They can steal the inventory from the Alone in the Dark remake.

I actually really liked that as a concept.
Freedom Radio is the comfiest station for building

I made the mistake of leaving Freedom Radio on too long and got 2 missions in a single firefight

the best inventory system of all time
I feel like the UI is clunky on purpose to fit with the theme of the game and add more immersion.
I imagine the clunky old pip-boy would be pretty aggravating to use IRL, like being forced to do your shit on an old DOS computer when you're used to an iphone.
I swear to god putting all my companions in the Red Rocket gas station was the best idea I've had
It's fun watching them all talk at the same time when I shoot at nothing
Also a wild Radstag (?) passed by the station and suddenly all my followers started shooting it, I wish i had recorded it
You just told us if we wanted a better UI to get mods.
And for real? No one can complain about anything in a bethesda game until mods can fix it?
I suppose I misphrased that, it getting late over here and I'm not thinking straight.
What I am trying to say that fallout 4's UI is not perfect, because it was made by human beings who are naturally prone to error and misjudgement, but it's not the worst UI in the whole world, there are other titles that have way less intuitive UI. I find it is useable in its current state (You chose to increase the Viewmodel FoV because you thought the weapon models took half the screen, but from my experience increasing the FoV doesn't make that much a difference unless you increase it to absurd distances away from your screen, at which point I find it uncomfortable)
It is useable in its current state, but if you really hate it so much that you can't play the game you will have to wait until Bethesda actually tries to fix it (Very Unlikely, the only thing you can expect is convenience fixes, but nothing much until their next game) or wait for mod tools to come out and someone/you make(s) a mod that fixes the UI to your liking.
I didn't mean to say that you can't complain about it, I am tired and didn't know what I was saying. But personally I never found explicitly complaining to help unless there's a way to fix what I'm complaining about, or the issue is so bad I can't continue using the product because of it (Like constant crashes or something), I didn't mean to impose my own code of conduct on you, and I'm sorry.
There's a lot of things about the UI to complain about other than its size, because that's literally the least likely thing to get modded anyway.
There, I wrote whole fucking essay about it. I'm going to sleep now, hopefully this debate is over by tomorrow.

That doesn't make it a good UI. Something poorly done on purpose doesn't make it not poorly done.

Yey.

PS: Eh, all NPCs, including companions.
In power armor I hold my pistol with one hand and I hold melee weapons in one hand, Bethesda why did you fuck it up and disallow me from dual wielding a ripper and a 10mm auto.

I challenge anyone to do something good with Nordhagen Beach that also incorporates that little unremovable shack it starts with because I really need some ideas. I could just completely ignore it and make a small beachside resort closer to the water but that feels too easy.
Trying my hand at modifying textures, I wanted more detailed normal maps, so I decided to modify it. I tried to make the pattern smaller than that but it's practically invisible otherwise, plus there is a little bit of stretching going on on lower parts making it larger. It looks fine in the game anyway. I'm using Substance Designer. Normal map is 2k.

I was seriously hoping dual-wielding would be a thing in this game since it was such a big part of Skyrim...

That is very cool looking. If my Computer wasn't a piece of shit I would totally use a texture mod that does that.

We've actually gained an extra row for displaying items, and the right shows more useful information too.
(Ignore Value/Wt, that's the result of a mod fucking up text)
If you look at the left side of the pip-boy's screen on the New Vegas pic, you might realise that it has a scrollbar, which might be useful when trying to look at a note I picked up that starts with the fucking letter w. I mean, they don't put a scrollbar AND THEY CAN'T BE ARSED TO PUT A SORTING OPTION FOR REVERSE ALPHABETICAL ORDER!?!

I saw it how they pulled it off in The Witcher 3, ever since then everything has to look like that or even better for me.
I kinda fear that I'm fanning the flames or some shit here, but I feel like saying it anyway.
What is the whole UI argument about? It could be better, therefore it should be, nobody can really argue against that. Sure, it isn't, which is why I'm hoping someone tries their hand. Hell if I knew how to program that shit I'd be willing to try my hand at it, but as of right now blegh
There's really nothing left to argue there, if you like the Pip-boy as is, good for you; just stop being against the idea that it could be better. Sure some people are going a bit overboard calling it literally the worst UI ever, but that's the internet for you, people exaggerate.
As a disclaimer I did kinda skip some posts so it's entirely possible I missed something and this is all useless and if that's the case my bad, but as far as I've seen just deal with the fact that it could be better, and hope for the people who want it to be better for it to someday be better, I don't really understand the argument against it.
Anyone else getting shit fps when in the city? I can max out and average 40 or some frames in the north, but if i get in the city my fps tanks no matter what the settings. If I reload a game it will be smooth as fuck at first but then just get slower and slower. Sorta the same issue I have with Battlefield 4 and Battlefront, and to a much lesser extent with GTA 5.

I just think people are making way too big a deal out of it - it's serviceable as it is and believable from a lore perspective. If someone improves it, great, I'll probably use it. But I'm seeing people spouting off shit like "people who think this is fine should kill themselves" and "this ruined the whole game for me"
it's ridiculous
They can steal the inventory from the Alone in the Dark remake.
How exactly do you implement that when the character can carry around three rocket launchers and enough ammo to fire them for ten consecutive hours ?

my only issue with the UI is that it makes it look too much like a console game. Because of it's pure cosmetic significance though I don't mind it.
[sp]Can I still get the institute ending if I give the network scanner holotape to the brotherhood?[/sp]
The pipboy UI literally killed my family.
