Was in mumble as the gameplay was happening and said the exact traffic light sequence. A minute later and theres the biggest grin on my face.
Really looking forward to this.
Yeah, during the footage at E3, the camera zoomed out and locked onto a second player, watching from a rooftop while Pierce drove away.
Ah ok, has this part of the stream been posted to youtube? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Can anyone explain to me why so many people are saying that this game is multiplayer? I keep hearing talk about the camera in a the demo panning out and showing another player, was this in the E3 demo or something? Or was it the trailer they released?
I think it isn't multiplayer. The camera panned to another character, but it looked like he was part of the hacker group that the first person was in. People probably thought it was multiplayer because the name above the person was an alias, and not an actual name.
Ah ok, has this part of the stream been posted to youtube? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Not that I know of, I'm afraid. It's not exactly much anyway, just 5 seconds of a man running along a rooftop with some alias over his head.
This is in Chicago? No wonder it looks so familiar. It seems they've recreated it very faithfully. I immediately recognized the exact L station when it came on. The city looks so alive, with people talking and walking around and the guy helping at the car crash. And I love how little shooty action there was in the trailer. Overall this looks pretty incredible.

Thanks man
Grand Theft Auto: Human Revolution.
I really do hope Ubisoft pulls a Rayman Origins with this in terms of DRM.
:v:
It really looks amazing, but whenever I see it I can't help but think of that scene from Hackers.
Here's the clip, embedding's disabled so enjoy a link:

Hack the Planet!
I hope Ubisoft doesn't screw it up, the game has a lot of potential.
Or maybe I only think this because the whole E3 (except this) was a huge fail until now.
Interesting... while the youtube trailer in the OP shows him driving away, the GT trailer zooms out to some other guy, possibly to show off some kind of crazy pseudo-multiplayer mode.
I wonder if the car crash was scripted.
I'd imagine nearly everything was scripted like most of these E3 demos tend to be. Game looks great though.

We've been over the fact that it's a multiplayer game MULTIPLE TIMES ALREADY
IN SEVERAL THREADS
Better be on PC.
But I'll keep my cool, there's very little concrete info on the game yet. Don't get hyped over nothing.
Confirmed yay

That notification that pops up on his screen just before it zooms out to the other player (something about an intrusion) reminds me of the Dark Souls invasion system, where the game is single player at its core but other completely random players will join into your single player games world and effect it in some way. Is that what you mean by pseudo?
I wonder if the car crash was scripted.
i bet the crash itself was scripted, but maybe you could take him out in other ways as well
Power mysteriously went out as I was reading this thread. :v:
I hope that's not scripted, I want to be able to jam communications as people are crossing the street and then mess with the lights :v:
Literal ravebreak as you turn all the lights on and off constantly.
I wonder if the car crash was scripted.
It was most likely. Peds responded to the victims in the crash and such. But if you don't do some scripting then level design just gets stuck into randomly placed NPCs.
There's probably other ways to take him out.

I'm sure you'll be able to do that, but those specific events in the demo were scripted.

When the manipulate lights thing came on and he had his pistol out, I though he was going to make the car stop and shoot him in the car and run
It would be awesome if it's non-linear and truly allows you to "control everything".
So what exactly is the story? I guess i didnt pay enough attention.

Watch the introduction trailer.
Oh i missed that. All i saw was the gameplay. Im sorry.
I dunno why, but I want to think that, early on, the options of hacking and such are relatively open-ended, but as you progress through the game, hacking becomes more difficult or your options become limited as local authorities and the likely enemies of the protagonist(s) begin to create counter-measures or even back-hack you. Probably even circumstances of fake identities and information.
It'd be disappointing if the protagonist had full control over nearly everything, after all, in a 'possibly too easy' kind of way. :v:
"I'm going to find you, and expose you to the world"
By shooting your target in the face.
