am i the only one that actually felt kind of sad when the guy's wife died and he was freaking out after the traffic lights got shut off?
Oh and one last thing: The game is cross-platform, you can see your friends who is playing from a 360 while you are playing on a PC
It's already been done before.
The usual problem is just that PC has better controls and outperforms consoles hugely.

Yeah, but it's a TPS, so movement is as important as aim. So both platforms will have an advantage, just not on the same field.
It's also not a cowadooty game, so fast react times aren't that important as much as being 1 step ahead.
I'd hazard a guess that knowing what to do and when to do it and preparing to do something else as well is better than a good aim.
you dont say
I was obviously responding to the previous post.
does anyone have any more information on it being cross platform than just wild rumours
It hasn't been confirmed to cross platform with PC & PS3 or PS3 to XBOX360 etc. just cross platform ing with the tablet and whatever platform you have.
i bet that being a good shot will be extremely useful.
it has to be for it to be mainstream and some hope of a giant community so more people buy the game.
if ubi is smart they'll make being a good shot just as useful as being a thinker. and have loadouts accordingly, possibly even gamemodes like thugs vs hackers, and only like one hacker has a gun.

i mean multiplayer wise.

What if it would be possible to shoot a phone, from a hacker's hands? He has nothing else to rely on, unless someone is actively monitoring him and can protect him somehow.

you realize you just made another really great way this could work.
teamwork would be rewarded to encourage it as well. if one of your hacker buds gets compromised in any way and you assist them you'll be rewarded based on how much you assist them. like if they're really fucked, unarmed, outnumbered and they're for sure completely and totally proper fucked and you save them and then hijack a car and drive them back to a safehouse you'll get shitloads of points towards active upgrades and shit like in CoD or Max Payne 3.
also i mentioned safehouse above. that's another thing that would make this game mode work. all around the multiplayer area, which would probably be the entire city so if it's a big map lots of safehouses for both teams, there would be safehouses scattered about.
basically at the safehouse you can change your equipment, buy things, heal, change "class" or whatever. basically a point the enemy doesn't know about that's guarded clandestinely where you can get all your shit together.
and if you die during a game you're out till the next round. and these rounds probably could last for fuckin hours.
thing is though the multiplayer probably wouldn't be really different like chaos theory multiplayer in that members of both opposing teams have the same movement, controls and everything, just their gadgets differ. in that it would also be like chaos theory but they just get different guns and gadgets, not completely different viewpoints and controls.
like the hackers would have compact weapons but powerful hacking tools. the goons would have big guns and offensive upgrades and tracing devices/countermeasures and shit.
[editline]20th June 2012[/editline]
and the hackers shouldn't get defensive upgrades. they should be relatively easy to kill in a one on one.
the fuckin goons could come out with flak jackets, helmets, all sorts of different kevlar plates and shit.
would make them harder to kill. so instead of using your mp7 you might just use that to piss him off and distract him while you make 50 cars come at him from the left
If they make some smartphone/tablet app. They better not cock up and release only on iPad. I mean it's "cool" and all, but come on.
Holy shit that was the highlight of the entire E3 right there.
So fucking excited for this game goddamn.
Too bad that with the almost complete absence of games in E3 being the highlight of it isn't that hard.
The game looks pretty amazing though
This game will be a win. There is no other way around, the future of gaming is finally here.
I've just been imagining multiplayer, my fucking god.
You're driving on your way to a mission start, JUST traveling through a green light and suddenly you're rammed from the side because one of your asshole friends hacked the traffic lights. The potential for dicking around is also endless.
Good Lord, those features, multiplayer will be the hypest shit ever.

Let's just hope they make it for PC first, then port it to the XBOX 360 and PS3, not reverse.

Let's just hope they release all 3 at the same goddamn time so that everybody wins, huh?

Bad reading
He means ports it from the pc in development.
Let's just hope they make it for PC first, then port it to the XBOX 360 and PS3, not reverse.
It doesn't work like that.
looks pretty damn awesome. I can't wait to see more
Damn, the street looks so active and like there is actually live instead of 6-7 people walking on the sidewalks
It doesn't work like that.
Then please do explain how working on creating the best PC experience then focusing on making it work on the Xbox is wrong.
Don't just say "doesn't work like that!" and not bothering explaining why. Make me learn something about the process.
I hope the Smartglass will make its way to the PC like Kinect.
I was thinking also about how supposedly every house, building, etc. you can enter. That seems like possibly the most ambitious thing ever, but imagine if there actually is a "spy vs. spy" or "predator vs. prey" game. You could hide in any house in any of Chicago's districts and either hack away at them or just hide and wait it out while the other person attempts to pin-point you.
It would be a near infinite game of cat and mouse.

I think the most exciting aspect is when you are seen or discovered, how you are going to return to being anonymous.
Like cutting cameras (or hacking back), new clothing, hiding in houses, etc etc.. Damn this is going to be good..
I just wonder if it's as simple as hacking into one camera system and you get the ability to instantly find the other player, or perhaps you're presented with all the cameras across Chicago and you have to isolate which camera is pointing at the other player.

Yep, having the Assassin's Creed guys on board is a real plus for this game.
UbiSoft has great devs, but sadly they're overshadowed by EvilCorp publishing decisions like franchise-ruining-sequelitis or honest-customer-hurting DRM.
