If they didn't split this game into 9 different versions they probably could have included actual progression. But no, the dicks at Ubi needed more money so they had to give you everything at the start.
You'd think a game that had over 600 developers spanned across, what, 7 different studios would have more variety. How do you fuck up this badly?

Fuck I hope I can still cancel my preorder from GMG
Hey guys, don't know if you noticed but "arsenalrobert" on youtube has got the game early for some reason. He's doing a let's play on youtube with 8 parts so far.
I wouldn't put it past him if he pirated it and began doing an LP of it.
And for someone like him, unless he got permission, that's so incredibly fucking risky given the global embargo is the 27th.
this game is scarier than amnesia
it's quiet as fuck so you have to crank up your speakers to hear anything
i'm just chilling and pop open youtube and have my ears blasted because I forgot I had to phsyically turn up my speakers
Eugh, I might need to cancel my preorder. Does anyone know how Amazon handles gift cards and refunds?

Monday is a holiday
you know, normally people would be happy about that
It's going to ship within 3km of my house and then get locked up at a UPS facility until Tuesday anyway. It's nothing but an inconvenience. Now I make a hard decision.

Ah that explains it, sort of.

Yeah the games is pretty shit, the only thing that holds it up is the hacking and not even that is great or really developed and you see everything what the game has to offer right at the beginning. Like the hacking isn't even that great of a gimmick it literally wears off after the first time you use it. It's also not there most of the time, the game forcing you into shoot outs and police chases also does a lot more harm then good since they are not even fun and you have that stupid aim assist or whatever making mouse aiming while in combat garbage.
The game is a perfect example of "good idea, executed horribly"
Buy it when there is a big discount or don't but if you have it pre ordered I would cancel it.
Reminder that Steam now has a Refund button for Pre-orders, you don't need to send in a support ticket.

And go to the STORE TRANSACTIONS page.
Wait are you people actually cancelling your pre-orders because of graphics and some minor sound issues oh my god.

yes
Reddit's reviews of it are a bit nicer, so I'm conflicted now.

So like the first Assassin's Creed?

Uh no not at all actually we're getting reports of integral issues at this point, whether they're accurate or not is one thing you could question, but you might try reading the thread really to answer yours.
personally I don't think the game is shit. after getting used to how the cars handle, they've become super fun to drive around, especially after the new geforce beta driver which fixes the microstutters to a degree. gunplay is very simple, but I think it's solid at the same time. simple, but solid. I enjoy it.
hacking really is a gimmick in a lot of places, but I still find it badass to use the hacks to stop chasing vehicles behind me or to clear out as many enemies as I can in an area using cameras and hacks only.
I can see it not living up to the hype, but personally I'm not disappointed, nor surprised. it's really what I expected, an open world game + hacking. it has its flaws like a batshit dumb AI, that vehicle damage is just a load of non sense and that a lot of the hacking "puzzles" are very easy, but other than that I think it's a fun game.
lol at the people who pre-ordered this game
I think I might be able to cancel mine. I'll hold out for later and spend the money on something else.
So like the first Assassin's Creed?
Not really, from what I remember of the first AC it was alright and it was more "good idea, executed in an ok way" and it was still entertaining but more "there is a lot of potential in this if it was developed more"
The problem with watch dogs is that because it's barely ok in the first place you never think to your self "wow this game has so much potential" because hacking is never evolved into more then pressing q constantly and stopping the exact same crimes over and over again, even the massive black outs are barely worth mentioning.
Don't get me wrong, when the game gives you enough stuff to play with hacking it can be entertaining and in some cases shine but when it keeps forcing crappy generic shootouts and police chases on top of the generic story line and won't let up it's just not fun to play.
Like I love a good revenge story but this isn't even set up great, like why should I give a shit about Aidens niece? also about the story, talking to certain people where aiden threatens them is so fucken dumb, like he will give a long speech about making sure the guy doesn't cross you or say anything stupid that could get you arrested or killed or w/e anytime soon and then after the cutscene ends you can just turn around and shoot the guy and walk away....like whats the point at least give us the option before you do that as it's so anti-climatic.
It definitely could have been done better but it's by no means a bad game.
I'm sure I can get enough enjoyment out of it to warrant the purchase - even if most of that enjoyment is just me fucking around.
Not to mention how much the multiplayer could add.
The game may be crappy in places. But no one can deny the game doesn't look beautiful.

This. I only just got to Act 3 and so far the game has been fun. It lived up to my expectations of having an interesting story and being a third-person shooter with a hacker gimmick. The game looks great even with low settings. I think the game is going to get a lot of 5-7/10 reviews because a ton of people expected it to revolutionize games and usher in a new golden age of gaming.
The game isn't horrible, it's just not worth the 60$ or even past 40$ in my mind.
