Yes, while I'm driving down the road at top speed trying to avoid Fixers, the first thing I want to do in order to blow up a steam vent is to stop everything and do a 30s minigame that totally breaks the flow of the game.
Besides, it can totally be explained that you have already bugged the entire system (hence needing to compromise ctOS centers, as your hacking ability in a district is gimped before you do so). At that point, it could actually could explain the "press X to hack" trope, as your phone acts more as a remote control, and its made perfectly clear that ctOS controls everything.
i have an addiction, help

I killed a bunch of cops at that construction site to see what it would be like to have the menace rating. After they forgot I existed, I went to a fastfood place to recharge my focus, as I was leaving I saw a woman pass by and exclaim "It's him, it's the vigilante!", and then she ran away screaming. I feel bad now.
how exactly would have they put in hacking if not a single button
Every time you have to hack a light switch it boots Uplink.
hacking sucks why couldnt they have made it so you had to fully type out a c++ program with a visual basic gui and then debugged for 3 days? god so fucking casual
crypto's two cents on watch dogs gameplay when you think of it as less of a game and more of a controllable techno thriller film it makes a lot more sense -your car is invincible cause it isn't fun to see the protagonist swapping cars every 5 seconds cause he's hitting shit -hacking things is easy cause it's a movie and movies don't care
I don't know what else there would be to expect from it to be honest. isn't that what "hacking" is? finding exploits, and of course, exploiting them? planting backdoors? reverse engineering software? no one does that on the fly, and it seems reasonable enough for me that Aiden has made an app that communicates with devices around him using the exploits he knows of.

[editline]oh hamburgers[/editline] I am too tired and can't think how to words. I'll try again in 12 hours.
There is an achievement "Get Tailed". You have to be TAILED 5 times. Good thing that in around 4 days IRL I have been invaded twice... TWICE !!! Once, it was some guy following me on a bike, 10 meters behind me. Second time it was a Hollywood Stuntman, driving a porsche-alike at full speed, bouncing off a firetruck, flying through air and hitting my car on top. Yea, good luck for me to try and complete it :( I've been sitting sometimes for 20 minutes with bounty on me and none ever invaded during that time. (Yes, I was cheap and sitting in the paused menu, waiting for the background to start moving, as invading others is just pointless now for me = +50/-250). Another thing I have discovered during that process. Borderless mode is AWFUL for performance in WD. Same location: Borderless Window = 20 fps. Full Screen = 50 fps.
I think it's pretty lame you can't keep any notoriety points if you have online invasions disabled. I was doing the CTos versus mode with a friend, I won twice and got 200 points. Then I restarted my game because memory leaks were starting to get too intense. When I got back in, it showed that I had no notoriety points. It really is kinda unfair. I'm still participating in multiplayer so I deserve some of those notoriety skills, I just want to opt out of being invaded while I'm busy strolling the streets at my leisure. That sort of thing doesn't suit me.
At least you can join multiplayer. I've got that dumb NAT type message and I can't edit any settings on my modem, so I played multiplayer for about a day, got to 2700 notoriety, and can't play anymore.

My friend is having so much trouble playing any online mode, it's amazing that he can even use the app. Most of the time we play it, near either the very beginning, or close to the very end, he loses connection from me. I think a lot of the problems are on Ubisoft's end.
I remember my final moments of being able to play Watch.Dogs multiplayer like it was only a few days ago. I got so high in hacking rank so early on that I would only get 50 points for each successful hack.

It starts at around 3k Notoriety. I've reached 5k and it was just pointless trying to gain more. If I win I get 50 points and I can lose up to 250. Because people already figured out that pause menu isn't paused when someone invades you or focus doesn't slow game anymore when someone is in your game... yea, good luck.
Ive played this game for almost 20 hours and still havent finished Act I. Im so slow.
I feel bad for the last few hackers i've ran into. All of them i've either spotted right away because I ran around the corner before they could hide, or I saw them trying to hide in a car from far away and I use a pistol to 1 shot them. :v:
Has anyone found a proper fix to the stupid mouse acceleration yet? I did the fix where you turn smoothing and stuff to 0 in the config file but its still a pain in the ass to aim...
It's sad how the game visually breaks down when you switch LOD(Level of detail) from high to medium start to see floating buildings and shit
I just saw a guy who had "Disowned Lesbian Daughter" as his fact. Fuck that morality system, that fucker is dead.
Your moral compass is a bit off, mate.
the morality system is a bit silly ive been a menace since day 1, and from what i hear there is no real benefit to being a full on vigilante
the morality system is a bit silly ive been a menace since day 1, and from what i hear there is no real benefit to being a full on vigilante
Sure there is. Makes it easier to feel like Batman.
Every time you have to hack a light switch it boots Uplink.
Aiden would have been much better off if he had known that Trust is a Weakness.
Aiden's just a script kiddie, using pre-baked exploits from his phone, and calling badboy17 whenever he needs anything more serious.

After fixing the NAT type issue, I tried hacking (and got hacked once). I had some great fun. First hack happened in the Pawnee district. The guy was on those offroad areas where no NPCs nor traffic exists. The person I was hacking saw my car and started searching for me, before I could initiate the hack. It ended up in me killing him/her with the 417 rifle. Second online hacking experience was me getting hacked in that god damn Pawnee district. Since Pawnee has so many trees and such, it was hard for me to spot the hacker. I was running around like a dumbass, trying to find the hacker desperately, with no avail. He/she hacked me and it turns out, he/she was hidden behind a house and some trees. Third online hacking experience was loads of fun. It was the best one out of these three. I spawn in a sports car, a bit behind the target. I act as an NPC driver and drive up behind him, since this person was obeying the traffic rules and waited at a red light. He drives of and so do I, but I park my car when I'm out of the target's view. I hide in a fire truck and initiate the hack. The target is running around in panic, profiling every NPC on the street and he doing so until my hack reaches maybe 95%. He profiles me and I start my fire truck. The dumbass is standing in front of it so I run him over and he falls down. He gets in a car and starts following me but I actually manage to escape, in a fucking fire truck, without using any hacks that might slow him down. Either the fire truck is OP, or the target sucks at driving, and cannot keep up with a fire truck.
Damn, whenever I drive a car I drive pretty fast into unloaded(?) areas, and my FPS just tanks so hard. Makes it difficult during chasing and stuff. Anybody here got any clue on how to fix it a bit? Or is this game just badly optimised.
Damn, the part in act 2 where you rescue [sp]jacks and he watches you kill everyone and thinks you are a monster[/sp] One of the only times i've silently killed everyone with headshots.
