explain the perk chart
You're looking at a flier.
Enough period music is now public domain that Bethesda could probably get away with a lot more than what they've got.
There's still the matter of picking songs that are actually fitting to the theme, and songs that are actually good.
you can have both actually
Are there people actually bothered with the font size?
explain the perk chart
It's literally a poster full of stickers? Like I said a lot of the stuff on the Pipboy and other UI elements only exist for the convenience of the player, not the character, while still being physically present in the world
You're looking at a flier.
Heck even the special videos showed that it was a flier.
There's still the matter of picking songs that are actually fitting to the theme, and songs that are actually good.
They tried way too hard to make every single song somehow about radiation. You could play almost literally any '40s-'50s piece and it would fit after passing through radio filters.
I went ahead and took a photo from how far I usually sit. [thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/58708609/Pictures/Normal/FuckMeDoIFeelImmersed.png[/thumb] Fuck me dude am I immersed.

You wouldn't want your eyes being burned to a crisp. :v:
I'm surprised they went for as minimalist a HUD as possible and then shoved everything possible into the Pip-Boy. I don't think I've ever gone to my stats page, it's completely useless now. Meanwhile 80% of what you need is in the inventory screen. I've literally not been able to complete a quest because I have to read a note, but I can't find it because I'm 37 hours into the game and I didn't think to clear out my misc. menu so it's literally got a hundred+ things in it.
They tried way too hard to make every single song somehow about radiation. I would keep it on, but I'm tired of hearing the same songs.

Because I didn't moify the FoV and this is how it looks on my end [t]http://puu.sh/lsdw8/808f531c17.jpg[/t] And that's without being zoomed in.
yes, viewing a picture of a screen from our screen through the FOV of a camera gives us a very great idea of the exact circumstances that we all happen to have already experienced.
Pretty accurate I'd say, I already have that same argument on the previous page word for word and you ignored it them.
I'm already a foot from my computer screen, I don't need to be another food from my pipboy to feel immersed.
But I guess it's okay when you do it.

Like, I play at 90 FOV. Plunger, are you running quake extreme FOV or something? I'm realizing it's a bit pointless though, since I'm remembering that I don't actually care much about Bethesda's plots. Piper's character tricked me into thinking I would enjoy the story more than I am.
Well, you are playing at a unnaturally ridiculously high FOV that the game wasn't meant to really be played at.
How is 90 fov unnaturally ridiculous?
a ridiculous fov of 90 or 100 aka the standard for modern pc fps games?
That looks way higher than that.
I seriously don't remember it ever being as far away as plunger's. Like, I play at 90 FOV. Plunger, are you running quake extreme FOV or something?
How is 90 fov unnaturally ridiculous?
According to the Bethesda it is :v:
That looks way higher than that.

do you have the viewmodel fov at a different number? that's where the issue comes from also viewmodels are fucking ginormous in this game, institute rifle with a scope, assault rifle with a scope, and default missile launcher all take up approx 40% of the screenspace
probably something to do with this. ini modding through a bunch of incomplete ini tweak threads is exhausting, so few of us have ever changed the viewmodel FOV. Try just, you know, zooming in, Plunger. 90 isn't unnaturaly high for PC gaming, but the game was designed for 55 or 60 in mind, because people are stupid, I guess.
This is not Skyrim, in Skyrim anything that didn't make sense happens because "magic", I like to imagine that whenever I levelled up My character would meditate and go into this lucid state where he can see the constellations infront of him, guiding and teaching him new skills.
Seek a career in politics.
i like the default tight FOV
you can change the viewmodel FOV seperate from the camera FOV, which is what his problem is. He changed the FOV in that scene without changing the FOV of the viewmodels, which causes that distortion. If you keep the viewmodel FOV at the default, regardless of camera FOV, the pipboy is WAY closer, and the zoomed in Pipboy fills near the whole screen on right click not defending the UI as a whole but, plunger435's image of the UI is not very accurate. It's like turning up the viewmodel FOV in Half-Life 2 and complaining that the viewmodels have holes in them when you go past viewmodel FOVs of 70 -- because you weren't intended to see them that far.
What are you talking about? The viewmodel fov should be able to match the view fov, that's how fov is meant to work. And I know, I had to purposefully set my viewmodel fov higher since it's not in the ini's.
i like the default tight FOV
I wish I could, but it makes me motion sick to play at the default FOV.
What are you talking about? They can be different. I'm not sure I understand how you changed the viewmodel FOV though? If that's even possible?
Eh, not in 99% of games where the viewmodel isn't the worldmodel. I'm not sure I understand how you changed the viewmodel FOV though? If that's even possible?
Xubs mentioned it up the page already. Most games sync viewmodel and view fov, STALKER, Source engine, etc.
Thanks

[thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/58708609/Pictures/Normal/FuckMeDoIFeelImmersed.png[/thumb] Fuck me dude am I immersed.
That pipboy is way further from the camera than it ever was on my end. If you're using FOV mods and are setting the FOV that high, then you should probably just reduce the hud until you can actually see. I sit also just about that far from the monitor and I can see the info perfectly. Like, am I the only one who legitimately doesn't mind a UI that's not that good ? If it takes me ten more seconds to navigate the menus then whatever, I'll deal with it. I never bothered with any of the UI mods in Oblivion, never bothered in Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and only bothered in Skyrim because it was necessary for mods (both because of the sheer amount of content added with mods and because of MCM). The only grievance I have so far with the UI is what's already been mentioned with the MISC category covering way too many things, and that's going to be resolved really fast with mods allowing the player to drop keys. Also there's a setting in the .ini file that allows you to change the fov of the pipboy specifically.
