I doubt it'll run properly on my computer, but I'll at least try it on lower graphics settings.

To be fair, season passes are, for the most part, not consumer-friendly. You're paying upfront for something that isn't even finished yet and might not be for a long time, while not knowing if the quality is actually worth the price.

If you pay more, you get extra content Why is this such a dealbreaker to everyone If you want the content, pay more They could give it for free but that's not good business More often than not this stuff cant be included in the final product due to numerous constraints, mainly time
Honestly, the distinction between DLC and classic expansions is largely arbitrary. We've had this kind of thing for ages now, it just more easily delivered these days.

I'm not saying it's justified to blame the industry in a "What? You're producing additional content and DARE to ask for money?" fashion, but with the whole on-disc DLC and horse armor crap I understand it's hard to regain the trust of your customers. However, people should also wait for actual facts regarding the DLC before grabbing their pitchforks. As you said, DLCs are, for the most part, replacing the old expansion packs. And there's usually nothing wrong with more content for the game you enjoyed. All you need to do is wait for reviews and don't get that bloody season pass. Seriously, don't buy season passes unless the contained DLC is already released and you know what you're getting yourself into.

It is a deal breaker. A large one.
Are we really still stuck in the "All DLC is bad" phase? Once the game is released, make content that is expansive and adds to the main story, or a branch off of it. Then sell it as an expansion, or 'DLC'. A season pass is just money grabbing because people will buy into it. Most people aren't that blind though, so they find accessible ways of going around it. Ubisoft wonders why there is a lot of piracy on their games? There are plenty of reasons that I could name off the top of my head.

Hopefully this will clear something up TL; DW: Day 1 DLC is what the dev teams do when the game is finished but they still have time before release. The option the team has is to leave the game how it is and sell it as is or spend that extra time building more content into the game. Since the game is completed without the DLC there is no incentive for devs to keep working on a game without some profitability. All in all the choice is between day 1 DLC or simply not having any form of DLC at all since it would never get made as the devs are transferred to other projects instead of continuing to work on their project. [editline]9th April 2014[/editline] In other words, slapping additional content on for free is great! If you want to lose money
If you want to lose money
Pros for releasing game with 'added DLC': -Game comes with extra content -People are grateful -People buy the game -People look forward to buying more DLC down the line if it's expansive and worth their money Cons for not releasing game with 'added DLC': -Lose out on sales -Piracy seems like the pros outweigh the cons.

A large portion of the development staff has likely been done with their allocated tasks on the base game for months. Do you seriously expect those resources to go un-utilized!?
The thing is valve for instance have been showing up the entire industry for half a decade by releasing their major updates for free and still making huge profits
The thing is valve for instance have been showing up the entire industry for half a decade by releasing their major updates for free and still making huge profits
Other companies don't make money from selling their competitor's games for a 30% cut either.
it kinda pisses me off that they're going to have day one DLC for the "deluxe edition" thats 70. what a load of horse shit.
I am not preordering this as promising as it looks, I've been burned too many times in the past a fool and his money are quickly parted and all that, I'm done with it
it kinda pisses me off that they're going to have day one DLC for the "deluxe edition" thats 70. what a load of horse shit.
The ridiculous amount of DLC for Triple As in general is absolutely disgusting.

... I need a new graphics card :v:
Well that doesn't look like "watered down shit", does it?
The game looks great - as expected - by sane people.
Ah, there you go... PC footage. Still looks beautiful just like the E3 2012 one.
Goddamn... So should I buy a 760 or wait for an 860 to come out?
Theeere we go. Thank you Ubisoft. My boner is now full mast once again. Is it May yet?
Some people still think it's downgraded since E3 2012 lol.
Well shit, that looks great!
THE ONE TIME I GET AN AMD GRAPHICS CARD. ah fooey.
Watch Dogs - Control Everything Except Your Wallet
Well there you have it people who thought I was full of shit when I said I played the PC build several times and said it looked just as good as every other PC demo shown off.
