That momentous day is finally here for Ubisoft and Watch Dogs, as the game has gone gold
Oh for....

Does this have co-op or atleast mission based coop modes? all I can find is the 'find the hacker/CTF' type MP or that shitty Coop tablet thing.
Also I read someone in the thread posted about 8 player freeroam, any info on that?

It doesn't have co-op as far as I know, but it has those invasions and some multiplayer gamemodes, one of which being freeroam
I hope with the freeroam you can do everything you can in SP but without the missions at least. Would be fun to have a group of friends talk civs and steal their cash or have car chases it multiple vehicles and use the hacks to fuck up the cops or your friends so they get arrested / killed.
That's exactly what it is.
With even less SP stuff though, just multiplayer ~ with the hacking the things stuff.
Edit:
Also a new TV spot.

slightly off topic, but do you guys have any good experience with ubisoft support? I activated my voucher copy of Watch Dogs that I got from new GPU purchase on the wrong account. I wrote a support ticket to them but not sure what to expect. hopefully they'll move it over to my account with actual games

I had a similar problem. They couldn't move the game, but they did merge my accounts which was even better for me.

Just found this image of the beta.
Omar's coming yo
So, only a few days left now...
What's the first thing you're going to do in-game?
Walk around and hopefully find a way to subtly fuck with NPCs
I find being a dick to NPCs oddly entertaining, no matter what game I'm playing
Check out some hacking stuff I can do

Cruise around with the in-car view.
I heard that Free roam multiplayer and decryption combat will only be available on next gen and pc. Is that true?
If yes, why?

You mean a few weeks.

The mandatory tutorial.
Here's for hoping you can turn off invasions in SP. I don't need a bunch of dicks butting in when I'm trying to go to a mission or fuck around. If I wanted that, I'd play dark souls or multiplayer.
You can

I think they said you could turn it off and on when they announced that they had that kind of multiplayer interaction.
EDIT:
I'm too slow. :(
Thank god, I mean, it's a great idea and will be fun, but it's more of a thing I'd rather actively partake in than randomly encounter.
You mean a few weeks.
It's one week, it'll be over before you know it.
I think invasions will be fun as fuck. Totally keeping that on. Will make it so the game actually takes better advantage of the open-ended nature of an open world game instead of doing what games like GTA do - just linear missions in an overworld with the occasional goofing off.
I'm gonna get to a point in the story where I feel like its safe to take a break narratively and then mess around/do stuff on my own for a bit, hopefully that happens as soon as possible.
My biggest issue with open world games is that they often drag you through a linear story mode that is really urgent and dramatic, and/or while giving the playing absolutely no reason to do anything in the open world stage, which means it makes the most narrative sense to just only do the narrative all the way through. I'm not the kind of player that can just go "eh, I'll go fuck around, do mini games, craft shit etc and leave this SUPER URGENT SEE YOU AT SUNDOWN story mission for later". Doing so really takes me out of the game and makes it feel really game-y. And then to make it worse the developers make it so almost all the progression, content, gameplay, etc is behind these story missions. So if you choose not to do them, your options are just to dick around with random bullshit.
I love that Watch Dogs seems to give players things to do that aren't just fluff but aren't story missions either. Digital Trips, courier jobs, invasions, etc. And some fluff too if you just want to kill time after work. I just hope the story mode is paced in such a way that you don't need to do it to have a good time, and that there are break/slow periods that encourage you to explore the world and have fun in it. I don't want it so dicking around in the world just feels like I'm betraying the linear plot or setting that I'm being told I should focus on instead, and all the characters in the story mode don't seem to mind I took a week to meet some guy at sundown. Sure, have moments in the story mode that are intense that encourage me to actually focus on the story mode one after another, but also have moments where the opposite is happening.
Its one of the reasons why Morrowind is one of my favorite open world games. No other game I can think of has done the open world meta-design better than it. Sure the gameplay is archiac and old, sure the writing isn't mind blowing (but its not bad!), but how the questlines were paced was perfection for an open world game. You start out on a totally clean slate with vague instructions on what to do, but you could technically just fuck around and do your own thing right from the get go and not have it go against the narrative at all. If you pursue the story, its starts of slow letting you get into a "world building" state before it really amps things up. Several times during the story mode, especially early on, the Agent you talk to will tell you he needs some time and you need more experience, so you should just join a guild or get more XP before getting things rolling. This is EXCELLENT as it gives you a great narative excuse to actually soak in the world and take advantage of all the game has to offer before continuing the quest. Guilds will also do this - you get to a point where the guild master straight up says "Well, you've done a lot of great work and questing and missions and such for us, but you'll need more experience before we can increase your rank".
The narrative was designed with break periods from the story to encourage you experience the world, get involved with different quests/NPCs/narratives, explore, etc. instead of trying to rush it through the whole story mode till the end of the game.
Its something I've never really seen any other story-based open world game do, and why I generally find them boring a lot of the time. GTAIV I couldn't play beyond getting the 2nd apartment because I was so bored at that point. The only thing really to do was constantly do story missions, the entire open world was kind of purposeless unless you wanted to just waste time against the narrative that was begging you to keep doing it. I want an open world game that tells me "FFS you've already done a shit ton for us in the last two days, take a break we've got nothing for you till next week" and then give the player plenty of meaningful things to do, craft, etc in the open world that don't relate to the main story.
[/tangent]
I hope you can invade friends game without need to find contract on him

No, actually it's more like 2 weeks.
I just hope Free Roam on PC doesn't have the shitty FPS that they showed.
The hacking shit looks really cool and all. But I hope there's more interaction involved than that.

After getting the hang of the controls, I'll probably look for some sick police battles. Maybe even a be a bit of a homicidal maniac, and kill civilians.

Recreate the Chicago experience by walking five steps then getting stabbed.
