Some really interesting articles above. I don't care how long it takes, I just really want it to be good.
This actually looks really good, glad Ubisoft is doing something new. I really hope this one doesn't flop, i'm pretty stoked.

"We need time. We've had that; we've been working on this for a good two years and we're not shipping this year for sure. So we have a lot of time where we're able to put a lot of details in the game."
This makes me really excited. I can wait half a year or even a year for a game that will blow my pants into Earth orbit if it means it will be as detailed as it seems.
The mysterious second character that appeared at the end of Ubisoft’s live demo of Watch Dogs was in fact a second player. TWIST.

It was a second player. VG247 have spoken to him. His name is Dominic Guay, executive producer on the game. “Online is in the DNA of Watchdogs,” he said. “It’s super important to us. We couldn’t announce our game and not at least tease online.”
“Basically, Jonathan, our creative director was playing agent Pearce at the conference, and I was playing another character, who hacked into him, who had his own objective and we crossed paths. It was basically two players who crossed paths with their own objectives.”
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
i'm confused now, is the game always multiplayer or what
Maybe it's like dark souls?

I wanted a good fucking singleplayer game for once. Why does everything have to be online?
The game won't be ruined just because it has multiplayer...
I think it is fair to conclude based on the footage that we've seen that car crash from the demo was scripted. Considering this is supposed to be a "next-gen" game, I would assume the cars' behavior in the game is based on their physics engine. When the light changes and all the cars pile up, you can tell from how fast some of the cars come to a complete halt that their motion wasn't being calculated in real-time.
That said, I'm still really looking forward to this game. You can't blame the developers for wanting the demo to go as smoothly as possible for their first showing to the public.

Like I said, it's also easy to tell if you compare the E3 footage to the gameplay trailer (Which, despite being played the same way, are two different recordings). And yeah, I don't mind them scripting something like that just to show off the potential of what that can do, and it's nowhere near as scripted as most other demos are, just to a necessary degree to keep things interesting without spoiling much.
The entire game is about the advantages and disadvantages of a more connected world, how could there not be multiplayer?
Where was this second player everyone keeps talking about?
Where was this second player everyone keeps talking about?
In the E3 demo when Pierce drove off the camera pulled back and switched to a second guy on a rooftop who was told to protect him. It wasn't clear whether it was a second player or a new character but now we know.
Link to video?

and then they pulled back even more and showed like 5 names (ONLINE?)
Why is everyone bitching about things being scripted? It's a video introducing a whole concept and game in a couple minutes, and in order to portray everything in the game, a few things need to be scripted. It's not like you normally see every aspect of gameplay in a couple minutes.
Oh shit, “Online is in the DNA of Watchdogs” + Ubisoft = always online DRM.

They've said that that was just scripted, but most of the game is not.

Looks more like Sherlock Homes with the power of the internet.

No one is bitching really. Just hoping that the final product has the same level of quality as they portrayed in the gameplay shown.
Something's bugging me about the demarco video
Who cares if it's scripted or not, the game's concept looks really nice and original can't wait till it releases.
