So if you were to grind forever you could theoretically get every level of every perk? Or is there a general level cap?
Theoretically there's no level cap, but technically there probably is, but it could be as high as Int64.MaxValue which in decimals is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807. Just leveling from 59 to 60 is agonizing, so you would probably never ever reach this cap without cheating. Anyone got any tips for raking in lots of XP? I'm just fucking around in the glowing sea, but the enemies are too easy to kill or grant too little XP.
Effective level cap's 318. No real level cap, but you can only reach the 60,000s before the game starts breaking.
effective as in 'now you have all perks'? Do we even gain anything from leveling other than a perk?
So if you were to grind forever you could theoretically get every level of every perk? Or is there a general level cap?
Effective level cap's 318. No real level cap, but you can only reach a hard cap in the 60,000s before the game literally starts breaking. Far as I know, anyway.
effective as in 'now you have all perks'? Do we even gain anything from leveling other than a perk?
"Effective" as in "they don't do anything anymore since you've maxed out everything".
So if you were to grind forever you could theoretically get every level of every perk? Or is there a general level cap?
I'm level 72 now. And it doesn't slow down exponentially, you just run out of quests to do so eventually it's a massive wall of lack of content to get XP for at some point.
Personally I'm going to complete the MQ with a few detours here and there, and once that's done, crank the difficulty all the way up and start really exploring. Leaving myself with plenty of challenging postgame content. [editline]t[/editline] Then once I'm bored with that, I'll use what I learned in my first playthrough to do a speedrun just for fun. Might record and segment it if I can get a decent route.
There's no cap per se, but it seems like the general jist is most people are "finishing" their characters around 50-60- as in do most of the content around that and start a new playthrough around there. Take that with salt though, I'm 56 and still haven't officially started the post main-quest content.
Wait so there's actual stuff that only occurs after MQ?
Wait so there's actual stuff that only occurs after MQ?
As far as I know, there's not. Like, I finished the with the BoS ending, and they're just feeding me endless radiant quests. I fucking hate those quests with a passion. They should not even be in the game. They're a waste of effort, because they're not even fun the first time... 'fetch me a random item, then go do the exact same thing'.
but it's true, having curie is like having a dog. and who else is there besides piper, cait and that ghoul?
Macready from Goodneighbour. Synth from Institute. Strong from Trinity Tower. Paladin Danse. Deacon. Preston Garvey.
Fuckin vertibirds...

There was this really cool looking metal skyscraper around the outskirts of downtown, so I approach it, but I couldn't find an entrance. Like, there literally was no entrance, not even a fake door, it was just a huge 4 sided metal building with no windows or anything. What the fuck.
Fuckin vertibirds...
Pilot was tearing up at this heartfelt moment but forgot he was flying a vertibird.
I got Dogmeat a brand new dog bowl from an overdue book return machine, but whenever I put it down, it gets misplaced by the time I visit the settlement again. Is that a bug, or is the game implying Dogmeat is actually carrying it like real dogs tend to do? Also, I'm very disappointed Strong won't wear the pompadour wig I got him.
i hope whatever dlc comes out references the factions you sided with for the main quest
i hope whatever dlc comes out references the factions you sided with for the main quest
I honestly just hope the DLCs are their own separate thing. I don't want to be locked out of certain things because I didn't side with a certain faction.
A post apolaypse New York would make an interesting setting for a DLC, or an entirely new spin off like New Vegas.

Preston Garvey is just so poorly acted, and is dull as dish water while giving stupid annoying jobs. Who's fucking idea was it to put him in the game as a main character?!
Preston Garvey is just so poorly acted, and is dull as dish water while giving stupid annoying jobs. Who's fucking idea was it to put him in the game as a main character?!
To make things worse i'm pretty sure someone at Bethesda's office is scratching his head right now thinking "Why don't people love Preston? He's such a nice, moral guy! And he gives you so many quests!"
On my current playthrough where I'm ignoring most story stuff, I just killed him and the people with him the very first time I saw him since I installed a no essential NPC mod. Oddly enough, he doesn't actually drop the gun that he has, it's not in his inventory when he dies.
Fucking finally a mod that removes that bullshit rimlighting on characters http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3771/? Oh its just a console command well that's silly
There just needs to be a mod that lets you add a giant trash can to your settlements, and you can just put shitty characters in there.
This game is getting weirder and weirder as I play it. First I find place where there is a really weird sloshing water sound, and as I try and find the source of the noise this happens. Then once I'm done with that I get to land and turn a corner to find a flock of about 15 institute synths that are all pissed at me. Also I got to level 60 last night, and is it me or do the enemies suddenly become a bunch harder to kill once you get to 60. Like before it I was one shotting most things, now everything is taking quite a few shots to down.
Isn't the Enclave like, deader than dead after FO3 and Broken Steel? Besides, I thought everyone hated the Enclave in FO3 since it made very little sense that it can still be the powerhouse it was after the events of FO2.
Yup, it was lazy writing to reshape the BoS as knights in shining armour and bring back the supposedly destroyed Enclave as the other half of them. People praised New Vegas because the Brotherhood were dicks and the Enclave remnants were just a handful of old people living normally around the wastes. Better to let the Enclave stay dead for the second time and move on to something new.
Those two screens were from a video. Using it in my FO4 "review" video
A post apolaypse New York would make an interesting setting for a DLC, or an entirely new spin off like New Vegas.
New York is a bit overdone, in my opinion.
This just happened: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/m4pkfuvhyikfgmz/2015-12-01_13-03-09.png?dl=0[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/uurjkvxiubpwb3m/2015-12-01_13-03-49.png?dl=0[/t] Not cool, brother.
New York is a bit overdone, in my opinion.
How bout a tropical area looking at the more touristy areas of that faux-50's. Like Miami, Orlando, that kinda stuff.
New York is a bit overdone, in my opinion.
Also no longer a habitable place, apparently (huge crater).
