I've had front on collisions so many times and walked away from it with no scratches. I even rammed the back of a police car earlier at top speed. he exploded while I just drove on
What's worse is when your car gets show... the bullet holes go away.
Welcome to open world games.
That's an excuse for some repetition as it's basically inevitable, but there's a limit. I'm not sure any open world game has gotten it perfect, but games like Assassin's Creed 4 and Batman: Arkham City have managed to bring in some good variety (though both occasionally fall into repetition). I dunno; I certainly won't dismiss Watch_Dogs as I still need to see more.

So I'm driving down the streets in what appears to be a super car and the police still manage to catch up to me in their shitty cars. What gives. And the fact they cause so much anger in missions when 5 of them appear out of no where and box you. Especially when your chasing some guy in a car and gets away because you get boxed in. Rage.
Finished, generic open-world game. Not worth the 60 bucks they are asking for. The gimmick is short-lasting and gets stale fast. It's not what they hyped it up to be, at all. Don't buy it until it's 20-30 buckaroo's.

EVEN THOUGH the fighting bits are so similar and EVEN THOUGH the predator bits are so similar, there's a lot within them to break up the repetitive nature. There's tons of gadgets to take down your enemies. In watch dogs you can either shoot someone, press A to beat them up or if you're in a car chase, press X to win (Because you have no way of getting them off of your tail by conventional means) the game looks mediocre at best and there's no reason for it to be a performance hog, and on top of that the gameplay is as bland if not worse than any other freeroam game. I could at least beat saints row 3. i have no ambition to get past act 2 on this but I'm going to because I HOPE TO GOD I didn't waste sixty dollars on this (oh wait)
The music selection sucks
I told you guys like 40 pages back that this game was going to be shit and guess who was right? if you want to play it and haven't preordered and you see this post, just remember by about christmas time it'll have a GOTY out for twenty bucks retail. And it'll probably be on sale too! [editline]24th May 2014[/editline] ALSO if you see this post, someone I know who has never lied to me said in mid july they're going to have 15% off of all ubisoft titles on steam and guess what's included. you know, in case you can't wait for november [editline]24th May 2014[/editline] oh, also, holy shit the outfit selections are SO BAD THEY ARE SO BAD. I seriously hope nobody in the real world thinks that aiden's dress style is socially acceptable because it isn't. player character needs to go back to shitty anime conventions
What is everyone playing on? Beta versions, leaks, or early releases?
What is everyone playing on? Beta versions, leaks, or early releases?
leak
actually I can't even beat act 2 because this mission I'm on requires me to do some kind of timed driving but I can't ever win because the game is such a laggy unoptimized lie, I just crash in to everything because I have zero control of my vehicle
I'm starting to suddenly anticipate disappointment. I don't want this to suck, but it's hard to argue with what is so far popular opinion. It's gonna really suck for Ubi if Watch Dogs ends up to be a disappointment.
such a disappointment
I for one am having great fun playing at 24fps on foot and 15fps while driving regardless of graphics settings :suicide:
I never understood why people use a non base-2 amount of RAM. Doesn't that hinder/affect performance/usefulness?
What is everyone playing on? Beta versions, leaks, or early releases?
Unless you're polling people: There's both a leak (from unknown source) and early-shipped copies (with day one patch).

A'ight, am I the only one with this happening? My 780 even stutters on high with the latest nvidia drivers.

I think I'm going to cancel my pre-order.
I bought it for 34 buckaroo's so I'm good with that.
Where? I wouldn't mind spending that much to see the online features.

Eliminating a sense of progression (and/or a struggle to progress) doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Where? I wouldn't mind spending that much to see the online features.
G2A. It's gone now, of course.
So I went ahead and cancelled my preorder since apparently the game doesn't seem worth $60. I'm still going to get it, because I have a free copy of it from my order of my GTX 760 Ti and I've already got the code for it. Granted I only bought the 760 Ti because watch dogs was supposed to need more power But I won't regret going from a 560 Ti to a 760 Ti. Yay I guess
The fuck is the point of that. Eliminating a sense of progression (and/or a struggle to progress) doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
the first weapon I bought was a grenade launcher and I bought it within like the first thirty minutes of the game. It's also the only gun I've ever needed to use also practically every enemy you encounter will carry a new gun and all you have to do is run over and pick it up and add it to your pool of guns. I have like 8 pistols and every assault rifle unlocked already. Oh, right, except in this game you start off with the silenced 1911 which is the only handgun you'll ever use [editline]24th May 2014[/editline] just like how the costume you start in is the only costume you'll ever use and the skills you start with are the only skills you'll ever use hell, honestly you just have to do the first mission and you've seen the whole game since EVERYTHING is unlocked
Also, 39 missions. That means if they didn't cut the game into 9 different versions it would probably be closer to 60. Fuck you, Ubi.
I never understood why people use a non base-2 amount of RAM. Doesn't that hinder/affect performance/usefulness?
Isn't that system triple channel? If not he might have upgraded from a tripple channel setup and didn't get more ram.
I played this yesterday and was disappointed on the whole, the graphics were eugh and everything seemed eugh. But I gave it another shot with the updated drivers today and well... it's starting to grow on me. Definitely did not live up to the hype but it's not terrible.
Keeping fingers crossed for The Division
The Division is being made by a different team altogether and it DOES have a lot of potential, but I think what they presented is the exact opposite of how the game is really going to be
