Looks a lot more like They Live than zombies
Also, alongside the season pass, you can pre-order WD on the UK steam store now, yay!

God damn! it got my 780 two days ago! :(
Edit:
Oh well already had it preordered on Steam, still would be nice to give away to a friend.
£40 for the base game? Think I'll pass for a while
i have NOTHING to do for the 3 weeks between my spring and summer semester classes and of course watch dogs has to come out the day my summer semester starts
just pre-ordered the digital deluxe, thank you paycheck
i'll get the season pass when the game comes out
£40 for the base game? Think I'll pass for a while
I'm waiting a while just in case the game doesn't turn out to be as good as I hope. I usually only pre-order/buy on launch if I really really want the game, GTA for example. I think I'll get this towards the end of the year.
Why does the release date say November? in OP?
Why does the release date say November? in OP?
It was November 2013 before the delay. OP should update it
Oh, that's good to hear, I thought it was 2014.

I insist on some sort of rap battle.
Anyone find a good place deluxe edition is being sold for cheap?
I know GMG has $10 cash back or $14 store credit which brings it down to 56-60, which is good, but I'm still hoping somewhere for cheaper.

I'm still using my old HD 5870. I'm really, really tempted to get a 770 now.
Someone on /v/ got a testing copy of watch_dogs last night (the version w/ the "downgraded graphics" and removed story modes: it's sandbox and MP)
There's no radio, but you'll be able to create a custom playlist with both songs in the game (it's pretty underground stuff like the soundtrack in Crackdown) and your own songs, as well as hacking speakers to play the songs
Car-on demand summons a car to your nearest location
He stated that the game is pretty challenging when in a shoot out, but says that overall the game gets boring. He did get some laughs from the profiler combinations such as "Blood donor, has HIV" and "40, loves anime, unemployed"
Do bear in mind however that he was playing the free-roam for 8 hours. I'm assuming that the story will make it a lot less boring.

I imagine any open-world game would get boring from just 8 hours of nothing but the free-roam.

Yeah. Even with all the activities, I can barely get half an hour on GTA V nowadays (My longest session was about 4 hours). I think Saints Row 2 and Sleeping Dogs have been the only two games that kept me intrigued for long enough even when I wasn't playing the story- about an hour and a half per session.

Well, it's a good thing I'm upgrading to a 780 ti
Big world, nothing to do in it.
Exactly this
That's my main concern about watch_dogs. You can have the coolest game world ever but if it's not engaging and/or leaves nothing for you to do then it's useless to have
that's the biggest fault of mafia 2. the game world is SO well done but there are no side objectives or anything. the only thing you can literally do is the main story, so half of the game world goes completely unexplored

The problem with mafia 2 was that the entire open world was treated as just a set piece; the game actively discouraged you from exploring if I recall correctly. From what I've read that doesn't seem to be an issue with watch dogs.

iirc the devs said they focussed on density rather than size, so there's something to do in almost every part of the map, rather than have it spread out over a much larger area
Has anybody that pre-ordered this on uPlay had it appear in their games list yet?
iirc the devs said they focussed on density rather than size, so there's something to do in almost every part of the map, rather than have it spread out over a much larger area
That's actually one of the reasons the game was delayed, when play testers were given the game they all went to the same area as there was just nothing to do else where. So they used the recent months to just fill the city with content.
Hopefully they managed to get the police state or "big brother is watching you" feeling right. With the whole NSA surveillance scandal happening that in reality affects us all, it would be a real shame if they wouldn't take this chance to show how our governments are treating us.

didn't the devs also say that when they started development about 4 years ago, they thought that the prospect of a government/system constantly watching you was quite futuristic, but then the NSA scandal/increased surveillance in cities made it seem more believable?
Big world, nothing to do in it.
While there's not exactly a whole lot of side missions and what, discounting the fuckton of military bases I suppose, there is an insane amount of fuck around potential in that game.
