That pipboy is way further from the camera than it ever was on my end. If you're using FOV mods and are setting the FOV that high, then you should probably just reduce the hud until you can actually see. I sit also just about that far from the monitor and I can see the info perfectly. Like, am I the only one who legitimately doesn't mind a UI that's not that good ? If it takes me ten more seconds to navigate the menus then whatever, I'll deal with it. I never bothered with any of the UI mods in Oblivion, never bothered in Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and only bothered in Skyrim because it was necessary for mods (both because of the sheer amount of content added with mods and because of MCM). The only grievance I have so far with the UI is what's already been mentioned with the MISC category covering way too many things, and that's going to be resolved really fast with mods allowing the player to drop keys. Also there's a setting in the .ini file that allows you to change the fov of the pipboy specifically.
Fantastic man, congrats that you can excuse a shitty UI, that doesn't mean everyone else should have suffer? Changing the pipboy fov lowers my weapon fov as well.
Was questing around, found a small raider base on Waterfront, and in a common ammo box there were 4 full fusion cores :what:
I play on 90 FOV and the UI hasn't been a problem with me. As long as it can display more than five items at a time on a list I'm perfectly okay with it.
Seek a career in politics.
Is there a joke in there somewhere? I'm not following.
I have only just learned that you can equip hats on Codsworth. He looks the shit kicking ass on the wasteland in his little bowler hat :v:

A shitty UI is not like a bad written quest or some broken-ass item that you can utterly ignore if you really want to. You have to deal with a bad UI all the time and it can get really distracting and annoying
Was questing around, found a small raider base on Waterfront, and in a common ammo box there were 4 full fusion cores :what:
I keep finding ammo boxes like that all over, I found one near Sanctuary too, probably why I have 58 of them.
Holy FUCK my performance in [sp]the nuclear option[/sp] is terribad. From 60 flat looking one direction to 4 looking in the other. What a terribly made level fuckkkkk
My only issue with the Pip boy is that it becomes literally illegible when invisible. The text is either too bright, blends with he background too well or is literally invisible, but I'm hoping that will be fixed
viewmodel FOV changes how distant away from the camera your viewmodels are (technically). Camera FOV is the view of your character's "eyes" in the game world. When you increase viewmodel FOV, your guns get further from the screen, INDEPENDENT of the actual camera FOV. Many games have weird distortion on their viewmodels if you set the FOV of the viewmodels high. A lot of them also have holes in their models if you set them high. For example, if you set the viewmodel FOV of HL2's weapons to 64 or higher, you might notice some weird holes on the viewmodels because there are portions of them meant to be offscreen. The Pipboy is no exception, it was built with a specific FOV and the reason it is so distant on your screen is because you have the viewmodel FOV too high, so it's not an accurate image showcasing normal gameplay. I would normally agree with you, I don't like the UI either, but that's hardly an accurate image. I defend Bethesda on this because viewmodel FOV is almost never an official option in ANY game I've played, much less than regular FOV. The only games I can think of where it's an official option are the more recent Battlefield games.
CSS, Quake, GTA 5, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Battlefield, are all mainstream games that change the viewmodels FOV, it's also the only way in Fallout 4 to stop the weapons from taking up half the screen.

I have like 40 fusion cores and I STILL can't bring myself to use my power armour for extended periods of time. It's the hoarder in me resisting.

The ui REALLLLY should show recently acquired at the top, at least in the misc section. Keys should be in their own tab/a key ring. Like, my misc tab is so fucking long it takes a good 30+ seconds to get through each time. It's a problem that doesn't make sense, why remove holotapes/notes from the data tab? It was fine in fo3 and nv.
Can I get a link to that mod?
Is the GECK out yet? Can you please stop complaining about things that can't be fixed right now?
Is the GECK out yet? Can you please stop complaining about things that can't be fixed right now?
You just told us if we wanted a better UI to get mods. And for real? No one can complain about anything in a bethesda game until mods can fix it?
The whole settlement system feels very half-finished and feels like an excuse to not make more major towns.
those seconds add up its like in wind waker when you play a song and it repeats by itself after you play it, sure it's annoying but it also takes up roughly half an hour of gameplay time once it's all set and done
Maybe, but since the game is paused while you're looking at the menu, does it matter?
what i meant to say was fallout 4 is a perfect masterpiece, let me go get my photoshop running so i can add todd to my avatar
We need to be a couple of Uncle Todds.
Is the GECK out yet? Can you please stop complaining about things that can't be fixed right now?
Then why the hell are you being so defensive about people complaining then when you know that a) things are broken and b) they can't be fixed yet? The seconds adding up as RichyZ said get really annoying while you play. If for some reason that doesn't bother you, congratulations i guess, but you're the exception, not the rule.
Maybe, but since the game is paused while you're looking at the menu, does it matter?
How could I forget the patented Bethesda feature where pausing the game pauses the real world too.
Are there any legit ways to get that black BoS Uniform? I cant seem to find the one i took off the dead paladin in that one mission. Also im on ps4 so no console
Honestly I stopped noticing how obtuse and clunky the ui is after a while because I just got used to it. There are things that stipple bugged me like aforementioned favorite item issues and the misc. tab but for navigation I just got used to clicking one or two more times than I normally would.
I want a mod that makes playing games on your pipboy not stop time, a cool alternative to waiting. Also different tabs for holotapes, notes, keys and all that stuff would be great too, that's the only real problem I found about the UI tbh.

From these last few pages, I've deduced that a more immersive inventory experience would be for your character to take off his giant 240 pound backpack of ammo, mini nukes, miniguns, and teddy bears so you can sift through all of your items youve collected with no pesky inventory screen destroying your immersion.
