PSA: Major Bug going around when if you die while being invaded (before the invader's hack turns to 100%), your story mode will be absolutely fucking and there's nothing you can do about it. Happening to people on Consoles, not sure about PC
Look's like i'll have to play with the online stuff off just so i don't lose any progress. I ended up buying Watch Dogs on a wildcard, i've paid next to no attention to it so i'm rather neutral to it, although the shouting and screaming of the game is very noticable. The special edition looks like a rip off though, what is it, £10 for a mission and a perk? One mission? Is that really what the Breakthrough pack contains? Yeah, i'm not falling for that.
Cyberpunk looks p. Fucking swagger.

I seriously, seriously, seriously an industry crash can happen, now when the industry is so big compaired to the days of the 2600. Just can't see it happening. At most, us core gamers will have to rely more on indies and small developers and less on the bigger ones. But even that has it's risks.
You can turn off the option to be invaded in the menu. Wait, so does the current-gen consoles ONLY have 4 online game modes? I've been hearing about Deathmatch, Free-Roam, Decryption Mode, all this shit, and all we have is Online Tailing/Hacking, and Racing on the PS3/X360. This is bullshit.
Does anyone else's game sound really quiet?
Does anyone else's game sound really quiet?
I forgot about that, yes my sounds are maxed up everywhere and I barely hear anything. The dialogues might as well be whispers
I forgot about that, yes my sounds are maxed up everywhere and I barely hear anything. The dialogues might as well be whispers
Right!? Glad to know its not just me though. Its kind of a shame because some of the subtler sound effects cant really be heard unless your blowing out your ear drums.
the diploma course im doing at the moment actually required me to watch an hour long interview they had with nolan bushnell, i'd love to link the part about the crash but its over an hour long and i cant be fucked finding that bit
I'd honestly think that the game industry would be worse off if it started from "zero" again. I'm curious on the interview with Nolan Bushnell though.
Just played a round of Decryption, IT WOULD BE FUN AS HELL IF NOT FOR THE STUTTERING WHILE DRIVING. Also what is with games with open microphones and people who feel like they need to shove their mics up their asses
So I´ve been reading this topic and watching videos like this: Don't get me wrong, it's an enjoyable game, but I had every right to see that WatchDogs didn't deliver on it's next-gen promises. Yet, I was dumbrated, and have been 'attacked' (for a lack of a better word) ad hominem. The fanboys on Facepunch are so funny and predictable. Why is it so hard to have an objective discussion about something you're a fan of [editline]28th May 2014[/editline] There's 10 DLC Launch packages, but no way to turn off mouse smoothing in the UI, there's millions of glitches and bugs like shown in the video above... multiplayer is completely inaccessible. And yet people paid at least $50 for it, depending on location and platform. Ridiculous. If this keeps going on, a second videogame crash is coming.
It's not your opinion, it's how rude you are when people disagree with you. [editline]28th May 2014[/editline] Also what did you expect launch week? No bugs across every system configuration ever, no network instability.
The North American videogame crash was caused by the horribly low quality that games of that time had. Everyone could develop without license, and everything was done to make a quick buck. It's not just warner brothers. It's just an example, but this was a widespread problem. That's what caused the videogame crash. And the same shit is happening again now. Broken games being shipped, unfinished games being shipped, a shit load of paid DLC. I'm predicting, it'll happen again. It's a matter of time until the public gets fed up with this shit again.
Get it right nerd; the crash wasn't caused by bad games, it was caused by the lack of quality control letting the flood of bad games get through. (Hence, Nintendo's later "seal of approval") Also, no crash is going to happen. - Core PC gamers are such a small part of the market nobody with major multi-plat titles cares if they're upset. Bad ports are cheap, and people tolerate them. (or pull a Durante and fix them for free.) - DLC makes a rediculous amount of money, despite the constant complaining. ~20% of core gamers pay for dlc, while less than ~1% of f2p gamers pay consistently. - Broken games can be patched (unless it's BF4)
Talk to you again, when the videogame market crashes in 3-5 years.
I'm almost certain it's not going to happen, especially not in 3-5 years. The industry is a hell of a lot more stable than it ever was back then, you worry too much.
Talk to you again, when the videogame market crashes in 3-5 years.

