[QUOTE=ClarkWasHere;49207091]If the beta changed anything about balance, then this will override it anyway.
You're good to go, if you can figure out how to get mods working.[/QUOTE]
Just edit plugins.txt and set it to read-only.
I have not once used the assault rifle.
[QUOTE=BananaFoam;49207071]I bet it will be used for an Anchorage-like pre-war DLC of the protagonist fighting in China.[/QUOTE]Or for their time serving as a defense attorney.
[QUOTE=Reagy;49207108]More like, literial destruction. Dunno if I wanna roll back on 12 quests just so I can fix the damage.

Do Deathclaws explode when you punch them?
I found my favorite weapon so far. <3Railway Rifle<3

[QUOTE=RJ102;49206261]kinda just realized one of the things I was sorta excited for and letdown was the sole survivor being this source of pre-war information for the wasteland citizens but the chances you do get to reveal you're more than 200 years old everyone just everyone just usually go "woah. seriously? huh. well anyway" and automatically believe you but quickly disregard that or very rarely go "you're bullshiting me" before being convinced one dialogue option later. otherwise nobody really cares about you and just throw you places without you having a say otherwise.
i don't know what I was expecting with Bethesda writing but I was kinda hoping for the sole survivor to be a bit more.. iunno, not wooden and just there? sometimes things feel so sterile and apathetic but yet the core gameplay is good aaa[/QUOTE]
I wish there were more opportunities for it but I don't think he's the first pre-war survivor they've encountered.
Some ghouls are still around from before the war, although the PC being in such good condition should raise eyebrows, but I doubt he's even the first person to be in cryo-sleep either.
[QUOTE=Brt5470;49206360]How big is the whole Bethesda Softworks team, the team which works on these major RPG's?[/QUOTE]
80 people did fallout 3, iirc they sit close to/a bit over 100 now.
[QUOTE=yellowoboe;49207139]Do Deathclaws explode when you punch them?[/QUOTE]
Anything explodes if I even let alone tap them, had to roll to that older save, stuff just isn't fun when even your weakest weapon can 1 shot anything.
One weapon i miss and want to be added is the Anti-Material Rifle from New Vegas. It was hilarious shooting headshot on a deathclaw and watching him do a backflip or sending a poor human flying 50 feet away :v:
About the background of the male and female protags,
Nora mentions she hasn't had use of her law degree in a long time (if ever) and the way Nat talks about the diploma suggests that she got the degree [I]after[/I] she met him. Since she also mentions returning to civilian life (unclear whether she means both of them or just Nat) I think it gives quite a prominent window in which Nora was not raising a child and also not working as an attorney, which is where the player can decide what exactly she's done with her life outside of her occupation and having a kid with Nat.
It's also never indicated how long Nat was in the war (just that he was cleared and went back to civilian life by the start of the game), what his rank was and the reasons for his return to civilian life. That means the player has a lot of freedom to determine what exactly the two potential protagonists were doing before the war.

[QUOTE=hypno-toad;49206373]The problem is "the way they want" involves hundreds and hundreds of hostile locales. They even have entirely unique conversations of raiders you can overhear shortly before you drive a sword into their collar bone. The game is extremely combat-centric, to the point where they actually begin to waste resources on things nobody cares about or is going to even hear. Not to say this is not exactly a new problem, because Fallout 3 suffered from it too.
If they diverted those resources into things that don't involve shooting gallery combat, such as gambling at a racetrack, or organizing arena fights, it'd be a lot better.[/QUOTE]
Yeah don't get me wrong I agree
It's just I've looked up a lot of stuff on their design process because I'm trying to strengthen my portfolio for an industry job and they actually have a ton of great info in the wild when it comes to project planning, level design, etc. But at the same time due to their small team size they are very strict in their process to the point that it doesn't really offer great flexibility in what they can pull off with their games if they want to avoid another morrowind (9ish year development time). It's why they tend to still stick with the same engine, the same general principles to their games, etc but try and improve on those things with new systems and design tweaks from game to game.
While their small dev studio sounds like a great idea in terms of allowing them to do what they want and experiment more game to game, I really do think they should seek more outside help in areas they are weak in. I.E. writing. They are so rich that there really isn't an excuse and they'd be able to easily afford a couple dozen or so more employees to get more of that kind of stuff in the game and soften the rough areas.
Is Bloody Mess perk supposed to do nothing visually at rank 1? I don't noticed anything exploding into gory bits.
Like, where is my exploding torsos with a big ole' baseball bat swing?

it rarely happens now. the big draw of the perk is the boost in damage

Well, the sniper rifle is pretty close to that, in .50 receiver. You can even get a muzzle break that looks like the one in Anti-Mat. rifle, but kinda uglier.
I'm not one for going crazy with Rifleman perks tho, and killing everything from insane distances..
but I just [B][I]love[/I][/B] having a Sniper Rifle for those occasions when you set a camp away from a Mutant settlement, then start picking the bastards off one at a time. Oh and obviously fuck the silencer.

Sometimes your enemies go Bloody Mess. Not always.
Then after a while, if it becomes too annoying/frequently occurring, you may safely remove the Perk with a console command.

Replacing the .gif extension with .webm and using [vid] tags instead of [img] tags on any imgur link will drastically reduce the file weight and increase loading speed.
It's also a lot more considerate of users with very limited data caps.
I like how this game is still a Bethesda game at heart. Just with a fresh coat of paint. All the stupid bugs are still part of the experience.
So here's a thing I discovered, turns out that any food or water you place (or is generated by a settlement) in the workbench will actually be consumed and count towards the water/food requirements for villagers. Food and water isn't just a number you need to match with your population, there's actually a cycle of production and consumption.
These items are shared with supply lines, so indirectly, surplus water and food can indeed be shared with other settlements. Instead of each settlement requiring a food and water source, you can set up a few settlements for the sole purpose of supplying your empire. Or even manually supply it yourself if you really want to.
slightly increased the saturation in Hancock's coat. I know it's a wasteland but jesus man it looked way too washed out
will drop it on the nexus later tonight, that is if my mod doesn't get removed for copyright for including Bethesda's textures without their permission
It is complete. Silenced explosive 50cal sniper at level 13.

I mean, I wasn't expecting it to instakill super mutants with a stealth bodyshot, but... Actually that's exactly what it does. Holy shit.
For some reason explosive damage seems to act as an ENORMOUS overall damage buff when calculated for sneak attacks. Would level 2 rifleman have anything to do with that?

There's fun bugs like fucky ragdoll physics and occasional dialogue animation jitters, and then there's the favorite weapon system being completely non-functional...

Despite its flaws and issues in design it's still the best game I've played this year - and it had some severe competition.
I mean sure the dialog UI is trash (more because of how people move around too much and cut dialogue as a result than because of the dialogue layout) and the overly procedural handling of most quests, containers and special weapons is disappointing, but the game hits the mark on so many aspects that I can very easily forgive it. I had difficulties having fun in Vanilla Skyrim (modded Skyrim has been a blast ever since though), but vanilla Fallout 4 is absolutely amazing and is the first Bethesda game I play that has actually enjoyable combat, rather than horrible or simply serviceable combat.
Basically even with the few issues that it has it's still way up there.

I have no idea, I think the save just corrupted at somestage and it caused my damages to get an extra 0 put on the end/+1000 damage, all my base guns do the same damage (1050) on that save.
