The requirements for 100 happiness seems kind of absurd and non-conductive to roleplay. I mean, I need 16 level 3 shops apparently? That's a bit BS.
The Atom Cats are just cheap ripoffs of the Tunnel Snakes.
They can't be that cheap if they have fucking POWER ARMOR, JACK!
does that gun just use the animation for the 10mm pistol? that's really lazy if so, like mod-level
No it has its own animations. Pulling it out, it racks a round in with the slide. Reloading, it doesn't hit a slide release, but pulls the slide back further and then lets go
I'd rather avoid just spamming shops to get 100% happiness, kinda sucks the fun out of it.
[sp]I was doing a brotherhood quest and the guy told me that the railroad needed to be taken out. Soon as I got the option to go through with it I walked away. He was all "Paladin! We're not finished talking!". Ain't no one taking out the railroad till I do all their quests.[/sp]
This "Immersive Facial Animation" mod, while breaking people's faces 90% of the time, actually does a good job of making people show real emotions.

And this raider must be on Psycho. Terrifying.

Yes they do.
4 settlers work on food to cover the 20 people in the settlement.
Then you have the other 16 running Clinics, Bars, Outfitters and General Stores. Weapon and armor shops don't give happiness.
Got the trophy the other day, only cost me about 10k caps and waiting around a bit.

Happiness gives no benefit anyway, only reason to do it is for the Trophy.

That's not true, it still influences sneaking, bartering, melee damage, persuasion, actions points, running speed/time, etc.
It's not as useful because no new perks accompany it, but if you're looking to completely cap any of those above things, then it's worthwhile. Also the cool factor of going to 11

I thought there were severe diminishing returns in regards to 11 and up.

i can tell that image is very obviously fake
the traders in my settlement are literally NEVER at their stools, exception made for that clothesman who is a fucking champ
I thought there were severe diminishing returns in regards to 11 and up.
I don't think there is. With 11 charisma I wore agathas dress and fashionable glasses (15 charisma total) and bartering prices still get better as you go up
Likewise melee damage still goes up after you go past 10 strength, health goes up as you go past 10 endurance, etc. Your experience with luck is not the case with the other attributes.
Real talk why do you get power armor and fight a deathclaw an hour into the game? It's as if the fight with Balmung took place on the 10th page of book 1 of LOTR. Things like that deserve build up not "Woooahhh you fight a deathclaw in power armor with a minigun so EPIC DUDE WOOOAAHH" it's just really pisspoor attempt at drawing you into the game
*completes USS Constitution quest*
(Cait disliked that)
"GOD DAMMIT CAIT! How could anyone dislike [sp]a bunch of robots acting like sailors, flying away in a ship with rockets attached to it?!?!!![/sp]

It's to get you the power armor as soon as possible so you can go off and do your own thing.
Well, happiness = more caps from stores but, kinda pointless in the end game.
More stores = more caps. You get 10 caps per store. Happiness doesn't give you any more than that.
With max happiness I was getting 160 caps every refresh. 10 per store, on 85 happiness I'm getting 10 per store.
The power armor at the start is almost worthless, it has just enough health to let you get smacked around a bit by the deathclaw, then it's just a pile of trash until you find a T51 or T-60, or can at least upgrade the t-45 to D-level.
The "lockout" of power armor this time is economics, not a quest point. At the beginning of the game fuel cells are expensive/rare and the armor has terrible fuel economy if you don't have the nuclear physicist perk, so it's not terribly worthwhile using it until later in the game unless you're really committed to power armor usage.

Good, they shouldn't have gave us power armor so early in the first place. You should have to work for it.
Is there anything worthwhile you only get from settlement building? I feel like I'm pretty much set at this point.
So has anyone decided about a new OP? Cause if not, let's just keep this one.
Good, they shouldn't have gave us power armor so early in the first place. You should have to work for it.
It's a great taste of the new mechanics and a good way to make people power armor junkies at the start of the game, while balancing it out so that you can't live in it for the first few hours.
I think it was a good design decision.
Is there anything worthwhile you only get from settlement building? I feel like I'm pretty much set at this point.
You get literally nothing exclusive from settlements. They're just Cap generators and something nice to look at/do.
Think I may have found a weapon that's equally as nasty as the explosive shotgun.
The second you "tag" somebody with a full load of buckshot, they are basically fucked. They bleed to death within 3 seconds.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/YW57Bq.jpg[/t]
I think the shotguns in general may just be an overpowered megaphone for legendary effects
You guys bitch about the op, why doesn't someone just make another thread and abandon this one?

I'm not making any judgements, was just stating how the system works now.
I'm late

I dislike using power armor cause of the UI and how clunky it looks during conversations.
So, how do you guys think they'll add perks through DLC?
I know they could just give them at random interverals like new magazines or companion perks, but I was kind of hoping for a seperate perk sheet or something, given there's infinite leveling.
