If FO4Edit was properly released and there was more of an understanding of the new records/record fields, I'd completely recommend doing that. I just don't think it's a good idea for new modders to FO4Edit just to be on the safe side, though.
If someone had Oblivion/Fallout 3/New Vegas/Skyrim installed, though, I'd definitely say to go and try out the respective Edit tool for at least one of them (especially New Vegas and Skyrim). Mods created in those are going to be a lot less prone to problems caused by the tools.
I'm not sure what's the worst that could happen other than the savegames going corrupt. He could always backup his entire F4 installation along with his configs just in case. That's what I do before modding any game anyway.
I downloaded that sound mod about 4 weeks ago, and believe it or not, it does get Annoying after a while.
Especially when you place down walls rapidly, and each one gives xp.
Man, I wish I could find a limitless Gauss Rifle so that way I can call it 'NEVER BE GAME OVER'.
Idiot Savant version when?
I think the sound mod would work way better if it only played during the idiot savant trigger.
I have to say, why the heck did they axe the companion wheel from NV? It was quicker and more efficient than two dialog trees one after the other just to access held items.
It even told you carry weight capacity right on the wheel itself.

Look how much clearer and more organized it was

We don't even have "stay close / keep distance", "step back" or "be passive / be aggressive" anymore, in any form. And the only way to set melee or ranged is to physically change their equipped weapon, which they can decide against your judgment on anyway.
no, it's much more intuitive when you want someone to stop crowding up to you but you cant command them away because it keeps sucking you into the convo menu
Is there a console command or mod to increase the frequency of legendary drops, independent of difficulty?
Is there a console command or mod to increase the frequency of legendary drops, independent of difficulty?
There's a mod that increases the amount of legendary enemies I think.
iirc the double shot doesn't actually do as much damage as it says
My double shot .308 combat rifle doesn't care
Opinions on this mod? Its called Realistic Survival Damage.

Thinking about restarting my playthrough with survival difficulty, and this time actually stick to it, assuming that this mod removes most of the bullet sponges.
This weapon re-balance mod looks good, any feedback?

This looks nice. Survival should have been like STALKERs master difficulty, where 1-2 shots kills everything, including yourself IMO

That would make it as easy as easy.

IMO, Clear Sky's master difficulty became tedious due to the massive bullet spread. SoC was the bomb though.

so you suggest I stick with bullet sponges?
Healing laser pistols and sentrybot companions are fun.

I find that this is a good mod that makes the early game challenging. But eventually the weapons you use become ridiculous and it does become a little easy. Especially with high DT from the endurance tree. I just disabled it because everything felt too easy late game.

I'm already one hitting enemies on survival I can't imagine doing another 150% damage.

I use this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/222/?
1x player damage 2x enemy damage makes it dying a possibility, but removes a lot of the bullet sponginess of most of the enemies.
what's the point of the tiny little square hole in a bunch of the roofs?
I use it to pass wires from indoor generators to outside connectors.
I think I broke my heavy weapons perks...

Ok, so uh, all my weapons now do a thousand plus damage.
The fuck happened?
I can't wait for mods/DLC that put some super slow rate of fire big guns that don't have spinning barrels.
I'd love a M2 browning kind of machinegun that's adapted for power armor infantry handling rather than having it be mounted.

I have no idea how this happened but holy shit.

Initial thoughts: Holy shit this mod is great.
Notable changes:
Guns are no longer direct upgrades of one another
Combat Shotguns don't do more damage than Double Barrels
Overseer's Guardian is no longer the best gun in the entire game
Institute Guns are no longer toys
and many more seriously give this thing a looksee

I'm using this for a melee stealth playthrough.
Basically it involves sprinting from cover to cover in between enemy reloads in order to get close enough to stab them. It's pretty easy when there's one or two enemies but in groups, it becomes serious mad dashing everywhere. It's a nice change of pace from standing way back and plinking constantly which was what ended up happening when I turned the difficulty up on my last playthrough.
A fully upgraded .50 Caliber Hunting Rifle does more damage than a Fully upgraded .308 Overseer's Guardian per bullet etc.

Does this mod work in the beta?
also, how come there's never an opportunity to use the memory den properly? seems like wasted potential not to catch a glimpse of life before the war
I bet it will be used for an Anchorage-like pre-war DLC of the protagonist fighting in China.
Does this mod work in the beta?
No idea, it's an .esp mod if that means anything
Does this mod work in the beta?
If the beta changed anything about balance, then this will override it anyway.
You're good to go, if you can figure out how to get mods working.

More like, literal destruction. Dunno if I wanna roll back on 12 quests just so I can fix the damage.

So I am one level away from getting gun nut 2 and making an explosive 50cal sniper. I'm not even level 15 yet.
I can't tell you how excited I am.
