I was about to prove you wrong because I had a full set of heavy combat armour in my inventory, but it looks like I thought it was a regular Combat Right Arm and accidentally sold it to god knows who. Welp, thanks for alerting me to my mistake. I don't know about that, I haven't played Oblivion in years but Skyrim feels similar to FO4 and Morrowind feels the same as when I first played it ~13 years ago, probably because it is. Maybe I'm a rare breed but I don't think newer games negate joy found in earlier titles as long as they're still good games.
It's all about getting into the correct mindset. If I were to start some old RPG now, it'd take me time to adjust to the clunky UI and overall the age of the game, but an hour or two later and it feels just like any game. But if I were to just try Fallout 3 quickly after playing 4, it'd be somewhat horrifying. I can't just quickly play something old without it seeming old as balls. That said I've wanted to play Morrowind for a long time, seeing as I never got the chance to actually play it. Feel the same way about a lot of old games, but there's just so much shit going on it's impossible to sit down and start playing those games, especially since they tend to take away a lot of time.
Has anyone got performance improvements with beta patch?
Anyone? :frown: [editline]24th November 2015[/editline]
[t]https://xboxoz360.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/max-payne-3-screenshots-oxcgn-2.jpg[/t] ???
:payne:

The jump in graphics and gameplay was amazing, sure, but not THAT big. It's not like you're sitting down to play Ultima 3 or the original Wasteland But hey i'm probably biased as hell. I still find the original isometric view from the originals charming. As long as people don't outright ignore the originals because "it feels old man" and play them when they feel like it just so they can have fun with them too, it's fine for me.
Hey so could anyone help with my issue from before? I'm getting the thing were spotlights on the ground (from a ceiling light or whatever) are blocky/hexagonal looking, and my lighting as a whole just looks really washed out/as if the brightness has been turned up (which I haven't changed anything since I started playing). Everything looks slightly pale, and I swear the lighting looked way better when I first started.
I was exploring with Curie, saw some Gunners, and she said "perhaps they are friendly" as I hear the whistling of a mini nuke. :v:
I just noticed I have a bit over 450 brooms and 300 Desk Fans. And I still have to drop and scrap shit when crafting weapons because instead the game chooses to use the rarer versions of junk that I'd like to keep because they're unique.
How do you keep settlers/ companions in power armour? I assign inactive settlers and companions to PA to guard my cities but every time I go back the PA will be abandoned in the middle of town, how do I keep them in there?

Railroad ending spoilers [sp]So what if, post-memory wipe, a Synth figures out what they are, and, because of their new personality, decides they're superior to squishy humans? Unless all those shutdown codes got salvaged before blowing up the institute, you'd be fucked. I mean they'd be bound to figure it out when they wonder why everyone except them is aging.[/sp]
[sp] So how come nobody makes a big deal about the Institute having teleportation technology? Everyone is just like "oh, so that's how they do it" and that's it, even though teleportation could be an even bigger gamechanger than synths. Even the BoS doesn't give a fuck about it even though having teleportation tech for themselves would allow them to pretty much control the entire wasteland. [/sp]
Looks like they patched the plugin selection in the beta patch. Gonna have to settle with editing plugins.txt.

[/sp]
[sp]The fact that regardless of ending (except maybe if you side with Shaun? dunno) you just blow all of that valuable technology up and walk the fuck out of there back into the uncivilized shit tip that is the Commonwealth. Why the fuck is there no option to utilize the institute for good?? I understand that they wanted a cool punchy ending, but I would've rather had blowing up the Prydwen as my high impact moment and then would've been much much more happy if we just kept the Institute[/sp]

Like, you understand the concerns of the Institute, and as the leader, you could do something to change that.[/sp]
maybe their fusion core gets depleted?
Settlers and Companions don't need a core to be told to get into Power Armor.
Settlers and Companions don't need a core to be told to get into Power Armor.
they can walk in a fucking powerless power armor, just holding those 100 pounds of junk with the sole force of their shoulders their strength must be at like 50
I was exploring near the harbor and saw something stick up out of the water in the distance so I swam to it and [sp]it's a fucking chinese submarine with a ghoul chinese naval officer in it who wants you to help him get back home[/sp]
[sp]Same here, only this one was a fucking super mutant[/sp]

There's probably no option to [sp]use the institute for good[/sp] because the entire point of the place is that [sp]using it for "good" has lead to 200 years of technological abuse, supermutants, murderous synths and fuckwits playing god while utilizing the outside world as one giant pack of guinea pigs.[/sp] The fact that by the time you get there [sp]your son has been completely indoctrinated, is also a cunt with a holier-than-thou attitude and has been personally directing a project to create child synths, which means they plan on replacing more children with synths, is a good indication that unless you specifically agree with their notion that they have to do some bad shit to have humanity progress forward, the entirety of the institute is a cesspool of abuse and no amount of control over it will fix that.[/sp]
[sp]Yeah let's ignore that there were several scientists that opposed what they did and everyone pretty much just worshiped father, who just gave you the keys to everything.[/sp] [sp]Not to mention all of the synths who don't want to be there.[/sp] Noo, [sp]there's nothing you could possibly do to change it after conveniently being made the leader of the entire thing. Considering all of the above.[/sp]

The same idea still applies, though, in my case at least. I started playing Fallout 2 a week prior to the release of 4 and games that are that old actually don't take much out of me, apart from getting used to the usually clunky UIs. I personally still love the pre-rendered backgrounds and all, which is why Pillars of Eternity looks really, really neat. By the way, are the speech (or Charisma, I guess) checks really dumb to anyone else? During the Silver Shroud finale I kept quickloading back just a second prior to the discussion with the raider fuckhead ( [sp]because I wanted to save Kent[/sp] ) since I kept failing either A: by [sp]Kent[/sp] being killed or B: the speech check for the raider followers to surrender failed, but every once in a while the damn thing went through. I had 9 Charisma, btw. Like what even was the idea there?

I only started to convince people when I fully upgraded lady killer/black widow.
I think we are supposed to file a police report, yes? And all the little things go in little baggies for evidence.
They just need to replace Codsworth at the start of the game with Curie. She is the only companion you will need.
They just need to replace Codsworth at the start of the game with Curie. She is the only companion you will need.
Codsworth is a badass on his own right. "I can't feel pain you know!" while slicing the shit out of a horde of ghouls.
One of the first mods I want, disable helmets in conversations. Haven't wore a helmet at all cause they look dumb in conversations.
