Fallout 4's texture system is different now, which means everything from the old games would need to be retextured to fit. The older, low-poly models would also stand out in a really ugly way, most likely.
I think it would be interesting to see a Obsidian Fallout set somewhere in the Four States a few years before Fallout 4 but a few years after Fallout New Vegas.
It would be an interesting setting, [sp]the NCR must have expanded beyond the Colorado if Kellogg is able to travel from the West coast to the East coast.[/sp] The Four States is also where the Legion's main capital is and we might be able to see either the remnants of the Legion or a serverely weakened Legion waiting for a comeback. Since Obsidian also uses stuff from Van Buren, we might also see the Colorado detachment BoS as well.
I'd still like to see one set around Denver and/or CO Springs, with places like Cheyenne Mountain and maybe the Legion + Brotherhood and/or Midwest Brotherhood at odds.
Why's everyone talking about the pipboy UI when the crafting and especially the construction UI is far, far worse?
[editline]24th November 2015[/editline]
Having to wait ~3 seconds for the animation of your character fiddling around before you can exit crafting menus is awful.
That's sadly something that's present in Skyrim as well. It is an issue, but it's less prominent since you only deal with it when you're actually crafting/building, not when you're adventuring.

I use the pipboy a lot more than the crafting though.
I mean I have like 20 different kinds of food, a bunch of different chems, and over a dozen different weapons
cant hotkey nearly all of that shit
The misc section is absolutely horrible this time around. I don't know who's idea it was to move holotapes from "Data" to "Misc" and then get rid of the "New" notifier, but they're an awful person.
Anyone recommend a melee build that doesn't use Power Armor?
Anyone recommend a melee build that doesn't use Power Armor?
STR and AGI heavy. Invest a few points into Endurance, too. AGI has to be at least 9 for that melee vats range thingy.

max strength, max endurance, smack shit
Anyone recommend a melee build that doesn't use Power Armor?
Any build that doesn't take nuclear chemist I guess? Maybe grab some armoured underclothes from the railroad.

Was thinking
9/3/1/1/1/8/5.
Special book to get me the 9th Agility for Blitz.
Per bobblehead to get me lockpicking.
5 luck for Idiot Savant.
Then get moving target and rooted for survivablity.
Then go from there.

That's the same exact build I used and it's working absolutely wonderfully.
I highly recommend a fast-hitting high speed weapon, like a serrated switchblade.

What were the first perks you went for?
I'm thinking:
Level 2: Idiot Savant
Level 3: Rooted
Level 4: Moving Target
Level 5: Blitz
Level 6: Big Leagues
Level 7: Locksmith
Level 8: Blacksmith
Level 9: Armorer
Level 10: Big Leagues
Level 11: Locksmith
Level 12: Toughness OR Bloody Mess OR Action Boy.

I'm a bit tired, so I can't remember exactly what my order was.
Savant was first. I didn't invest into rooted until much later, favoring to be on the move, rather than try and tank damage. Blitz was my second perk. Then after that came damage mods, blacksmith, and action boy. Oh, and armorer. After that point you're pretty equipped to handle anything, even on higher difficulties.

For extra OP, add stealth.
I made a build based on having 7 CHA for Party Boy and being constantly drunk, not quite sure it was worth it.
What are the best settlements to build in/look pretty good already?
I know of Sanctuary, Castle, Red Rocket, Castle & Drive-in.
Covenant is pretty great, are there any similar to that?
Hangman's Alley is nice and compact, Jamaica Plains as some pretty good walls already there, and Covanent is pretty much perfect, though getting it is kind of dodgy.
anyone got a link to the infinite settlement size mod?
Not in a million years.
Talking about that : i still don't understand how anyone can go back to the old FNV gunplay after playing FO4. Beyond me. To each his own i guess.
I don't think anyone played New Vegas for the gunplay alone
The rest of the game is fun enough that you don't get bothered by it being subpar. Depending on your playstyle you don't even have to fire a gun anyway
Also with mods like GBMM it was almost fun! Too bad you had to jump through so many hoops to combine it with other mods like EVE and WMX that you even forgot what "fun" was about in the first place

I wonder if anyone is gonna try backport, with fallout 4 stuff in fallout new vegas
What do you guys mean by saying the scroll wheel is broken in the UI? I haven't had any problems with it.

WHERE
I've always wondered why oblivion's map was never ported to fallout 3/nv, it seems like it'd be fun to dick around in. Maybe port Skyrim's map to Fallout 4.
I wonder if anyone is gonna try backport, with fallout 4 stuff in fallout new vegas
Doubt it
The stuff that isn't already there (like RTS, power armor stuff and weapon modding) can't be ported to the NV engine in a million of years
And let's be honest Fallout 4 is great fun but there's nothing so special on its plot or general worldbuilding and characters that REALLY needs to be ported to 3/NV
WHERE
one of those military outposts with the emergency signals, near University point

+3 luck per different type of alchol? Damn right it's worth it.
I look forward to the CK coming out because then someone better at modding than me can mod in anime holotapes as ammo for the junk jet.

Oh that outpost. Damnit that's where I got the T-51
