Beyond, Last of Us and Watch Dogs are pretty similar
Youngish protagonist in a TPS with heavy focus on story and cinematic experience (I assume that's what Beyond is going to be too)
Looks like they're finally dropping the whole soldier/military stuff huh?
I wonder how much work have they put into little things like conversations on the street or the variety of pedestrian models.

Sony and the devs that work for the PS3 are at least. Xbox will have it run into the ground and beaten to death.

Gruff 20-something male Caucasians (especially Americans) are about as cookie-cutter as you get on the Western market tho. Doesn't apply to Beyond: Two Souls, but Mysterious Waif is a common trope, too.
Still saw plenty of military shooters on E3, but maybe that's just me.

Instead we get interactive movies.
Probably scripted, I'm guessing a lot of stuff is. Holding my judgement on the level of depth and control until we get more information/gameplay.
If it's all free world, I'm willing to bet you'll be able to hack with a lot more options, and an accurate weather forecast wouldn't really be too difficult to imagine.
What looked really interesting was being able to see random peoples name and secrets, which I hope will be rich with various flavor text.
I guess this is a 2013 release yea?

My money's on Q1 2014.
I dunno, the game looks to be in late development, I'm betting Q4 2012 to Q2 2013.

This game has a really interesting mix between present and cyberpunk. Post-Cyberpunk perhaps?
You just made me spend an hour on that site.
Hm, looks like cyberpunk fans finally started to get some love. It started with DX:HR, then Syndicate (which apparently isn't very good, but hey, cyberpunk!), then that CDP Red Cyberpunk RPG thingie a couple of days back, and now this. I'm excited.
Syndicate wasn't even cyberpunk. It was just cyber.
Please get released on pc.
Please get released on pc.
Additionally, please don't be just a console port this time!

The demo you saw was actually on PC..

Yep
Got such a mixed feeling about this game
One side its fucking awesome since it looks amazing, has that cool hacking mechanism and it looks like it will GTA Free-roam style multiplayer where you are hunting other players
And on the bad side it could go wrong and they discover that the shit they wanted to do A) Turns out terrible or just doesn't work or B) Dynamic events gets removed and most of the hacking/car crashes/chases you saw are all scripted (Like the E3 demo)
So when are we gonna get new info? Or did I miss anything since the videos and the website?
That looks fucking amazing. Swordfish hacking game funded by ubisoft, fuck yeah!
I watched the gameplay video again, looking out for details. I believe the car crash event was scripted, but I'm not 100% sure.
A:

Notice the traffic is fairly light. Granted there are some cars, just watching there are not that many.
B:

Notice the time, and watch where the red circle is. Also notice the car going through the intersection.
C:

One second later, a headlight appears. I believe the way the camera was in the previous picture should still show a headlight if the car didn't "spawn" because it was activated. In addition, where did that car that was travsering the intersection go? It should be exiting the intersection and shouldn't have moved far, as Demarco's car didn't move far. It just vanishes (despawns?)
D:

Panning to the left a bit, and we notice not one, but four (Looks like four, may be three) cars. If the traffic is light, surely 4 (maybe 3) cars shouldn't be heading down the same road at the same time.
Discuss.
PS: I am not implying all events in the released game will be scripted, I am meerly pointing out that for E3, it was scripted. Still cool nonetheless. Still can't wait for this awesome looking game.
Edit:
In the first picture, there is one pair of headlights. I did miss that. But the fact is that there is only one pair, not 4 or 3, it is possible that more cars are behind it that don't show in the scene though.
I'm just afraid that what they showed was what they have in mind and that its not really set/known if any of it can actually be done for real
I remember a few years ago almost none of the games had special scripted events and pretty much nothing happened. I'm fine with scripted demos as long as they represent what can happen in the full game.
The way the passenger interacted with the dead woman after the traffic accident was great, lot better than the standard gta crash where everyone steps on the pedal frantically, or gets out and runs randomly. Then again it could be the scripted part, but it was neat watching civilians helping people out of the cars and what not
I believe the car crash event was scripted, but I'm not 100% sure.
Looks like it. I also think the change of time was scripted (to show off night effects) as well as the gas station igniting and blowing up (because we don't see a good reason for it to do so, but it looks pretty at night), and the helicopter arriving (to blend into the chase and show off that aspect of the game).
I can see how all these decisions are important for a quick demorun tho, so it's not really affecting my current positive opinion. Really want some more solid info tho.
How the hell do you make that non-scripted without the chance of fucking things up?
I don't give a shit if it's scripted it's pretty damn cool.
I can confirm that the car crash was scripted from comparing the E3 demo and the "gameplay trailer" side by side (All cars are in the exact same position, there's the same guy trying to talk to his dead wife in the car, etc.). However, the pedestrians were noticeably different, so it at least looks like the lively city will still be intact.

so much hnnggg
Or they just scripted it for the gameplay demo to make it more exciting, it wouldn't be so exciting if only like few car crashes.
2013 will be one of the greatest years for gaming.
Watch Dogs, Last of Us, GTAV (most likely), Bioshock Infinite...

Isn't the gameplay trsiler from the E3 gameplay?
The thing that would sell it to me would be if all of that was still possible if you never listened to the girl talking to the guy about seeing you at the club- if you didn't have to follow a script and could possibly get surprised by guards. Even meeting the weird asian with the american accent should be optional. The scripted kills were kinda dumb and the bullet time too- hopefully we won't see a lot of that in the actual game because up until I saw that stuff I was impressed.
