Then it'll be cat & mouse
I think everyone has the same amount of control as anyone.
Would be neat, then you can only see if someone is a player or not by using the surveillance cameras like in the trailer so you must also be aware to stay out of sight when doing suspicious things..
So nobody watches the watch dogs...?
I wonder if that mask the player character immediately pulled up together with his gun has any real effect or is purely cosmetic, and if it has an effect, if you can use it manually just before doing something funny.
I imagine myself screwing my friend over who is trying to drive a car but I screw with the lights and the bridges. A game with this ideas and gameplay has endless potential.

not that anyone stops at lights in games anyway
not that anyone stops at lights in games anyway
Maybe you'll need to actually stay low in order not to attract attention - if you're the sneaky guy, anyway.
Also I wonder how the game would've reacted if you intercepted deMarco (or what's the called) after he exited the car, just with a bullet to the head. Just a complete lack of cutscene? What if you get to his car although you haven't defeated his henchmen yet? Frozen in place or hilarious "aaargh why won't he diiiieeee" - "dude, he's in a cutscene, you can't harm him"?

I'm guessing it prevents recognition from cameras et cetera while wearing it.

Do that enough and cops could be after you?

Would be a cool feature. Trading short-term security (security guards that spot you will be very suspicious) for long-term security (after you get away, it's harder for them to get a profile on you/pursue a specific person).
This game needs a full sandbox mode with options such as toggling police, phones battery/available hacks or even player affiliation (with or against police).
I would get a load of friends into a server and have a massive game where everyone has to catch/kill a single player.
Hell even a race between 2 players where everyone else just has to try and stop them reaching the finishing would be great.
Sadly it's Ubisoft.

Though there's always ~optimistic~
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/07/e3-2012-watch-dogs-coming-to-consoles-and-pc-could-hit-wii-u
Coming to PC, 360, PS3, and possibly Wii U.
Hell yes.
I'd kinda like if there was no way to identify other players as actual players once they join your game. You'd just get that message thing that someone "invaded" and bam, he/she could be anywhere, watching you, helping you out or acting against you.

I pretty much agree, but I think there should be a message letting you know when they join (but not leave, because then you never know, until they join again of course.)
Frankly seems like this game will also have a lot of trolling options, drop in a random game and start fucking the other person up.

That'd be sweet, though you could locate her by following news et cetera of weird stuff happening.

*There should be another message when the other player leaves, telling you his/her name. I think in Dark Souls there is a way to "mark" players, so black phantoms tend to attack them more often. Something like that could be useful to people who really fuck you up.

I think "logged in" would be better than invaded. It's not Dark Souls. Could be pretty awesome though. Join a random game, find a player and silently protect them, making sure they don't see you. Or just fuck with their minds.
Now that I think about it "watching" makes the most sense. Imagine playing your game in single player, minding your own business when in the top corner appears "Ray551 is watching".
I hope there's a nominal amount of traffic in the game, I know the opening sequence showed a ton of movement on the streets but during the gameplay it seemed like there weren't many cars at all, save for when he triggered the stoplights and a bunch of cars randomly generated for the event.
That intersection in particular is pretty busy all of the time, those are some of the most major roads in the loop; lake and state, just a block over from wacker drive
offtopic, but it bothers the hell out of me that chicago's landmarks are corncob buildings, donald trump tower, the Hancock, [del]the Sears building[/del] "Willis Tower" aka "BIG WILLIE", and for a while we had that 30+ foot tall marilyn monroe with her ass pointed at the crowd of tourists
I wonder how much of town they kept (already saw the cobs), and how much was altered/crunched down. I'd get the game just to explore and revel in the details
I wonder how many console gamers will be dissapointed the console version will look nothing like that gameplay.

And because the cars were scripted to appear and crash in a certain fashion, normal traffic would have interfered with it. I hopefully assume it's going to look different in the version they're aiming for.
this does look cool
I actually got pissed off when that woman was shot in the gameplay. The guy was freaking out, there was blood all over the windshield and everything. Fucking horrible.
Sadly it's Ubisoft.

A free roam game with these graphics... sold.

Shame their publishing department always messes it up somehow tho.

I'm not a sports fan, so does anyone know if that logo on his cap is referring to an actual baseball team or something, or whether it could be for one of the ingame factions? I mean it could just be a random logo, but from what I can tell that's a triangle with two lines starting from two of the tips and going through the center of the opposing line. Maybe fancy geometry is linked to math and hackers? The "official" hacker logo looks like this, right?
This looks really, really, really fucking cool. I feel as though if I start talking about it to friends and nerding out about it I'll be disappointed as I'm going to have to wait a long freaking time...
I honestly think if a company wants to be ultra successful with games coming out they shouldn't build up a bunch of tension then piss around with it for eight months or so... I mean, look a future soldier; Announced in what, 2009? Releasing tons of gameplay in around 2009 then going silent until release, I mean it completely lost a lot of peoples attention that way.. If your going to announce a game and release a gameplay trailer, have it be two to three months before release, then everyone knows about it, and they are still stoked for it.
Supreme level of theorycrafting here.
But I think the "Yes we are releasing it on 360 & PS3" stuff is true , but the "Waiting until 2013 at least" is all about waiting for new consoles to be announced/shipped so they can go "aaaand we're shipping next gen version that looks as good as pc" and the 360/PS3 versions will be like what Just Cause on PS2 was to it's big brother versions on newer consoles/PC. :P
Everytime I hear something about Watch Dogs, the words, "GOTY" are growing brighter and brighter.
Ubisoft better not fuck it up. Looks amazing and will hopefully spark an growth in new IPs emerging.
Only thing i didnt like was how it devolved into a standard 3rd person shooter with cover system once the cars crashed. No point to even crashing them if they just do that.

Do you have another suggestion on how to incorporate gun play into this game?