You are literally too dumb to have this conversation with.
Yeah, what you said.
I'm almost certain it's not going to happen, especially not in 3-5 years. The industry is a hell of a lot more stable than it ever was back then, you worry too much.
As somebody that works in financial analysis/market research for the industry, can confirm.
You are literally too dumb to have this conversation with. I tried. I even said you didn't have to agree, just acknowledge that you get where Im coming from, and again you just presume to know exactly what I mean and think, and generalize me as a "publishers are evil" guy. Sure I know nothing about business. I'll tell my 8 employees that. Talk to you again, when the videogame market crashes in 3-5 years.
Execute shutthefuckup.exe Initializing...
no guys you dont understand i didnt enjoy this game so every game from now on will suck and make the industry die
It's not a next gen experience because the graphics are a little less pretty when originally shown off when the game was in prototype and not the final representation of the product. Have you ever considered they tuned it down a bit so more players can run it. Talking to Profane obviously.
What is there to do in free roam? All i'm seeing is Cash runs and NVZN.
You guys still don't get that what I'm saying is: Developers and publishers promise A, then deliver B+. That's dishonest. I do enjoy Watch Dogs, I never said I didn't. I'm just saying this is just the 1000th game of this and the 'last' generation that doesn't deliver on promises and there's been a shift where profits come before any and all other aspects. That's what pisses me off. It's an insult to make us pay for things that aren't delivered, or asking more money than the initial $50 to have the features promised. it's not that hard. If you guys don't agree, or don't get it, that's fine. I'll just go back to talking to my friends who do know what I"m talking about, or the other 50% of the internet that does also get what I'm talking about. You can act like I'm completely stupid, I don't care, but my sentiment is shared amongst many people.
It's not a next gen experience because the graphics are a little less pretty when originally shown off when the game was in prototype and not the final representation of the product. That's why the settings "Medium" and "High" and "Ultra" exist. There's no reason they couldn't include the graphics shown off in the E3 demo, and have them under the highest graphical setting, still available.
Does one of the apartment eavesdrop people commit suicide because she is fat?
but you act like a B+ is a failing grade
Not my intention at least. B+ is still B+. As I said, I do enjoy Watch Dogs. But I feel like promising something in marketing, and then not delivering is wrong. I have a company too, we promise to save 30% on leasecontracts. If I were to deliver 10% on average, then my 30% promise would be false, and wrong too. I promise what I deliver, and I expect the videogame industry to do the same. Just like any other industry, or person for that matter.
There's no reason they couldn't include the graphics shown off in the E3 demo, and have them under the highest graphical setting, still available.
How do you know, where you part of the dev team? How do you know what technical obstacles prevented them from doing so? You're bitching about how it's dishonest yet everything at E3 2012 clearly states *Is not a represent final product*, recent media was on point, and the game still looks AMAZING.
How do you know, where you part of the dev team? [editline]28th May 2014[/editline]
his dad is nintendo so he gets all the industry news
You guys are seriously children. Cya.
wow, didn't think this argument would exceed a page or two. I still don't even know what you guys are arguing about.
If there were technical difficulties, that's fine, but then don't show it off in prerelease footage???
Have you forgotten about the 10+ trailers that were released before the game came out depicting exactly what we have today? Also, he clearly meant that there could have been complications after the footage, not before. Silly.

The city is beautiful and alive, filled with the right amount of people, cars, activities, and beautiful representations of Chicago. Saying this isn't a next gen game is dumb. Please enlighten me, how am I a child? Being a rude jackass doesn't make you win when you're on a losing side of a debate.
Online tailing is a lot worse than I was hoping. It's literally impossible to stay hidden while trying to chase someone down in a car, because you can't drive slowly like an NPC because your car has some kind of weird jerking motion every time you hit the gas, and other players always just drive like a maniac anyway so you can't catch up to them without giving away your position. Also, I CAN'T FIND ANY FUCKING MATCHES.
