't make much sense for New Vegas to be mentioned anyways, it's a bajillion miles away. The only connections the Commonwealth has to the Mojave are the Brotherhood, who have been disconnected for years and don't have a strong presence there anymore anyways, and [sp]Kellogg, who probably passed through at some point if he was going East all those years, but a) you kill him and b) he would've been there years before FNV.[/sp]
If Bethesda went out of their way to acknowledge FNV, it would've felt really forced. They're not ignoring it.
Just want to mention that there are actually only like 3 ways to Vegas, 1 North of goodsprings, 1 north of sloan, and the normal way the game wants you to take, past Boulder City.
The blind deathclaw, as I've mentioned in a previous rant, has one point of perception more than the average deathclaw, and is most considerably not blind gameplay-wise. And it's only in your way if you quickly want to go from the West side of the map to the East side of the map. It is not really a part of a route to vegas.
And the radscorps are not really in your way. They're only around that border of the quarry on the Goodsprings side, and are not on any path towards vegas, unless if you suck at navigating the north goodsprings road IE not staying on it.
Nope there are more paths, you ignored Black Mountain, you ignored following the railroad, you ignored a lot
And the point with the blind deathclaw is because it's only one, not because "it's blind and not going to see you!!!"

NV had plenty of references to 3. The distance works both ways you know. Even having a Sunset Sarsaparilla bottle in some collector house or the obvious reference to House would be enough. In fact not even giving a single background mention to House at least in logs is pretty much Bethesda going out of their way to not acknowledge NV because House was pretty important
But to be honest i don't mind. It helps keeping the two coasts apart and gives me hope for more spinoffs.

I genuinely thought I could actually do something else other than "murder everyone". :v:
So, have any obvious jumping-off points for DLC been discovered? IE, locations with virtually zero purpose and/or suspiciously detailed yet non-functioning objects?
Spoiler tag if appropriate.

I would have really liked this though. Especially since I'm pretty sure House was a Bethesda character first.
edit: also I wonder if [sp]the alien city that may or may not be under the Mojave I've been hearing about[/sp] is Bethesda's response to Avellone's tunneler apocalypse :v:

I should preface this statement by saying that I think F4 is a huge improvement over F3, but I really wish bethesda would just pull their head out of their ass.
Literally nobody is impressed by dungeons full of enemies anymore, there are no slobbering strawmen sitting in the audience who are not going to buy the game if it isn't expected of them to kill absolutely everything inside every game location, these people just don't exist. There's no reason to not have something like a cagefighting tournament or robot racetrack bookies, nobody is going to be offended or upset if you can actually walk into the Suffolk Downs and place a bet on a robot race with a raider bookie, instead of just kicking down the sand castle.

What
Never heard about this and i seriously doubt it. I don't think Bethesda can write dialogue like that. Also he's not essential :downs:

The first time I went in I reloaded my save and then googled it because everyone was shooting me and I thought the game had bugged out. Maybe repetitive rounds of punching raiders in a small arena just wouldn't be satisfying but that whole place reeks of cut content.

Bethesda is either lazy, incompetent, or both.
The combat zone was weird for me. No raiders attacked me when I entered it . I couldn't figure out what to do so I just killed everyone.

Nick's line in Goodneighbor after you do the you-know-what is either a hint for a future DLC or something the developers were planning and scrapped, but forgot about. Because that shit was way too story changing for them to have just been like "hah we're gonna put this little scene in and then do nothing with it".

The sad thing is that many people who don't want more "boring dialogue" for them to skip and would prefer just going around killing baddies probably are out there
2 had the boxing in Reno. NV had the Thorn. It wouldn't be even out of place for the game.
... whole place reeks of cut content.
On one hand I'm excited to see what kinds of content is locked away, but on the other hand, I'll be rather disappointed if it's something like NV level of cut. There'd be absolutely no reason for such massive cuts, they aren't under ridiculous technical limitations anymore.
Here's hoping anything that was cut gets made into an official EoL mod by the devteam like what happened with NV.
Being PC only, they can put things back in that they had to strip away to fit within console constraints.

when he started talking about his [sp]memories of the real nick[/sp] for his loyalty quest, I thought he was going to say [sp]kelloggs memories, and the quest would involve more digging in kellogg's past[/sp]
The second half of the main story makes me think the game was rushed for a pre-holiday release date.
I have no idea if anyone stumbled upon this yet, seeing as this is a pretty funny thing to come across, but remember Codsworth and how he mentions [sp]General Atomics?[/sp], there's a whole park dedicated to [sp]Codsworth like robots[/sp], I don't really want to spoil it, but anyway I think they could very easily pull off stuff like this way more often.
also, how come there's never an opportunity to use the memory den properly? seems like wasted potential not to catch a glimpse of life before the war

Honestly if they had to cut three more boring dungeons just for that, I sure as hell would've taken it :v:
Maybe I'm just strange but I'd rather have more unique interactions\quests than more boring locations to visit.
Welcome to generic subway number 10, enjoy your stay. If I was working on the game I think I would've cut quite a few locations just to add more fun quests into the game, maybe even work on some proper character development for the wife and stuff, and the other companions.

More quests? But the game already has infinite™ radiant™ quests! speak with preston garvey today
